On July 23, 2026, one of the biggest gambling companies in the world, Entain, announced its entry into Alberta’s recently opened iGaming market with two of its well-known brands.
According to the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC), the province’s conduct-and-manage entity, PartyCasino and Sports Interaction are now part of the approved list of regulated Alberta online casinos and sportsbooks. This brings the total number of gambling websites live in the province to 24, after the market opened with 22 day-one launches on July 13, 2026.
The two brands are now available for real-money action and carry the AiGC seal of approval.

More Licensed Operators Expected to Join the Party
PartyCasino and Sports Interaction’s arrival isn’t exactly a plot twist — both brands had already registered to enter Alberta’s regulated market, so their approval was more a matter of when than if. The bigger story is what their entry says about where this market is headed.
Alberta didn’t set a cap on how many operators can launch, and roughly 50 entities already hold approvals from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), the same body that runs Play Alberta. That open-door structure means the two Entain brands certainly won’t be the last new names to show up. BET99, Bally Bet, and Betway are among the operators still expected to join.
On top of that, the AGLC has given so-called “grey market” operators — those who were already taking bets in the province without a provincial license — until October 13 to complete the transition or completely shut down.
Ontario offers a preview of how this tends to play out. Alberta’s framework leans heavily on Ontario’s model, and more than four years after that market opened, operators are still joining it. Hard Rock Bet launched there just this week, proof that a mature regulated market doesn’t stop attracting new entrants once the early wave settles.
AiGC CEO Dan Keene struck a similar note in a press release last week, describing an ongoing effort to onboard new operators into the market:
“We will continue to work with operators to strengthen compliance, develop social responsibility programming, and improve player protection tools. This will only be possible through continued collaboration, confidence, and strong participation on a regulatory playing field.”
In other words, Alberta’s iGaming market is still filling out its roster — and PartyCasino and Sports Interaction are just the latest arrivals.
