MGM Resorts-owned Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa continues to evolve its guest experience with upgrades to its gaming floor, which begin construction later this week.
Atlantic City’s retail casino market leader and “premier” East Coast gaming destination announced the “significant” improvements on Sep. 3. According to the release shared with Bonus, the upgrades—scheduled to begin on Friday—are a response to guests’ “ever-changing needs and desires.”
In the announcement, Nik Rytterstrom, Borgata’s president and COO, said the changes will challenge expectations.
We couldn’t be more excited about this project as we look ahead to this next phase of Borgata’s evolution. These enhancements are not just about maintaining our position in the market — they’re about pushing the boundaries of what our guests can expect from a world-class gaming destination.
Renos to Add ‘Fresh Energy’ to Gaming Experience
The transformation will kick off on Sep. 6 with the closure of Gypsy Bar. In reimagining its gaming floor, Borgata intends to infuse the resort with “fresh energy” and enrich visitors’ gaming experience. Although Borgata has not shared an estimated completion date, the renovations will feature “vibrant new designs with a contemporary touch.”
To ensure each guest’s journey is rife with “excitement, discovery, and indulgence,” Borgata is adding a new Asian eatery to its culinary options. Also on the renovation menu is a new bar catering to rare liquors from around the world.
Borgata says the upgrades extend the casino resort’s “unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence.” The latest changes follow earlier enhancements, including a refreshed cocktail menu at Borgata’s revitalized Long Bar and the introduction of the casino’s Overlook event space.
Details surrounding the casino’s renovations and new venues will follow in the coming months. As it stands, Borgata boasts 2000 “luxurious” rooms and suites and 161,000 square feet of gaming space. It also has over 100,000 square feet of event space, including its 2,400-seat Event Center, 900-seat Music Box Theatre, and Premier Nightclub.
Other amenities include two retail sportsbooks, 11 retail boutiques, 13 casual to fine dining eateries, and Spa Toccare. Borgata also offers indoor and outdoor pools, a Roman-style outdoor garden, and its namesake Borgata Beer Garden. Further, the property’s recently renovated MGM Tower at Borgata (formerly the Water Club) features another 757 guest rooms, additional event space, pools, and retail shops.
During the first half of this year, Borgata said guests occupied its rooms 71.1% of the time at an average nightly rate of $175.29.
