Platform Overview: What Is DraftKings Predictions?
DraftKings Predictions is a peer-to-peer exchange that provides its customers with regulated prediction markets via the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). This platform operates as a CFTC-registered Introducing Broker and National Futures Association (NFA) member, allowing DraftKings Predictions to obtain federal oversight and bypass state-by-state legislation, unlike traditional sportsbook operators.
As a registered customer on DraftKings Predictions, you can buy and sell event contracts, spanning various markets, that provide “Yes”/“No” binary options. You’ll trade these event contracts against other players with a DraftKings Predictions account, eliminating the house edge that’s set by bookmakers on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Launching in December 2025 and rebranding from DraftKings Predict to DraftKings Predictions, the acquisition of Railbird Technologies, a licensed exchange through the CFTC, allowed DraftKings Predictions to go live with a federal regulatory framework. It differentiates from other prediction market operators with an emphasis on sports derivatives, maintaining sports betting odds (-108) instead of prices between $0.00 and $1.00, easing sports bettors into event contract trading processes.
Markets Available on DraftKings Predictions
DraftKings Predictions offers select prediction markets to trade on, depending on your physical location. Let’s dive into each of these available prediction markets and explore the types of event contracts, typical resolution timelines, market variety, liquidity depth, and which type of trader should enter each of these prediction markets.
Sports
Sports markets are the centerpiece of DraftKings Predictions, offering event contracts on moneylines, point spreads, totals, player props, and futures. Unlike most prediction market platforms, DraftKings displays contract pricing in American odds format, making the experience familiar for sports bettors transitioning from traditional wagering.
Sports contracts resolve once the underlying event concludes and official results are confirmed according to the contract’s settlement rules. Resolution timing varies by event and market.
This category is best suited for sports bettors looking for a regulated alternative to traditional sportsbooks while maintaining familiar odds and market formats.
Stock Market
DraftKings Predictions offers event contracts tied to financial markets. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq are the only open markets I found when searching Stock Markets, with most event contracts tailored toward CME E-mini S&P 500 futures (Sep) on an hourly basis (10am ET, 11am ET, etc.). Yes/No options were on Above $7,225.00 or more, scaling in increments of $10 to $25.
Since this market directly follows the stock market exchange, you can trade hourly contracts and standard daily contracts on DraftKings Predictions. Nearly all stock market event contracts will close and resolve on the same day, due to its regulatory oversight from the CFTC.
You can sell your “Yes” or “No” contract back into the market throughout the day if the odds become favorable on your side, or, hold the contract until it expires. You’ll know whether it’s correct or incorrect based on if it settles at $100 or $0 once the time block has passed.
If you’re a day trader or have experience playing the stock market on either the S&P 500 or Nasdaq, this market obviously holds immense appeal, although the American odds attached to a Yes or No outcome are unique. There is also low liquidity in most stock market event contracts.
Economics
When I jumped into the Economics market on DraftKings Predictions, I only saw two events available to trade on. One of these, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for Q2 2026 had all of its contracts locked out, while ECB (European Central Bank) Interest Rates in Jul 2026 had four of five active event contracts.
You can imagine that the liquidity depth in this niche market is just as limited compared to Sports markets and Stock Market. There aren’t many new markets added here since I’ve been a registered customer, although if you do place an order on an event contract, DraftKings Predictions states it will settle once it can verify the status of the data, usually in less than 24 hours. Economics contracts settle after the relevant economic data or policy decision is officially released and verified according to the contract rules.
This category is best suited for traders who closely follow economic data releases and monetary policy developments.
Crypto
DraftKings Predictions currently offers cryptocurrency-focused event contracts centered on Bitcoin and Ethereum price movements. Event contracts include “Bitcoin Price at the End of 2026”, with dozens of “Yes” and “No” options in each specific event. Markets usually ask whether a cryptocurrency will trade above or below a specified price level by a future date.
Settlement occurs once the designated price measurement date is reached and the underlying market data is verified. Contract durations can range from short-term forecasts to longer-term annual predictions.
This category is best suited for users who want exposure to cryptocurrency price speculation without directly buying, holding, or transferring digital assets.
Commodities
Commodity markets on DraftKings Predictions include assets such as crude oil, natural gas, gold, silver, and copper. Contracts typically revolve around whether futures prices will finish above or below specified levels during hourly or daily settlement periods.
Commodities contracts settle based on the timing and reference values outlined in the individual contract specifications. Liquidity generally varies based on the underlying commodity and market interest.
This category is best suited for traders who follow energy and metals markets and want short-term exposure to commodity price movements.
Politics
Political markets allow users to trade contracts tied to elections, nominations, and other government-related outcomes. Available markets include U.S. presidential elections, governor races, congressional contests, and select international political events like the Brazil Presidential Election. Under Presidential Election, I found event contracts ranging from Democratic Presidential Nominee 2028, with Gavin Newsom favored at +300 on “Yes”, with a dozen other candidates to trade on.
