Other casino review sites will tell you FanDuel is one of the leading names in online gambling and leave it at that. My review of FanDuel Casino Ontario draws on real experiences and observations to determine whether the site earns its keep as one of the province’s top operators.
It became clear in the early stages that FanDuel Ontario had plenty working in its favour.
After a streamlined sign-up and account verification process (under five minutes), I was able to begin my exploration. Instant deposits via Interac and online banking kept the momentum and thrust me into gameplay mode.
A purposeful perusal of FanDuel Ontario’s game selection revealed a dense catalogue of 475-plus slots, 205 live dealer & table games, 48 exclusives, and 18 specialty options.
With loads of material to work through, I tested everything from mobile and desktop layout to game mechanics and transaction speeds.
Without giving too much away, my time interacting with FanDuel was mainly positive. I’m delighted to tell you all about it right here.
Overall Product Rating & Key Takeaways
Overall rating: 4.5/5
Game variety: 4.3/5
Software quality: 4.5/5
Security and reliability: 4.6/5
Banking methods and payout speed: 4.5/5
Customer support: 4.4/5
My Experience with FanDuel Ontario
My expectations were high given FanDuel’s status as one of the leading operators in North America, and I’m glad to report its Ontario product lived up to the brand’s lofty billing with a 4.5/5 star rating.
While its game selection, particularly the slots catalogue, isn’t as vast as competitors, FanDuel Ontario casino still boasts several high quality titles from top suppliers like Pragmatic Play (Gates of Olympus, Buffalo King Megaways) and IGT (Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 2, Da Vinci Diamonds).
Software quality, whether on mobile or desktop, was also a plus for me (4.6/5 rating). Smooth graphics and game speed carried over to my laptop, which is older than most fourth-graders. I was able to move between games with ease, which is helpful when I’m undecided or feeling adventurous.
An efficient and secure KYC (know your customer) process got me off on the right foot. I was able to complete the entire sign-up stage in less than five minutes. In particular, it took less than five seconds to verify my account once I submitted my photo ID.
Instant deposits and quick payouts earned FanDuel Ontario a solid 4.5 rating in the banking department. Transacting with only the most reliable of payment methods certainly outweighs the limited amount of withdrawal options (two).
Finally, the customer support network was wide (four options) and helpful. FanDuel does offer customer support through social media DMs, which is unique. That said, going directly through the FanDuel app or website was more straightforward for me.

Where I Found FanDuel Ontario Available
As an Ontario resident, I have access to FanDuel Ontario’s mobile app and desktop site. Like many other Ontarians who partake in online gaming, I am well aware of FanDuel’s significant presence in the province, driven by various network partnerships and advertising efforts.
While its reputation may precede itself, my goal is to provide you with an in-depth analysis of FanDuel’s offering. In doing so, I will test whether FanDuel earns its keep as one of the leading online casinos in Ontario.
Navigating FanDuel Ontario: My Impressions of the Platform
To kick off my FanDuel Ontario review, I’m going to walk you through my experience navigating the mobile and desktop platforms. I’ve also included screenshots and recordings to give you a better idea of core design elements, basic actions, and overall performance.
Desktop Experience
Off the top, FanDuel Ontario boasts an accessible homepage that doesn’t scroll on forever and turn your device into a kiln. The menu bar along the top of the screen will cover just about every game type you’re looking for. My only gripe, however, is that there’s no way to sort games, and slots specifically, by supplier. It’s a small thing but still feels like a missed opportunity.
The games, whether slots, live, or table, all loaded quickly and featured clear graphics. The desktop version of FanDuel is not filled with clutter or distracting animations, so I was able to narrow my focus accordingly. This made the navigation process relatively seamless.
Using this method, you will find a detailed breakdown of your balance, including how much is eligible for withdrawal, as well as links to the standard deposit and withdrawal pages. I didn’t capture the deposit or withdrawal pages further to protect my information, but I was pleased by how easy FanDuel makes it find important account details.
