Quick Take:

Novig is one of several prediction market operators available for trading. Prediction markets may feel a bit confusing or risky at first, especially if you’re used to other sports betting and investing platforms. However, I’ve spent time actively trading on Novig, and this review helps explain exactly how Novig operates.

Novig is a regulated peer-to-peer sports betting exchange that operates with a dual-currency sweepstakes model. Essentially, you can trade sports betting predictions by making your own price for others to match, or accept current odds that are available in a particular sports betting market, which eliminates the vigorish, or vig, that other popular sportsbook operators enforce to maintain a house edge for profit.

In this review, we’ll learn more about the markets available to trade on Novig, plus its mechanics, security protocol, and fees associated with deposits and withdrawals. New players can sign up to unlock a no-deposit welcome bonus for 1,000 Novig Coins and 5 Novig Cash.

Qualify for a first-purchase bonus with our Novig Promo Code to choose between a bet-and-get offer (spend $5, get $50) or a 10% discount off your first-purchase from Novig’s Coin Store, maxing out with 100,000 Novig Coins and 100 Novig Cash.

Let’s dive into this exclusive social sports prediction market operator and learn more about how to trade on Novig and what else to expect on one of the nation’s most popular peer-to-peer exchange systems.

My Experience Using Novig

I had an overall quality experience using and trading on Novig. While it can take a bit of time to get adjusted from standard sports betting operators, the unique peer-to-peer sports prediction marketplace is undoubtedly Novig’s best feature.

If you’re accustomed to playing sweepstakes casinos, which use dual-currency under No Purchase Necessary law, then you’ll likely have a quicker learning curve on Novig. I like being able to trade with free-to-play Novig Coins, while players who prefer Novig Cash can trade on sports betting markets to withdraw real cash from a registered Novig account.

When I found odds that I liked on Novig, I was able to just tap on the line to launch the Order Type window, which defaults to Take. However, with the option to Make and request your own odds, it took me longer to adapt to the functionality attached to this part of Novig’s peer-to-peer exchange model.

I found consistently good odds in terms of value on Novig compared to other lines on popular online sportsbook operators. Due to its peer-to-peer sports betting exchange, odds can be at least 5 to 10 cents better, like finding the New York Mets moneyline at -136 instead of -146.

Is Novig Legit, Safe & Regulated?

We’re going to explore the legitimacy, safety, and current regulatory framework surrounding Novig in this section. In an ever-changing landscape of legislation, it’s important to understand where operators like Novig stand to help instill trust when trading on its platform.

Regulation & Legal Status

So what’s the difference between trading versus gambling? It can be a fairly thin line. Trading is where you can find an edge from market analysis, like Novig’s peer-to-peer exchange, instead of dealing with a house edge that is baked into betting markets on other regulated and licensed sportsbook operators. However, Novig does mirror other aspects of gambling, since you cannot directly sell or exit out of a trade order until the event settles.

How User Funds Are Protected

There are a few different ways that Novig protects user funds when trading on its platform. Segregated accounts are one of these methods.

With a segregated account, your funds are subject to state regulatory oversight. This helps separate your account balance from Novig’s exchange.

Novig does not enforce position limits. Since all trading is done through its peer-to-peer exchange, the absence of a house edge means Novig is making its profit elsewhere, primarily through optional purchases in its Coin Stores. You won’t be limited or restricted on your trade order totals.

Novig requires all customers complete a “Know Your Customer (KYC)” section. This is just a detailed verification process that requires photo identification, along with other personal identifying information methods, which is commonly enforced on platforms that utilize a sweepstakes No Purchase Necessary model like Novig. KYC is required before you can make a withdrawal.

Anti-money laundering (AML) is another verification process that Novig uses to prevent fraud from occurring on its platform. There is also active monitoring of suspicious trade activity and patterns, along with scanning for multiple accounts and bonus manipulation.

What Is Novig & How Do Prediction Markets Work?

If you’re unfamiliar with prediction markets or how they work, this section will help break down exactly what Novig offers as a peer-to-peer sports betting exchange platform.

Markets Available on Novig

Unlike other competitors in the prediction market industry, which allow players to trade on markets like politics, entertainment, finance, and cryptocurrency, Novig solely focuses on sports markets, making it a social sportsbook app.

Sports Markets

Unlike sportsbooks, which maintain a house edge with their vig, Novig allows users to determine odds by trading sports event contracts against each other. This leads to better pricing and a unique set of strategies when deciding whether to make or take an order.

You’re still trading on sports betting markets and popular sides, it’s just in a “Yes” or “No” fashion, ranging from moneyline and point spreads, to over/under totals, player props, game props, futures, and parlays.

