My Experience with Fanatics Casino

Before writing this review, I didn’t have much hands-on experience with Fanatics Casino. This is because I usually play on my desktop or laptop computers, but Fanatics Casino is an app-only experience. As I progressed through my testing, I quickly regretted not playing with Fanatics Casino sooner.

In today’s crowded online casino landscape, this is an extremely respectable score and is only taken down by a few extremely minor nitpicks. Overall, I think that there’s a lot to love about Fanatics Casino and not much to dislike. I’ll cover the main points of this in the pros and cons I’ve put together below.

Where I Found Fanatics Casino Available

Fanatics Casino is currently available in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. So, it covers the main states that have legalized and regulated real-money online casinos.

My online casino testing and play were all conducted in New Jersey, where Fanatics Casino has been since 2023 after taking over from PointsBet. I generally find that New Jersey online casinos are some of the most robust offerings, as the market is the oldest in the country. That being said, I believe Fanatics Casino offers a strong platform throughout. It is worth noting here that the choice of welcome bonuses is not available in West Virginia, and players there are limited to the Casino Credit offer.

Navigating Fanatics Casino: My Impressions of the Platform

Fanatics Casino is available via iPhone and Android app only, with no desktop site or mobile web option. While this may seem slightly restrictive at first, it allows Fanatics to put all of its effort into creating an excellent mobile platform that you can take with you wherever you go. In my opinion, this focus and exclusive attention to the mobile platform shines through throughout the entire player experience.

Once you launch the Fanatics Casino app, you’ll find the casino offering by tapping the “Casino” button at the bottom right of the app. Beyond that, you’ll notice quickly that the app heavily leans towards the sportsbook side of the platform, which is seamlessly integrated. That being said, I didn’t have any trouble keeping to the casino side or finding anything within the casino side once I was there. The submenu at the top had categories that made perfect sense – I was able to easily access promos, slots, table & card, live dealer, and anything else I needed.

If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you know I prefer to have the main categories featured prominently, followed by more curated categories next. The Fanatics Casino app does a great job of this with the top navigation bar. Beyond that, the main page is a little scattered between broad categories and curated categories, but they are all actually very well thought out and include helpful selections, such as games that currently offer FanCash Boosts (more about this in the VIP & Loyalty Rewards section below), new games, and the top 10 games in your state.

The promotions page is a mixed bag for me. On one hand, I appreciate that they’ve kept actual promotions at the top of the page. On the other hand, I would prefer not to have as much non-limited-time promotion bloat on it. Along with my promotions, I found that it also listed quite a few exclusive games, which aren’t necessarily promotions. All things considered, this is just a nitpick and wouldn’t bother me much if I wasn’t focused on a detailed review process.

Once you tap into a specific game category, there’s not much in terms of navigation. You can either scroll the games or use the search bar at the top. I wasn’t able to find any options for filtering by game provider, theme, mechanic, etc., which I prefer but do not need. If you are looking to have some games broken out by theme or mechanic, there are categories that do so on the main “Home” tab.

My platform experience beyond that was seamless, intuitive, and enjoyable. Everything I did on the app was snappy and fast, and I had no trouble doing what I wanted to do at any time. Aside from a few small wishlist items that I mentioned earlier, I honestly don’t see much to be improved here. I think it’s one of the best casino apps available today.

Exploring the Games: What I Found & What Stands Out

I’ll preface this section by saying that often, online casino game selections and counts may vary slightly from state to state, and this section has been written based on my experience as a player in New Jersey. However, I do believe that Fanatics Casino offers a very similar experience in all of the states in which it operates, as there is one dedicated app for every state.

Slot Games

Fanatics Casino doesn’t have the largest selection of slots in the market, but I did notice that it’s very well-curated. It features games with plenty of mechanics, including Slingo, Megaways, and more, and in all formats, from 3-reel steppers to modern video slots.

All of the main game providers are represented here as well, including IGT, NetEnt, Light & Wonder, and even providers that are perhaps lesser known, such as Wazdan, ELK, and more. I appreciated the more unique categories on the “Home” tab of the app, pictured above, which allowed me to discover slots that I may not have known about otherwise, and which may have gotten buried when scrolling the entire slots catalog.

