Leading Canadian iGaming operator PointsBet Canada has just partnered with the award-winning Bede Gaming to launch a whole new casino aggregation and bonusing platform.
We’re talking about a multi-year partnership agreement that brings new, engaging games from the likes of Games Global, Pragmatic Play, Light & Wonder, and Play’n GO. Pair this with PointsBet’s recent approval from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis (AGLC), and you can sense how serious the operator is to compete against other Alberta online casinos once the regulated market launches in July.
Canadian Appetite for iCasino Products Remains High
If Ontario’s iGaming market is any example, Canadians love their online casino games. Records from iGaming Ontario show that the province’s online casino segment drove 82% of operator revenue compared to 12% from the sports betting market as of March 2026.
Likewise, PointsBet Canada’s first half handle recorded a 4% year-over-year increase, and the numbers behind that headline are worth a closer look. Ontario, the only active regulated province in Canada, was the engine driving that growth. The province contributed AU$24.4 million toward PointsBet’s total H1 revenue of $139.9 million, a 35% year-over-year jump. Canadian players wagered over $700 million during the period.
The iCasino side of the business did the heavy lifting, as expected. Online casino wagers hit $608.5 million. That’s a 14% increase over the previous year. As for iGaming gross profits, they surged 60% to $19.3 million. Sports betting, on the other hand, saw its handle fall 35%. PointsBet attributed the decrease to less VIP player activity and stricter reinvestment margins.
The message is clear. As stated by Brooke Hilton, PointsBet Head of Casino, in an interview with Casino.org, Canada is a heavy casino-first market. And that’s exactly the market PointsBet is building for.
“If we look at the entire Canadian landscape, it’s all shared a very similar history,” Hilton said. “So if someone has been successful in Ontario, it’s very possible that they can also have a successful online casino in Alberta as well. There’s been shared history due to the prevalent grey market, and we’ve been marketed heavily since the early 2000s, players engaging with really strong, mature products out of Europe.”
Bede Gaming – PointsBet Canada Power Duo
As a global leader in supplying iGaming software, Bede Gaming not only brings a rich catalog of games from renowned providers in the industry, but also its award-winning solutions and operational excellence. Through its open API aggregation platform, PointsBet Canada gains additional tools to support player management, automated marketing, and promotional campaigns.
But what makes this deal a perfect match is that it combines PointsBet’s massive Canadian online casino footprint and Bede Gaming’s best-in-class infrastructure, characterized by 99.99% uptime and 24/7 monitoring through its Networ Operations Centre.
Bede has been very vocal about extending its Canadian footprint. With this new agreement, the supplier establishes a shared roadmap for future provincial launches across the Great White North. By adding PointsBet to its Canadian roster, Bede is aligning itself with one of the market’s most ambitious operators at the exact right moment.
Commenting on the launch, Bede Gaming CEO Colin Cole-Johnson said: “We are thrilled to partner with the PointsBet Canada team, and eager to support their ambitious goals in Canada.”
“Our Partnership Model means that we mobilise to support the strategies of our customers, and we’re thrilled to already be demonstrating this through the successful launch of this new casino solution. Bede remains committed to providing stable, secure, and pioneering technical solutions to the North American regulated gaming markets.”
The Alberta Connection
The timing of the PointsBet Canada and Bede Gaming deal isn’t a mere coincidence. PointsBet Canada first spilled the beans about this deal on April 29, 2026, about two months before Alberta iGaming’s go-live date, scheduled for July 13, 2026.
“Our strategy emphasizes delivering outstanding digital content that creates exceptional player engagement,” said Scott Vanderwel, Chief Executive Officer of PointsBet Canada. “I’m excited by the innovative tools we now have available with Bede. This partnership positions us strongly in Ontario and prepares us for future growth across additional Canadian markets.”
PointsBet Ontario was already in the hot seat with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) after receiving a 5-day suspension on February 12, 2026. The allegations trace back to former NBA player Jontay Porter. PointsBet found itself in regulators’ crosshairs over claims of systemic failure over suspicious wagering activity connected to the high-profile case.
By partnering with Bede Gaming, PointsBet Canada is sending a clear message to regulators and players alike: that it’s seriously investing in better technology, stronger player management tools, and a more robust operational framework.
On the other hand, PointsBet is planting its flag in Alberta well ahead of launch day, ready to hit the ground running with a polished iCasino product once the market opens.
