Evergreen and news editorial content creation; analyzing, explaining, and rating different bonus offers.
Tyler Andrews is a seasoned gaming industry analyst and the Content Lead at Bonus.com, where he covers the evolving landscape of gambling expansion across the United States.
Tyler has spoken with state legislators, local and national news correspondents, gaming industry leaders, academics, and the players themselves. He's talked with stakeholders who oppose gambling expansion and those who support it, and while the rift can seem unbridgeable at times, most people want to discuss and be understood. That idea guides his work at Bonus.com.
His work has supported Catena Media’s coverage in key states, including North Carolina, Texas, Pennsylvania, Georgia, California, Florida, Massachusetts, and Ohio.

I grew up in Las Vegas and have worked in the gambling industry since 2022. I started as a freelance news writer focusing on Texas gambling content, moved into a news managing editor role for multiple state-focused gambling sites, and then took over the Content Lead role at Catena Media.
I have worked as a freelance and staff news writer for over 15 years, in the US and abroad. I have also served as Editor in Chief for academic journals at CSU Long Beach and Chapman University.
Tyler is fluent in English and Spanish. Tyler has a working knowledge of French and Japanese.

I grew up in Las Vegas in the days before non-smoking casinos and major league sports. I moved west, attended Cal State Long Beach, and began my journalistic career in the press boxes, pits, and infields of Southern California. I then spent four years in Barcelona, writing for Metropolitan BCN about art, entertainment, and FC Barcelona.
I now live in Santa Fe, NM, where I’ve covered the gaming industry for every major state market. With Bonus.com, I work with a team of writers and editors to shape content that delivers the most important and helpful Bonus-related content to an audience of players and industry analysts alike.
When I’m not playing around with my two daughters, I go to concerts with my wife, play disc golf, collect comic books, and root for the Vegas Golden Knights.

I grew up in Las Vegas, where our closest thing to pro sports was the Las Vegas Stars, an AAA affiliate of the Padres. I saw Pedro Martinez come through when I was a kid, and he blew me (and the Stars) away. I’ve followed him ever since.
Secrets of Pool Hustling by Pretty Boy Floyd. It might not make you into a pool hustler, but you’ll laugh yourself silly.
I didn’t pull the handle, but I still like to claim this one…
My wife, sister-in-law, and I were standing in line for the Caesars Palace buffet one night. My sister-in-law likes the slots, so I pointed her to the Wheel of Fortune machine and told her to go win us dinner. She walked away and came back five minutes later with winnings enough to cover all our dinners.
I gotta go with the Cheers slot, for its nostalgic soundtrack, voice-overs, and the oddly-satisfying sound effects. These kinds of wins don’t hurt either:

Whenever I play a slot machine, I’m never sure what any of it means for about 100 spins. I’m just blithely pushing a button and watching the twirling lights.
I don’t know what this would look like, but a “slot explainer” that showed me, LIKE I’M A KINDERGARTNER, what the symbols do, how the paylines work, and how the bonus rounds get triggered would be ideal.
I gotta go with a Free Spins bonus with low playthrough that I can use on slots of my choosing. Am I asking a lot? Maybe, but it doesn’t hurt to dream. Anyway, like I said above, online slots boggle my mind, so getting to play for free and learn the mechanics helps me feel a lot better about picking a few favorite slots.
In-game or “micro” betting. This concept has significantly boosted handle across all online sportsbooks and shaped the game plan for many of the sports prediction markets we see today.
Go in with a plan, but not too much of a plan. I think it’s important to let the site guide you. You don’t want to invest your money in a site that isn’t enjoyable or natural to navigate.
I also put a lot of stock into the promptness and sincerity of the feedback I get from Customer Support. This is a great way to see how much the site has invested in its players.