Unlike sports markets, political contracts often remain open for months or even years before reaching resolution typically until the relevant election, nomination, or political outcome is officially determined under the contract’s settlement rules. New markets are typically added around major election cycles and political developments.
This category is best suited for traders with strong views on political events who are comfortable holding longer-term positions.
Culture
Trade contracts in DraftKings Predictions’ Culture market feature three total event contracts under TIME, Music, and Video Games. For TIME’s Person of the Year 2026, President Donald Trump is a favorite at +257 “Yes”, alongside Elon Musk at the same price, with U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, the current overall trading favorite at +233.
Most contracts settle when an official winner, recipient, or outcome is publicly announced. Market volume tends to be lighter than sports or financial categories, resulting in fewer available contracts.
This category is best suited for traders who follow popular culture and want exposure to unique event-driven markets that aren’t available through traditional financial products.
Business
This trade market has three event contracts to trade on, starting with the Largest Company end of June 2026. Options include NVIDIA as a massive favorite at -9900 “Yes”, followed by Apple at +1329 “Yes”. The only “No” option to trade is on NVIDIA at +2400. There is also Company with Best AI Model end of June 2026 and OpenAI IPO Date trade markets.
Contract availability is currently limited but offers exposure to major business stories and industry trends. Settlement timelines vary widely depending on the underlying event, ranging from weeks to several months. Liquidity is generally lower than in sports and financial markets.
This category is best suited for traders who closely follow public companies, technology trends, and broader corporate developments.
How Trading Works on DraftKings Predictions
Each predictions market operator has a similar function but a specific mechanic for how it permits trading on its platform. I’ll walk you through exactly how trading works on DraftKings Predictions to provide insight and clarity into this process.
No matter which market you’re trading in on DraftKings Predictions, you’ll be dealing with binary “Yes” “No” event contracts. Every contract is priced between $0.01 and $0.99, settling at either $1.00 or $0.00 depending on the outcome.
Since DraftKings Predictions is a peer-to-peer exchange, the pricing is fully determined by the liquidity between buyers and sellers. There is no house bookmaker to set these odds, unlike what you’ll get on DraftKings Sportsbook.
To buy a Yes or No position on an event contract, you can simply tap on the side you want to place an order on, which populates your trade slip. Type in the amount you’d like to buy, and your full payout, including the stake, will be displayed.
Unlike other prediction market operators, DraftKings Predictions utilizes American odds on its ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ contract pricing, which makes it easier for sports bettors to assimilate to its platform. If I buy a ‘Yes’ position at -144, I’ll earn $63 of profit, with a total payout of $163. DraftKings Predictions does not currently display a per-cent rate.
There are no limit orders available on DraftKings Predictions, meaning it exclusively features market orders, allowing you to instantly buy or sell event contracts based on the latest market spread. No custom orders can be bought or sold to match at this time.
An event contract settles via market resolution once DraftKings Predictions can verify its data for a particular event. However, a lot of traders will sell their contract before it resolves, whether odds change in your favor, or start moving the opposite direction, selling an event contract is a popular strategy to maximize profit or mitigate losses.
Fees and Pricing for DraftKings Predictions
This brings us into the fees and pricing on event contracts for DraftKings Predictions. It’s a tiered fee structure that varies between $0.01 to $0.02 per event contract, acting as a flat commission, regardless of whether you buy or sell.
Each transaction that you make on DraftKings Predictions has a fee attached for each individual event contract, sitting at $0.01 for contracts priced between $0.01 and $0.19 and $0.97 to $0.99. If your event contract is priced between $0.20 to $0.96, there is a $0.02 fee charged per dollar bought or sold.
So, if you purchase $100 worth of contracts at -150 odds, you’ll be charged $0.02 per dollar. This means your trade order will cost $102 with an additional $2.00 in fees tacked on.
You won’t have to worry about maker/taker fees on DraftKings Predictions, since limit orders aren’t available. The same goes for settlement fees, which do not get enforced right now.
When you make a deposit or withdraw from your DraftKings Predictions account, no matter which payment method you use, there are no fees charged with either transaction.

Deposit Options
Let’s run through the payment methods available for deposit options on DraftKings Predictions. Note, you must deposit with a preferred payment method before it can be used for withdrawal.
Most primary payment methods are available to DraftKings Predictions customers when it comes to making a deposit. This includes debit card, restricted to Mastercard and Visa, while e-wallet options like Apple Pay, PayPal, and Venmo are all supported. You can also link your online bank via ACH, although it may take up to 3 business days to show funds withdrawn from your account.
The good news is that you won’t incur any deposit fees for any of these deposit options on DraftKings Predictions.
Withdrawal Process
Remember, in order to make a withdrawal request on DraftKings Predictions, you must use your preferred payment method for a deposit to become a valid and accessible withdrawal option.