One final point regarding the desktop experience is that you don’t need to download a location authenticator or another app to play games on FanDuel. Just enable location sharing and the site will verify your location when you launch each game. The notice said it might take up to two minutes, but I never waited more than 10 seconds.
Mobile App Experience
The beauty of FanDuel Ontario’s mobile app is that it is essentially a carbon copy of the desktop site. I always appreciate that continuity because I’d rather not have to familiarize myself with a new layout, tabs, etc. Also, you can see your recently played games on the homepage, which is helpful if you’re switching devices but want to keep at the same games.
I started with the exclusive title FanDuel Sweet Bonanza. As is the case with most other sites, the first game I open in a session almost always tends to open a little slower. That’s how it played out in my sample video, where you’ll notice FanDuel St. Patrick’s Day Blackjack loaded much faster than Sweet Bonanza.
Moral of the story, don’t be discouraged if your first game takes a little longer to load.
Overall, the FanDuel Ontario casino app served me well during my gameplay sessions, one of which I spent perusing the baccarat (FanDuel baccarat in the live tab, specifically) and roulette tables (American Roulette, standard). The session lasted about 15 minutes, as I was eager to engage with the whole app, but it played identically to the desktop site, just on a smaller screen.
The app receives a 4.4/5 on the Apple App Store (3.2k reviews) and 4.7/5 on Google Play (2.3k reviews). Being an IOS user myself, I can say that my experience fell in line with the 4.4 rating – I gave FanDuel as a whole 4.5.
Exploring the Games: What I Found & What Stands Out
This table demonstrates how FanDuel Ontario’s portfolio of games compares to other leading sites. You will notice that it ranks a close third in three of four categories – Table & live dealer, exclusives, specialty – by quantity, which is on par with my earlier finding that FanDuel’s gaming library is more dense than competitors.
Casino | Slots | Table & Live Dealer Games | Exclusives | Specialty Games |
---|---|---|---|---|
FanDuel | 475+ | 205 | 48 | 18 |
bet365 | 1,100+ | 258 | 96 | 21 |
Jackpot City | 500+ | 145 | 9 | 31 |
BetMGM | 2,500+ | 218 | 192 | 13 |
Slot Games
With a selection of 475-plus slots, FanDuel Ontario doesn’t boast the same expansive pool as other operators (see BetMGM in above table). That said, I didn’t at all feel overwhelmed when filtering through FanDuel’s slots offering. While, yes, I still wish I could search by supplier, I was pleased to see titles from renowned names like Pragmatic Play, Light & Wonder, and IGT.
There are also 27 FanDuel Ontario casino exclusive slots. Here are the three I tested:
- El Dorado: The City of Gold – 96.50% RTP – Medium-high volatility – Pragmatic Play
- FanDuel Hot Offer Deluxe – 96.04% RTP – Medium volatility – FanDuel
- Huff N’ More Puff – 96.00% RTP – High volatility – Light & Wonder
The trio each displayed excellent mechanics and graphics, but I was particularly drawn to El Dorado: The City of Gold and its vibrant wilds. Having such a feature in a game with an already higher-than-average RTP definitely makes El Dorado stand out from the pack, in my book.
Other top slots options on FanDuel include Wolf It Up, Cash Strike, Gold Blitz Ultimate, and Sweet Bonanza 1000.
Like the exclusives, these three titles all had clear and smooth graphics. Wolf It Up with its fairy tale style design and Gold Blitz with its intense, colour-driven layout had the most interesting animations. Sweet Bonanza, which was reminiscent of Candy Crush, was good, too.
Both Gold Blitz and Sweet Bonanza gave me the option to increase my bet to double my chances, but I’d give the edge in that category to the latter, which let me increase from the $0.20 minimum to $0.25, whereas the former made me double my wager to unlock the boost.