Table & Live Dealer Games

Fanatics Casino has all of the typical table games you’d expect at online casinos, including blackjack, baccarat, roulette, and more. The selection isn’t the largest, but it is very appealing for other reasons.

For one, there are plenty of variations for each game type, allowing you to dive into options with side bets and other unique features. In addition, Fanatics boasts quite a few exclusive table games, including the prominently featured Fanatics Multi-Hand Blackjack in the screenshot above. You’ll also find other exclusives, such as Fanatics Fire Roulette and Fanatics Blackjack.

Fanatics Fire Roulette is one that particularly caught my eye – aside from the typical roulette gameplay, it also features multipliers up to 500x for a chance at huge payouts. If you hit a Fire number with a Straight Up bet, you’ll win The Fire Number Multiplier.

The live dealer game catalog also features some exclusives, such as Fanatics Blackjack Live and Fanatics VIP Blackjack Live. I found everything from classic table games like blackjack to less popular options such as Sic Bo to gameshow-style options such as Dream Catcher, Stock Market, and more. Live dealer games are provided by Evolution, which is one of the leading live providers in the market.

Does Fanatics Casino Offer Games You Can’t Find Elsewhere?

It does, but not many that I could find. Aside from the exclusive table and live dealer games I mentioned above, there appears to be just one exclusive slot. In my experience, the hardest part about the exclusive games is finding them, as there is no dedicated exclusive game section that I could find. However, any exclusive game will have a prominent red “Exclusive” flag on it as you’re browsing the game catalog, so they aren’t too hard to find.

Specialty Games

There aren’t many specialty games outside of an “Arcade” section that primarily plays host to LuckyTap games, which are technically slots. Beyond that, you won’t find bingo or other unique “originals” at Fanatics Casino.

VIP & Loyalty Rewards: Is It Worth the Commitment?

Fanatics Casino offers a unique rewards program via FanCash. While it’s not a fully fleshed-out VIP or loyalty program, it offers a straightforward and unique perk to playing at Fanatics Casino.

How the Loyalty Program Works

I’m a sucker for simple, straightforward rewards, and Fanatics Casino delivers on that front. When you play any game at Fanatics Casino, you earn FanCash. For every $1 of FanCash you earn, you can convert it to $1 in store credit at Fanatics or $1 in Casino Credit to be played on the casino. It’s as simple as that.

The earning schedule is similarly simple – players earn 0.2% on casino slots and 0.05% on casino table games. All that said, this is a breath of fresh air as we know how complicated and hard-to-understand online casino rewards programs can be.

My Experience with the VIP Perks

As for my personal experience, I love the option to convert FanCash to Fanatics store credit. As a sports fan, the idea that I can turn casino play into merch for my favorite teams is pretty cool. I also appreciate the simplicity of the program as a whole. Although it doesn’t offer perks outside of additional earnings for your play, it does add a new dimension and make me feel like I’m getting a little bit more for what I’m doing.

If you’re earning FanCash by playing slots, the earning schedule actually beats out a lot of competition. For every $1,000 in slot wagers, you’ll earn $2 in FanCash. In comparison, you’d earn $1 with the same $1,000 in slot wagers from the fan-favorite Caesars Rewards. Similarly, you’d earn $1 with $1,100 in slot wagers from DraftKings Dynasty Rewards.

So, in reality, your earning schedule is slightly better than other industry-leading online casino rewards if you’re playing slots. Playing table games definitely makes it more challenging to earn FanCash, but at least the earning schedule is clear-cut and straightforward. Now, typically, I like to see multiple live support options, such as phone, email, and live chat. Initially, I didn’t feel great that Fanatics Casino only offered live chat. However, as I tested the live chat feature, I found that it was adequate to have my concerns resolved quickly and easily.

How Fanatics Casino Stacks Up Against Competitors

My Key Takeaways

Overall, Fanatics Casino is an excellent option in all aspects of the player experience. The biggest takeaway here, in relation to competitors, is that Fanatics Casino is only available via an app. Beyond that, everything else stacks up fantastically, and I would have no problem recommending it as a great landing spot for online casino players.

Who Should Play Here?

As for which online casino players I’d recommend it to, I honestly feel like Fanatics Casino appeals to all casino players – that is, with one potential exclusion. With my testing and experience in mind, as well as my knowledge of other online casinos, I do believe that there are better high-roller casinos for players who have a big bankroll.