DraftKings Predictions typically processes withdrawal requests between 1-2 business days. The quickest processing time is attached to e-wallets, like ApplePay, although debit card withdrawal tends to clear within 24 hours. Online bank transfers via ACH can take up to five business days.
Hold periods will be triggered when you either have unsettled funds from an open trade order, not satisfying 1x playthrough requirements, failure to complete KYC verification, or if you attempt to withdraw right after making a deposit. This latter scenario can result in a withdrawal request being put on hold for up to 4 business days.
Platform and App Experience
Desktop Experience
My experience on DraftKings Predictions desktop was a bit underwhelming. It limited my access to certain markets, which may be due to my location in a partially restricted state. However, the familiar user interface, paired with green and black themes, created an enjoyable and familiar navigation similar to exploring sports betting markets on DraftKings Sportsbook.
There is virtually no visibility into the order book on DraftKings Predictions’ desktop platform. Clicking on the menu bar icon in the upper-left hand corner of the screen did populate the My Trades hub, which was seemingly the only way to find my Open and Settled trades.
When I manually searched for markets on desktop, I found way more markets at my disposal than when I click on the “Explore Markets” tab in the “My Trades” section. While this was a pleasant surprise, the inconsistency for markets populating in one central location was definitely frustrating.
Mobile App
I downloaded the DraftKings Predictions mobile app onto my iOS device from the App Store. It’s leagues above the desktop version, primarily due to better visibility for all of its available trading markets.
The navigation bar along the bottom of the screen helps centralize the platform, with Home, Search, My Trades, and Rewards tabs cleanly presented. It took me seconds to scroll through the Home tab and locate new trading markets that didn’t show up on desktop, like Crypto, Commodities, Politics, Culture, and Business. Even the same market had different events, like Economics, which only gave me US Recession in 2026 on mobile.
I still didn’t like the overall lack of transparency when it comes to showing how many traders and trades are being bought and sold in specific markets and event contracts. I understand that there limit orders and strictly market order availability factors into this build, but more visibility into these metrics would be a nice feature on DraftKings Predictions’ mobile app.
Safety, Regulation and Trust
DraftKings Predictions currently operates its platform legally under federal regulation from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) due to offering financial derivatives and event contracts. Gus III LLC operates in conjunction with DraftKings Predictions, which is an introducing broker and member of the National Futures Association (NFA) due to its registration with the CFTC.
User funds are held in segregated accounts to protect from fraud and separate it from DraftKings Predictions’ own monetary valuation. Without a fixed maximum exposure cap on how many contracts you can buy, DraftKings Predictions does price its event contracts from $0.01 to $0.99, so the only additional debt to incur from a loss is tied to its $0.01 to $0.02 exchange fees.
KYC (Know Your Customer) is mandatory to complete before any deposit or withdrawal transactions can be made on DraftKings Predictions. This means you’ll have to verify your identity, which includes uploading a government-issued photo ID and a statement or bill to show proof of address.
Recently, DraftKings registered its event contracts as DKeX exchange entity. It’s now registered as a DCM (Designated Contract Market), meaning binary event contracts under a federally regulated board of trade.

Best Alternatives to DraftKings Predictions
Novig
Novig is a prime destination for traders looking to leverage sports markets with the ability to customize their own trades with limit orders. It’s different from DraftKings Predictions, since there are no event contract fees, and Novig steps in with a 1-4 percent bump on spreads with low market liquidity.
Polymarket
Polymarket has every single trading market under the sun. This includes sports markets. Limit orders are accepted and encouraged on its platform, so you can trade on your exact price if it’s matched by another trader, whether you’re a buyer or a seller in a particular market. Cryptocurrency is also an accepted payment method.
Kalshi
Kalshi is similar to Polymarket, although some of its markets are a bit less extensive, including politics, culture, and finance. If you’re looking to trade on sports, there are plenty of sports markets available on Kalshi. Note that event contract fees are higher on Kalshi, starting at $0.07 compared to $0.01 or $0.02 on DraftKings Predictions. Cryptocurrency is an accepted payment method and can be traded on Kalshi.
Final Verdict
Federally regulated by the CFTC, DraftKings Predictions’ willingness to display American odds displayed on all of its binary event contracts helps casual or new traders ease into the process of buying and selling trade orders. This is especially helpful if accustomed to traditional sports betting, while contract fees don’t go above $0.02 per dollar bought or sold.
The main concerns with DraftKings Predictions center on its low market liquidity and lack of limit orders. Since you cannot customize trades to get a match as a buyer or seller, you’re forced to take the best available market price, although it is set by other traders on this peer-to-peer exchange.
If you’re looking to make a jump into prediction markets, DraftKings Predictions is a strong operator to consider joining. It has expanded its market diversity since launching, and has low contract fees, while setting its “Yes” and “No” binary event contracts into American odds to help new customers or sports bettors transition into trading.