Overall, Wolf It Up was the most immersive and adventurous of the bunch. Whether through free spins, additional wheel spins which give more free spins or multipliers (major 50x; grand 1000x), or its fruitful bonus round that lets you achieve multiple multipliers in the same round, Wolf It Up is definitely worth checking out.
Table & Live Dealer Games
Boasting 205 total games, FanDuel’s table & live dealer catalogue stacks up well against top competition. Table games account for nearly 60% of the total selection, with 121 titles (10 exclusives).
As far as the breakdown by game type, FanDuel’s table game section is very heavy on blackjack (49 options) and roulette (46). It also features poker (12), sic bo (8), baccarat (5), and craps (1).
Roulette (24) and blackjack (17) still lead the way on the live dealer side, but it’s not as top heavy with game shows (16), baccarat (10), sic bo (3), poker (2), and craps (1) also among what’s available.
I decided to engage with a few different live dealer offerings – partly because of the overlap on the table game side – but also to get a feel for the studio quality, interactivity, and overall game flow.
Starting with FanDuel Roulette, I really enjoyed the multiple camera angles used during gameplay. The tighter, overhead shot once the ball got rolling made it easy to track the spin without any obstructions. Sound quality, both of the wheel and the dealer was crystal clear, and background noise was kept to a minimum. I also thought 20 seconds between spins was an appropriate amount of time to confirm my decision.
The various blackjack games I sat in on were very casual in nature. There weren’t any standout features or larger-than-life dealers, but I think that complemented the atmosphere nicely. The action buttons still showed you how other players were playing each hand (ex. 35% standing on 14), which is a cool feature. But overall, I’d say the game itself was the focus for everyone involved.
If it’s more energy you’re after, I’d recommend you check out FanDuel’s game show selection. Funky Time, a disco-themed mega wheel game combined a colour-bursting set with groovy animations to really nail down the ‘height of disco’ atmosphere. I’d say that energy translated into the gameplay, thanks in part to a charismatic host.
All in all, I enjoyed FanDuel’s live dealer selection. It’s not going to blow you away with any never-before-seen games or features, but it has enough variety to get the job done. That’s especially important given the overlap within the standard table game offering.
Does FanDuel Ontario Offer Games You Can’t Find Elsewhere?
FanDuel Ontario comes equipped with 48 exclusive titles. While not at the volume of bet365 (96) or BetMGM (192), FanDuel’s selection is unmistakably unique.
The site relies heavily on its strong ties to professional sports to deliver one-of-a-kind games like FanDuel Ultimate Hoop LuckyTap and FanDuel Fortune Kick.
Both games, in essence, operate like slots in that they use a Random Number Generator (RNG) to determine the outcome. However, instead of using a traditional reel display, each game takes you onto the court and field.
As you can see in the images below (Ultimate Hoops, left; Fortune Kick, right), you spin the reel and wait for the outcome. In Ultimate Hoops, a successful shot will then return a payout according to one or more of the basketballs on screen. Fortune Kick operates awfully similar, but instead of returning exact dollar amounts, the on-screen footballs give multipliers that will then result in a payout.
Specialty Games
FanDuel Ontario also has a cool collection of crash, arcade, and keno games.
Alongside the typical ‘flight’ crash games, which contain low wager minimums ($0.10), you also will find an arcade game called Stellar Bounties. I felt compelled to shout this game out because it’s like an adult version of the classic Space Invaders video game.
Based on that comparison alone, I’m sure most of you can already picture the gameplay, but I’ll offer a refresher for those in need. Basically, your job is to shoot down the invaders that pop up on screen. The more you take down, and the higher value the target is, the more you earn. Super simple, right?
Next, we have a pretty deep keno roster on FanDuel Ontario (nine games total). I found the top options (Lightning Box Keno and Power Keno) entertaining, which was a plus since Keno isn’t a game I frequent.
Overall, I found FanDuel’s specialty games to be its greatest strength, at least by ways of creativity and uniqueness.
VIP & Loyalty Rewards: Is It Worth the Commitment?