If you’re tired of having to lay a ton of vig, or juice, on traditional sportsbooks, then Novig’s peer-to-peer exchange could be a nice way to transition into prediction markets. It may take a bit of time to get up to speed, however, I find trading against other registered players a lot more valuable when seeking entertainment on my favorite sporting events.

Trading Fees Explained icon

Trading Fees Explained

There are no direct fees for take or make orders when you place them on Novig. Make orders provide liquidity to Novig sports markets, which is why you get rewarded with Novig Points, which can be redeemed for Novig Cash prizes, when a custom make order is matched by another player.

Take orders means you are accepting the current price or odds on a particular sports betting market. Therefore, you’re taking liquidity out of that market. Unlike make orders, this does not yield Novig Points.

Since there is 0% commission charged by Novig on winning bets, the incentive to hedge out of a bet goes way up. When you place opposing trades on the same game, part of your payout becomes instant no matter which side wins. This guaranteed portion is detected by Novig and instantly credited to your account, with the remaining uncertain portion settled after the game.

This scenario is exactly why arbitrage bettors should seriously consider playing on Novig.

Limits & Risk Control icon

Limits & Risk Control

You must trade at least $5 of Novig Cash to satisfy the minimum limit on Novig. Novig also does not enforce position limits or ban winning traders for accruing too much profit.

However, Novig will be limited based on market liquidity, especially with Make orders, as they only get filled if other players wind up matching the other side of your custom, proposed trade. You will also be restricted to $10,000 daily redemptions on Novig, reduced to $5,000 when playing in Florida.

Deposits, Withdrawals & Payment Methods

Novig offers a few convenient payment methods that can be used for deposits and withdrawals on its platform. Find your preferred option below. Note that credit cards and Apple Pay are only available for deposits.

Platform & App Experience

Playing on Novig’s platform provided a seamless experience. While Novig is accessible on desktop, you can only trade orders on the Novig mobile app, which is available to download onto iOS and Android devices.

Desktop Experience

I was able to log in to my Novig account on desktop, which has the same layout as the mobile app. However, the inability to trade orders in this version of Novig renders it largely useless, aside from checking lines, your Portfolio, or seeking support.

Mobile App Experience

My experience with the Novig app on iOS was extremely satisfactory. The navigation is smooth, while the trade order window allowed me to filter by Game Status and Order Status.

The Novig Points tab is also a user-friendly interface that highlights exactly how you can earn Novig Points to redeem into Novig Cash. Monthly Challenges, Daily Login bonuses, and specific event specials were all easily accessible and explained.

Customer Support & Help Resources

The customer support available on Novig contained a lot of helpful resources. However, it’s a bit difficult to locate on the Novig mobile app. Tap on your Account tab and then tap the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.

A list of Support options populates. Help Center and Contact Us were the best options I experienced to get support. The Help Center contains 10 collections of articles, ranging from General Questions, to Playing & Winning, Payments, and much more. It includes a useful search feature as well.

Tapping the Contact Us option launches more direct customer support lines, starting with Viggy, the app’s AI chatbot. You can also request a human customer support agent.

How Novig Compares to Other Prediction Markets

Now that we know how Novig operates, including its primary features, let’s compare it to other prominent prediction market operators.

Key Differences

Novig is the only operator of these four prediction market operators that does not include other markets like politics, science, finance, culture, and technology. Polymarket charges 0.75% on maker fees, while Kalshi charges $0.01 to $0.07 per contract in high-liquidity markets. Kalshi runs $0.02 per event contract. Novig is the only operator with commission-free event contracts.

Who This Platform Is Best For

Novig caters to sports fans and sports bettors. It’s the only sports-centric prediction market, with its entire premise surrounding no vig due to its peer-to-peer exchange, where players set the odds and compete against each other. Arbitrage bettors and plus EV bettors also greatly benefit from the platform’s structure to hedge.

Who Should Avoid It

If you’re looking to trade on other markets, like government and politics, entertainment, pop culture, science, technology, or cryptocurrency, you should avoid Novig. International players cannot trade on Novig outside of the U.S. If you prefer more traditional sports betting, Novig may be worth avoiding.

Final Verdict – Is Novig Worth Using?

Novig is a prediction market app that eliminates the traditional house edge enforced on other sportsbook operators with its peer-to-peer exchange. This allows players to trade against each other, while taking or making custom orders, typically resulting in higher value lines to wager.

Regulated by the CFTC, it’s a legitimate prediction market operator that encourages arbitrage betting, or hedging, while all trades are commission-free.

If you’re seeking a new sports betting experience and want to avoid the vig on sportsbooks, Novig is your ideal prediction market destination.
