Scott Sibella
Scott Sibella is a former retail casino executive—most recently the President of Resorts World Las Vegas—caught in the midst of a series of legal and regulatory scandals.
Although Sibella was cleared of wrongdoing by Nevada regulators, he was dismissed by Resorts World for unspecified violations of company policy.
On Jan. 24, 2024, Sibella pleaded guilty to federal charges of violating the Bank Secrecy Act. He admitted to knowingly allowing Wayne Nix to gamble at the MGM Grand despite knowing Nix was a black market bookmaker, likely settling his debts with illegally procured funds.
Sibella is also facing a lawsuit by gambler Robert Cipriani.
The various accusations against Sibella all relate to his alleged relationships with a number of individuals convicted of fraud or gambling-related crimes, like Nix, as well as Robert Alexander, Brandon Sattler, and others. Cipriani and Sattler have both accused Sibella of allowing some of these individuals to gamble or do business at properties under his supervision, in violation of regulations and/or company policy.