FanDuel Ontario doesn’t offer a loyalty program in the traditional sense, but players are eligible to earn rewards. To keep things simple, I will be referring to this as a rewards program moving forward. Here’s what I can tell you about it.
How the Loyalty Program Works
Without a traditional loyalty or VIP program, there is no way of tracking your progress within the system. Instead, you earn various casino-related rewards through gameplay – but do not take that as an invite to play recklessly. As you’ll see below from my conversation with customer support, continue playing as you normally would.
What I can tell you is that every player with a verified FanDuel Ontario casino account is eligible for the rewards system. You do, however, have to opt-in to the various rewards available. I did this by visiting the promotions page and opting in to the reward(s) that fit my gaming preferences.
My Experience with the VIP Perks
While the FanDuel Ontario rewards system has some useful offers, it’s hard to quantify how effective it truly is. Simply opting in and playing without progress meters made it challenging to determine whether the system’s benefits justified high-level play.
To that point, I appreciated the openness of the system and that anybody could be eligible for it. However, I can understand if high rollers feel their contributions should be rewarded with larger perks.
To put a bow on my experience with the rewards system, I’d say it was relatively underwhelming given FanDuel’s stature and positive attributes in several other key areas. There’s still some promise within it, I’d just like to see more.
How the FanDuel Ontario Rewards Compare to Other Casinos
I’ve created a small chart to compare FanDuel’s rewards system with that of other leading online casinos in BetMGM and DraftKings. I narrowed the comparison down to four basic categories that I believe players should look for in a rewards system.
Casino | Automatically Enrolled | Track Progress | Casino Rewards | Non-casino Rewards |
---|---|---|---|---|
FanDuel | ✅ | ❌ | ✅ | ❌ |
BetMGM | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
DraftKings | ❌ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
For starters, automatic enrolment is a plus for FanDuel, even with a smaller system. Not being able to track progress is frustrating – I can attest to that – but since there’s no solidified, comprehensive system that’s almost an expectation.
Having casino-centred rewards is by no means revolutionary, but a good start. If I’m playing at an online casino and the only rewards available funnel back to said online casino, I’m fine with that.
That said, a wider selection of rewards options, like travel accommodations or merchandise, serves both players and operators well. I’d definitely like to see FanDuel Ontario follow BetMGM and DraftKings in that vein.
How I Handled Deposits & Withdrawals
As expected from a site of FanDuel’s calibre, the deposit and withdrawal process seamless. In addition to the table showing each available deposit and withdrawal method and their processing times, I’m also going to walk you through my experience moving money to and from my FanDuel Ontario account.
Payment Method | Minimum Deposit | Maximum Deposit | Transaction Time | Minimum Withdrawal | Maximum Withdrawal | Processing Time |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Interac | $10 | $25,000 | Instant | $10 | $25,000 | < 24 hours |
Debit Card | $10 | $50,000 | Instant | N/A | N/A | N/A |
Credit Card | $10 | $50,000 | Instant | N/A | N/A | N/A |
Online Banking | $10 | $25,000 | Instant | $1 | $100,000 | < 24 hours |
PayPal | $10 | $50,000 | Instant | N/A | N/A | N/A |
Gift Card | $10 | $50,000 | Instant | N/A | N/A | N/A |
Deposit Options
There are six deposit methods on FanDuel Ontario: Interac, debit card (Visa, Mastercard), credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), online banking, PayPal, and gift card (Game On).
For the purpose of my FanDuel Casino Ontario review, I decided to use Interac and online banking to make my two deposits. I thought this would be helpful considering these are the only two available withdrawal options.
Starting with Interac for my initial deposit, the entire process took under 1 minute and 30 seconds. After selecting the Interac option, I was redirected to a page where I chose my financial institution.
From there, I signed into online banking, confirmed which account to send the money from and pressed ‘Continue.’ After that, the funds were in my FanDuel account within 30 seconds.
