Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa is now the exclusive brick-and-mortar casino partner of the Ottawa Charge, a Professional Women’s Hockey League’s (PWHL) team representing the nation’s capital. Hard Rock Ottawa says the partnership with the Charge reflects its commitment to boosting entertainment in its host cities.

In the Feb. 19 announcement, Christine Crump, president of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa, lauded the new relationship between the two “dynamic brands.”

There is plenty to be excited about in Ottawa! Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa and the Ottawa Charge are two dynamic brands in our nation’s capital, and we are thrilled to partner with the team to offer premier entertainment options for thrill seekers in eastern Ontario and beyond.

Throughout their inaugural season, we watched from our season seats and nurtured a relationship with the Ottawa Charge. We recognize the significance of the PWHL for women and sport and to commemorate their historical inaugural season, we have a special piece of memorabilia that will hang in our newly renovated space. We can’t wait to share it with fans when we open the new facility!

Partnership will deliver “unforgettable experiences”

The partnership announcement comes as Hard Rock prepares to complete its $350 million transformation of the Rideau Carleton Casino (RCC) into its new home. The iconic brand took over the RCC in 2017, but the company paused plans to revamp the site during the pandemic’s peak.

However, after updating constriction plans and timelines, the effort to “re-energize Ottawa’s entertainment scene” is near complete.

Once Hard Rock Ottawa officially opens, the casino will welcome guests to its hotel, live theatre, new restaurants, and revitalized and expanded gaming floor.

The new partnership will “come to life” at Charge games through interactive activations and branding opportunities. Fans can also expect high-energy intermission moments and other in-arena experiences.

Fans will also get a chance to get closer to the action through social media contests offering enhanced game-day experiences

Ottawa Charge’s team director, Erin Thompson, said the team is eager to offer fans “more unforgettable experiences.”

Hard Rock is synonymous with legendary moments and leading entertainment—the same energy we strive to bring to Ottawa Charge fans every game. Together, we’re excited to deliver more unforgettable experiences to Ottawa and continue building the passion that makes our city so special.
