Just two months after launching for AndroidPokerStars has launched a non-VR version of Vegas Infinite—its virtual reality social casino—for PlayStation 5 (PS5). The launch gives Vegas Infinite fans yet another “no headset required” way to immerse themselves in the popular free-to-play casino metaverse. Apple mobile device users, however, are still waiting for their Vegas Infinite invite.

Launched in 2018 as PokerStars VR, in late 2023, the “groundbreaking virtual reality experience” rebranded to Vegas Infinite and added more casino-style game offerings. A few weeks later, PokerStars—a Flutter Entertainment subsidiary—introduced the game’s VR-optional PC version. The game’s non-VR Android version followed in May of this year.

In today’s launch announcement, James O’Reilly, PokerStars’ director of disruptive innovation, said the new release brings Vegas Infinite to a whole new audience.

Launching on PS5 introduces a brand-new audience of console players to Vegas Infinite and gives everyone the chance to be part of our community whatever their platform of choice. We’ve been working tirelessly with our development partners at Lucky VR to rework our game for console and I’m very proud of the result. The controls are intuitive, the multiplayer gameplay is lively and compelling, and we’ve taken full advantage of the immense power of PlayStation 5 to showcase the depth and vibrancy of our environments. I can’t wait to explore them with our players.

Vegas Infinite on PS5—No Headset Required

Because of the latest update, PS5 users aged 18 plus can now download and jump into Vegas Infinite for free—with no PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2) headset required.

Armed only with PlayStation’s DualSense wireless controller, PS5 players can challenge friends and foes in Vegas Infiinite’s “high-rolling, stake-raising universe,” including those playing via VR. Once inside the gameworld, PS5 players can access Vegas Infinite’s collection of “authentic play money casino games,” rendered with 4K graphics and “ultra-smooth” gameplay.

In addition to cash and multi-table tournament poker, players can access roulette, blackjack, and an “electrifying portfolio” of slots, with craps “just around the corner.”

Inside the game, players can personalize their characters with customizable accessories and “hundreds” of interactive props while interacting with opponents in real time. Players can also choose from a “huge” selection of immersive environments, including private suites, a galactic space station, and PokerStars’ luxurious Casino One destination.

Apple Users Still Waiting for Vegas Infinite iOS

At first launch in 2018, PokerStars made Vegas Infinite (PokerStars VR) available via the Meta Quest and Steam platforms. Then, in early 2023, the game launched its virtual reality edition for Sony PlayStation.

After one of the most significant updates in the game’s history, Vegas Infinite’s non-VR version launched for PC later that September. Since introducing that no headset-required tech, PokerStars added versions for Android and now PS5.

While there’s no option to play Vegas Infinite on iPhone and iPad just yet, in May, a PokerStars rep told Bonus an iOS version is “currently being worked on.” However, the release date remains unconfirmed at the time of publication.

In the meantime, Vegas Infinite is available for play on a variety of platforms:

  • Desktop PC (Non-VR)
  • Android (Non-VR)
  • Meta Quest (VR)
  • PlayStation PSVR2 (VR)
  • PS5 (Non-VR)
  • Steam (VR/Non-VR)

Further, players can save their progress across most available platforms with a Vegas Infinite account. The exception is Sony, which only supports cross-play between PlayStation platforms.

Players without an account can set one up via Meta Quest, Steam, or Android. All they need is an email and password to get started.

All Vegas Infinite players have access to in-game safety tools. The toolbox includes instruments to help players take a break, set spending limits, review player reports, and limit in-game interactions.