The process was even faster using online banking. It took one minute to choose my deposit amount, financial institution, sign in, and confirm the transaction. Once that was done the money was in my FanDuel account in less than five seconds. So, for those doing the math, it took under 1 minute and 5 seconds for funds to be playable via online banking.
I did not try any of the other deposit options for withdrawal-related reasons. However, they all carry the same low deposit minimum ($10) and are trusted sources in the online gaming space.
Withdrawal Process
We know there are only two withdrawal options on FanDuel Ontario: Interac and online banking. While that may be frustrating, the positive to that is I was able to test them both on your behalf.
The festivities begin with Interac, which carries a minimum withdrawal of $10 and maximum of $25,000. After opening my account overview page (demonstrated in video at top of page), I clicked ‘Payable balance’ and then ‘Withdraw.’
That prompted me to another window where I chose the Interac option, entered my amount, set and answered a security question and confirmed.
I officially requested the Interac withdrawal at 4:44 p.m. EST and the funds were in my bank account at 3:16 p.m. the following day.
Moving over to online banking, the path was just as easy. I entered my withdrawal amount, chose my financial institution, and signed in. Next, I confirmed the transaction through two-factor authentication with a text code. That was at 5:28 p.m. The money then appeared in my bank account the day after at 3:18 p.m.
Pro tip: Enable Interac e-transfer auto deposit through your online banking institution beforehand to expedite the process.
Payment Security & Regulations
As a licensed operator by iGaming Ontario, you should feel comfortable transacting with FanDuel’s Ontario casino. With that status comes several integral security measures designed to protect your personal and financial information.
Earlier, I mentioned completing KYC or know your customer protocols at the time of sign up. I implore you to do the same. These are the steps that properly verify your identity and account. To complete KYC protocols, you must submit a valid government-issued photo ID.
Examples of eligible documents include a driver’s license, ID card, and passport. By providing these items, you are proving that your personal information is correct and verifiable by law.
For reference, it took five seconds for FanDuel to verify my ID after submitting. We all have five seconds to spare here.
After all KYC business is completed, you can then think about making transactions, all of which are protected by SSL encryption. SSL is a software designed to protect private information exchanged over the internet. This includes typical banking and personal info. It is used by most, if not all, licensed online casinos in Ontario.
In FanDuel’s case, there is an SSL notice present along the bottom of the Interac and online banking withdrawal screens. I find that transparency to be a nice touch.
My Experience with Customer Support
FanDuel Ontario offers four customer support options for players to engage with. They are:
- FAQ
- 24/7 live chat
- Email (fill out form and have answer sent to your email. Response time is approx. 12 hours)
- Social media message (direct message FanDuel support on Twitter/X and Facebook)
As you can see in the chart below, FanDuel’s customer support system stands out from top competitors as the only operator to offer social media messaging as a support option.
Casino | FAQ | Live Chat | Web Message | Social Media Message | Phone Call | ||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
FanDuel | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ | ✅ | ❌ | ✅ | ❌ |
Jackpot City | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ | ❌ | ❌ | ✅ |
BetMGM | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ | ✅ |
Bet365 | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ |
DraftKings | ✅ | ✅ | ❌ | ❌ | ✅ | ❌ | ✅ |
I decided to test the live chat option because it is what FanDuel recommends and is often what players use most.
Upon being greeted by a virtual assistant, known as FanDuel coach, I selected ‘Casino’ from the list of query topics. Then, I was asked to select where I was contacting them from (Ontario). After waiting in the queue for about 10 minutes (initiated chat at 4 p.m. on a Friday, for context), I was paired with a live agent.
I documented my experience with said live agent, Aaron, in a series of five screenshots.
Knowing that details around FanDuel Ontario’s rewards system are rather scant, I was curious if live support could tell me more. So, I started by asking Aaron to enlighten me on FanDuel’s rewards system as a new customer. In response, he suggested I check my email and the FanDuel app itself for rewards-related notifications.
