March 2026 marked the first time in the history of Pennsylvania iGaming that online slots revenue exceeded $200 million. The uptick comes on the back of $5.25 billion in total monthly handle, which is also a record figure.
Hollywood Casino Skins Lead the Way
The highs were led by Hollywood Casino’s lineup of DraftKings, BetMGM, Fanatics, and the Hollywood Casino app, which brought in $85.5 million collectively — accounting for approximately 42.5% of the statewide total.
Valley Forge Casino follows not too far behind, largely on the backs of FanDuel, registering $73.8 million in online slot revenue. Rivers Casino is a distant third, earning $36.2 million in March primarily through the BetRivers and Borgata brands. Here’s a full look at online slot revenue by licensee:

Though the state doesn’t release handle information for individual slot games, titles like 88 Fortunes, Divine Fortune, and Cleopatra are often cited as some of the most popular games in the state.
$108 Million in Taxes
In Pennsylvania, online slots are taxed at an effective rate of 54%. The state tax is 34%, and the Local Share Assessment (LSA) is 20%. This is significantly higher than the tax rate for online table games, which is just 16%.
Based on the $201.4 million generated by slots in March, the state collected approximately $108.7 million from this vertical alone. Roughly $68.48 million of this total is earmarked for the Property Tax Relief Fund, providing a direct benefit to Pennsylvania homeowners, while the remaining $40.28 million is directed toward local economic development and community grants.
Online Growth Comes Amidst Retail Declines
Despite growth in the online segment, the retail slot sector in Pennsylvania faced a notable cooling period in March 2026, with revenue dropping 3% year-over-year to $216.2 million.
This decline was not isolated to a few struggling properties but was instead a widespread trend. During the month, 14 of the state’s 17 brick-and-mortar casinos reported year-over-year losses on their slot floors. Even the state’s traditional heavyweights were not immune to this softening demand; Parx Casino, which remains the top-grossing physical casino in the Commonwealth, saw its retail slot revenue dip.
As the market matures, online casinos (and online slots specifically) are expected to be the primary growth engine behind PA gaming.
