Hard Rock Digital has finally launched Hard Rock Bet Ontario.
Two months after securing approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), the Seminole Tribe of Florida-owned brand, recognized for its guitar-shaped logo and rock-and-roll theme, began taking real-money action in Ontario as announced on July 22, 2026.
Hard Rock Bet is now live via a desktop site and through the Hard Rock Bet app downloadable from Ontario-based Android and iOS devices.
Now, players in Canada’s most populous province can access the award-winning online casino with its 3,000+ games as well as the mobile sportsbook, which offers parlays across various international sports. Ontario marks the brand’s first international stop outside the 10 U.S. states where it’s already live.
The Ontario debut isn’t a blind expansion. Hard Rock is backing it with a $350 million Ottawa casino resort, a cross-market loyalty program, and a local ad campaign fronted by Toronto rapper Choclair — the same playbook that could carry it into Alberta’s newly opened betting market next. It’s a notable entry into the world of online casinos in Canada, where Hard Rock now has to compete against 48 existing licensed operators just in Ontario.
What’s Actually Live on Hard Rock Bet Ontario
Ontario players 19 years and older can now bet real money on Hard Rock Bet’s combined online casino and sportsbook product. Its structure alone puts it in the same camp as industry heavyweights like BetMGM, Caesars Palace Online Casino & Sportsbook, as well as BetRivers.
The platform launches in Canada’s largest regulated online gambling market with more than 3,000 titles from top providers like Playtech, which holds a small stake in Hard Rock Digital. It also comes with a full sportsbook that covers 20+ sports with thousands of betting markets across local and international events.
While the operator received AGCO licensing back in May 2026, it’s worth noting it took roughly two months to sign its operating agreement with iGaming Ontario (iGO) as required under Ontario iGaming laws.
And although the brand has not been operational in Canada until now, Hard Rock Digital has had an office in Toronto for years, which serves as its regional office and headquarters for its Hard Rock Games social division. All said, Hard Rock Digital has about 200 employees within Ontario.
Why Hard Rock’s $350M Ottawa Casino Gives It an Edge Over Ontario’s 48 Operators
Hard Rock Bet’s choice of Ontario for its first market outside the U.S. isn’t as sudden as it might look. The brand has never run an online betting product in Canada, but its physical footprint here goes back years.
Take British Columbia, for example. The casino now known as Great Canadian Casino Vancouver operated under the Hard Rock name until the property changed hands and was rebranded in late 2023. Ontario tells a similar story, but with a much bigger investment behind it.
The $350 million Hard Rock Hotel & Casino opened in Ottawa in July 2025. It’s built on the site of the former Rideau Carleton Casino, which Hard Rock International had operated since 2017. Now the facility stands as the brand’s first fully integrated casino resort on Canadian soil.
It features a full-service 150-room hotel, 1,500 slot machines, 40 live table games, a high-limit gaming area, more than 10 dining options including a Hard Rock Café, and a Hard Rock Live venue that holds up to 2,200 for concerts.
That physical presence is central to how Hard Rock is positioning itself in Ontario. In its July 22 launch announcement, the company pointed to its Ottawa property as a differentiator in a market that’s grown crowded fast.
Ontario now counts 48 licensed iGaming operators running 82 sites, not including the province-run OLG platform. Few of those operators can point to a full casino resort backing their online operations. Hard Rock joins a short list that includes Mohegan, which pairs its PlayFallsview online product with the Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara, and Caesars Entertainment, which operates Caesars Windsor alongside its online platforms.
Hard Rock is also leaning on loyalty perks to hook new players: a launch-exclusive run of Legendary Reward Drops, plus the ability to earn Unity Points across the casino and sportsbook that can be redeemed in the Hard Rock Bet Reward Store.
“Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa has the reputation of bringing people together for amplified entertainment experiences, and we’re excited to see that spirit extend into the digital space,” said Christine Crump, President of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa. “The launch of Hard Rock Bet is a natural next step for the Hard Rock brand in Ontario, and we look forward to building on that connection with guests and players over time.”
The Ottawa property is also proving to be a reliable earner for the city that hosts it. Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation figures show Ottawa received a $2.7 million payment tied to the casino’s operations on Albion Road — a reminder that Hard Rock’s Ontario bet was already paying off on the ground floor before the app ever launched.
The Launch Campaign: A Choclair Remix and 24/7 Local Support
Hard Rock Bet built its Ontario launch around a 24-hour local customer support operation and a local marketing push fronted by Toronto rapper Choclair.
Rather than lean on a celebrity spokesperson from outside the market, Hard Rock tapped Choclair to rework “Let’s Ride,” a track he first released two decades ago, giving the campaign a nostalgic hook specific to Canadian audiences.
That local grounding carries through the rest of the rollout too. Instead of a straight brand transplant from the 10 U.S. states where it already runs, the approach suggests Hard Rock Bet is treating Ontario as a market to be won on its own terms.
A Miami Marlins Deal Lands the Same Week — But Won’t Move Ontario Bettors
Coinciding with its Ontario launch, Hard Rock Bet also announced a three-year partnership deal with American Major League Baseball (MLB) team Miami Marlins. Through the 2028 season, Hard Rock Bet will be the Marlins’ official sports betting partner, giving the operator a direct line into the Marlins’ home turf.
The deal allows the brand to host in-stadium activations at LoanDepot Park, exclusive promotional tie-ins, and branded content woven into the team’s broadcasts and digital channels. It’s a natural pairing in some ways, primarily because Hard Rock already holds the only legal sportsbook license in Florida. So locking down a home-state MLB team gives it another built-in audience to market to without having to compete for attention.
“As the sports betting landscape continues to evolve, Hard Rock Bet represents foundational innovation and leadership which we are excited to welcome to our Marlins family of partners,” said Robert Gelman, Miami Marlins vice president of partnership development and marketing. “This partnership will deliver exciting rewards and experiences to Marlins fans and Hard Rock Bet players, along with unique content around the team and our games which fans will want to engage with.”
But the timing seems more coincidental than strategic. Ontario bettors have little stake in a Marlins sponsorship. But it does say something about how Hard Rock is scaling right now. The company is running two expansions in parallel: cementing its position where it already has exclusivity, and testing an entirely new international market at the same time.
Baseball’s pull in Canada trails hockey by a wide margin, as only 22% are said to be baseball fans. Ontario is actually the country’s most engaged baseball market, but it’s driven almost entirely by Canadian favorite, the Toronto Blue Jays.
That said, the Marlins partnership plugs Hard Rock mainly into its Florida fanbase, so moving the needle with Ontario bettors is highly unlikely. Still, it’s a useful data point on Hard Rock’s overall momentum heading into the back half of 2026.
Is Alberta Next? Hard Rock Has the Playbook, Not Yet a Plan
On July 13, 2026, Alberta became the second Canadian province with a competitive online gambling market. Twenty-two licensed operators entered the province on day one, and with no limit on the number of approved operators, the door remains wide open for new entrants, including Hard Rock Bet.
Hard Rock Bet already has the playbook it needs to walk through it: a proven Canadian launch, a loyalty system built to travel across markets, and a brand that already knows how to enter a new province.
What Hard Rock doesn’t have, at least not yet, is a confirmed Alberta plan. No licence filing, no launch date, no statement from anyone else at Hard Rock Digital pointing to Alberta specifically.
That silence doesn’t rule it out. It just means the Ontario launch is the test, not the finish line. Ontario proves the international rollout works. The Alberta online casino and sports betting market is sitting right there, still filling out its operator list and still short of a brand with an actual physical Hard Rock property to connect to loyalty perks the way Ottawa does.
