Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana will officially open on Thursday, February 13, 2025 according to an announcement from The Cordish Companies last week. The opening is still pending approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board.
The new $270+ million gaming facility and hotel will be located along the Red River in Bossier City, adjacent to Shreveport. Guests can currently begin booking reservations for the new hotel by visiting the location’s website.
Along with the Louisiana location, plans were recently approved for a Live! Casino to be built in New Hampshire. The Cordish Companies is a big opponent of legalized online casinos. So, in both cases, a new retail casino being established could infringe on each state’s hopes to further iGaming discussions.

The Cordish Companies opposed to legalizing online casinos
As noted with the New Hampshire project, Cordish Companies has a strong stance against the furthering of online casinos in their respective states.
The company believes that iGaming cannibalizes retail casino revenue. This despite having an online casino brand in Pennsylvania.
Those concerns kept New Hampshire from pursuing online gambling further in 2023.
Last week, Legal Sports Report noted that Louisiana begun discussions on legalizing iGaming in the state. New Orleans recently hosted the National Council of Legislators from Gaming State’s winter conference. It was there that model online casino legislation was a prominent topic.
