Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana will officially open on Thursday, February 13, 2025 according to an announcement from The Cordish Companies last week. The opening is still pending approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.

The new $270+ million gaming facility and hotel will be located along the Red River in Bossier City, adjacent to Shreveport. Guests can currently begin booking reservations for the new hotel by visiting the location’s website.

Along with the Louisiana location, plans were recently approved for a Live! Casino to be built in New Hampshire. The Cordish Companies is a big opponent of legalized online casinos. So, in both cases, a new retail casino being established could infringe on each state’s hopes to further iGaming discussions.

What guests can expect from Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana

Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana will feature a number of amenities for guests to enjoy.

That includes:

  • 47,000 square feet of gaming space
  • More than 1,000 slots and electronic table games
  • Over 40 live-action table games
  • Dedicated High Limits Room
  • Retail sportsbook
  • A 12-story, 549-room Live! Hotel with resort-style pool and fitness center
  • A 31-site RV park with concrete pads and full hook-ups
  • 30,000 square feet of dining and entertainment options
  • Event Center featuring 25,000-square-feet of customizable meeting space to accommodate groups of 12 to nearly 1,200 guests
  • Access to parking with an attached multi-level structured parking facility and adjacent surface parking

John J. Chaszar, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana discussed his excitement for the facility’s debut in a couple months in a press release.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce our grand opening date. We are so ready to go Live! in 2025 and deliver this top-tier gaming and entertainment experience that is unmatched by anything else in the four-state region.”

“Live! is truly a one-of-a-kind destination, offering something for everyone—whether you’re a sports fan, a foodie, a gaming enthusiast, or just seeking an unforgettable night out, you’ll find it all under one roof.”

The Cordish Companies opposed to legalizing online casinos

As noted with the New Hampshire project, Cordish Companies has a strong stance against the furthering of online casinos in their respective states.

The company believes that iGaming cannibalizes retail casino revenue. This despite having an online casino brand in Pennsylvania.

Those concerns kept New Hampshire from pursuing online gambling further in 2023.

Last week, Legal Sports Report noted that Louisiana begun discussions on legalizing iGaming in the state. New Orleans recently hosted the National Council of Legislators from Gaming State’s winter conference. It was there that model online casino legislation was a prominent topic.
