Bonus TL;DR

  • DraftKings added custom cool-off options, allowing customers to choose breaks from 3 to 364 days.
  • The rollout features a Kevin Hart and Nick Jonas digital campaign, plus in-person stadium activations for Gamalyze American Football.

DraftKings has announced a new round of responsible engagement initiatives, adding customer controls, education efforts, and in-person activations aimed at increasing awareness of its safer-play tools.

The company said the rollout includes new custom cool-off options, a digital advertising campaign featuring Kevin Hart and Nick Jonas, and an expanded partnership with Mindway AI through Gamalyze American Football. While the announcement is U.S.-focused, it is notable for Canadian readers because DraftKings is a major North American operator and responsible gambling tools remain a key point of scrutiny across regulated markets.

New custom cool-off options and broader customer controls

Among the clearest product changes is the addition of custom cool-offs, which will let customers choose a break lasting from three to 364 days.

DraftKings said the update builds on its existing responsible engagement toolkit, which already includes My Budget Builder, My Stat Sheet and player-set limits. In a statement, Chief Responsible Gaming Officer Lori Kalani said responsible engagement is “embedded in how we operate” and tied to customer trust and long-term sustainability.

Kalani also said the company has continued to invest in tools and resources that give customers more information about their play and more choices for managing how they engage.

Campaign and activations tied to sports audiences

DraftKings said its digital campaign began on Sept. 10 and will run across digital channels. The company is also launching a PGA TOUR sweepstakes running from Sept. 16 through Sept. 29, with eligible customers entered for a chance to win a trip to THE PLAYERS Championship.

The operator is also expanding its work with Mindway AI through Gamalyze American Football, described as a gamified responsible engagement experience for football fans. DraftKings said it will feature the product during September at the DraftKings Sports Bar at Wrigley Field, at Gillette Stadium for the New England Patriots’ home opener, and at Arrowhead Stadium for the Kansas City Chiefs’ home opener.

The release also pointed to earlier responsible engagement initiatives, including Gamalyze Casino being added to My Budget and Controls in January 2026 and Gamalyze Football being introduced during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

What to watch

The announcement did not provide customer uptake figures or say when the new custom cool-offs will be available across all markets. It also did not detail sweepstakes eligibility by jurisdiction. Those details will be worth watching as operators continue to emphasize player-protection tools alongside product growth.