There was nothing overly concrete in that response, but it at least offered some direction. My follow-up about tracking my rewards status was also somewhat disappointing in that Aaron said there isn’t a specific guide or reference for any rewards progress. Instead, he said, to play as I normally would and then any eligible words would appear in the app or my email.
On the bright side, Aaron confirmed that all FanDuel members are automatically enrolled in the system.
While the rewards system at FanDuel Ontario casino remains a slight mystery, I got confirmation rewards are available. It’s obviously a delicate subject in Ontario, but I’d say my interaction with customer support was positive overall. Aaron’s answers were quick, and did provide useful information.
Outside of a longer than usual wait time, my four-question conversation with Aaron took seven minutes.
My Key Takeaways
Backed by a high-functioning mobile app and desktop site, FanDuel Ontario ensures its games remain the priority. While not as extensive as rivals’ catalogues, FanDuel Ontario boasts 475-plus slots, 205 live dealer & table games, 48 exclusives, and 18 specialty games.
This quality over quantity approach allows FanDuel Ontario to offer popular titles from top providers like Pragmatic Play, Light & Wonder, and IGT without overwhelming its users.
The site stands as one of the province’s go-to online casinos for blackjack and roulette enthusiasts, boasting 60-plus options for each classic. Despite some overlap, there’s enough variation between games to keep them interesting. Special themes like sports, holidays, and regional variations play a large part.
Deposits are instant across six different payment options. With Interac and online banking, specifically, I was able to complete the deposit process from scratch in under 90 seconds.
Withdrawals using each method took slightly longer, but were approved and in my account within 24 hours. FanDuel also notably offers high withdrawal maximums for both online banking ($100,000) and Interac ($25,000).
The lack of a traditional loyalty or VIP program was somewhat disappointing. The substitute, a basic opt-in rewards system, has its merits but leaves something to be desired, especially for high rollers.
Who Should Play Here?
In my opinion, FanDuel Ontario is the perfect online casino for casual players. While some of you may assume the opposite given the high transaction maximums, I beg to differ. The reason being the smaller gaming catalogue and lack of a true tiered rewards system.
As I said earlier, high-rollers want to spend, and in return, they want recognition through VIP status and rewards. Unfortunately, FanDuel Ontario does not offer that.
This is not to say FanDuel Ontario is not for high-rollers because that is not true. It has the high transaction maximums and allows you to bet hefty hands (up to $20,000 on Easy Blackjack). However, the current ‘opt-in for casino bonuses’ system doesn’t reward spending like a classic VIP or tiered table.
That’s why the system better speaks to players with bankrolls in the small-to-medium range. There isn’t as much of a commitment, and you can really focus on the games you enjoy most.
My Closing Thoughts
All in all, my FanDuel Ontario review has shown that there are more pros than cons with this online casino.
Out of the gate, there is a clear emphasis on player experience and security. This is defined by high-quality software on both the mobile and desktop sites, each of which support an accessible layout with SSL-encrypted transactions and a seamless verification process.
FanDuel Ontario’s gaming catalogue is dense, but still contains some of the top online slots in Canada and a robust live dealer & table game offering (205 total games). Gameplay across all game types and devices is noticeably smooth. Clean graphics and game mechanics deserve recognition for that.
Higher-than-average maximums on deposits and withdrawals complement competitive minimums. All six deposit options come with a $10 minimum, while the two withdrawal methods (online banking and Interac) boast maximums of $100,000 and $25,000, respectively. Deposits were instant and withdrawals via both methods took about 24 hours.
There is no option for crypto transactions on FanDuel Ontario, so if that’s your preferred method I suggest you look elsewhere. Also, the lack of a true loyalty and VIP program puts FanDuel behind top competition like BetMGM and DraftKings.
I’ve covered a lot in this in-depth review of FanDuel Ontario. But if you decided to skip all the way to the bottom for a quick answer, here you go: I can conclude after all my research that FanDuel Ontario casino is worth checking out.
