Pennsylvania Online Poker 2025

Pennsylvania online poker has been up and running for several years, with PA one of the few states in the US that allow player-versus-player real money online poker. Even better, PA recently joined a multi-state agreement that allows PA to share its player pool with online poker sites in other states.

Here is a full guide to the current state of online poker in Pennsylvania with information about available sites and all the different games and tournaments they offer. Find updates as well regarding PA online poker bonuses and promotions and all the latest news regarding new PA online poker.

Best PA Online Poker Sites

Our team of experts at Bonus.com have tested all of the online poker sites in PA to determine the best options. Here are our top recommended PA online poker sites:

1. BetMGM Poker Pennsylvania

  • Welcome Bonus: 100% up to $1,000 + up to $85 in Tournament Tickets on Deposit
  • Bonus Code: PLAYCHIP
  • Accessible Via: BetMGM Desktop App, BetMGM iOS App, BetMGM Android App
  • Retail Partner: Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course

BetMGM PokerBetMGM Poker was among the first online poker sites to go live in PA. Although BetMGM and Borgata Poker operate under two unique brands, each of these poker sites is powered by the same PartyPoker US Network software and the two sites share a player pool.

When you make your first deposit on the site, you’ll receive a 100% deposit match worth up to $1,000 in restricted bonus funds. You’ll need to satisfy a playthrough requirement to receive that bonus money, but the good news is the bonus gets released in increments of $20 as you do and you have 120 days to satisfy it.

That first deposit also earns you an extra bonus worth up to $85 in free tournament tickets. Deposit $10-$499 to get $25 in tickets, $500-$999 to get $55 in tickets, or $1,000 or more to get the full $85 in tickets.

Beyond the great welcome offer, another good reason to join BetMGM Poker is having full access to the BetMGM Casino and Sportsbook, which are among the best options for casino gaming and sports betting in Pennsylvania.

2. WSOP.com Pennsylvania

  • Welcome Bonus: 100% Match up to $1,000 & Up to $100 Bonus Play on Deposit
  • Bonus Code: 25BONUS
  • Accessible Via: WSOP Desktop App, WSOP iOS App, WSOP Android App
  • Retail Partner: Harrah’s Philadelphia

WSOP.com PokerEven people who never played poker know about the World Series of Poker. WSOP.com has a partnership with Harrah’s Philadelphia to offer both offline and online poker in the state.

The WSOP.com welcome offer is actually similar to the one at BetMGM. First up, with your initial deposit on the site you get a 100% deposit match worth up to $1,000 in bonus money. There is a wagering requirement attached to this offer, too, in this case distributed in $5 increments and you have 90 days to play enough to earn all of it.

Meanwhile, if you deposit $10-$250 you get a $25 bonus made up of tourney tickets and free play. Depositing more gets you a larger bonus, up to $100 in tickets and free play if you deposit $1,000 or more.

If you’re already a fan of the WSOP, this is pretty much a no-brainer. You can even qualify for the World Series of Poker through this membership, which is how dreams come true. With the new multi-state compact, you can also play in large-field tournaments including some offering the chance to win actual WSOP bracelets.

3. Borgata Poker PA

  • Welcome Bonus: 100% up to $1,000 + up to $85 in Tournament Tickets on Deposit
  • Bonus Code: POKPLAY
  • Accessible Via: Borgata Poker Desktop App, Borgata Poker iOS App, Borgata Poker Android App
  • Retail Partner: Rivers Casino Philadelphia

Borgata PokerAs noted, Borgata Poker PA shares an in-state player pool with BetMGM Poker, which means many players with a wide range of skill levels. It also means big tournaments, some with six-figure prize pool guarantees or more.

You might notice that at Borgata Poker the welcome offer is the same as at BetMGM Poker. There is a deposit match, plus you get tournament tickets based on how much you deposit when first funding your account. The terms and conditions of the offer are the same as well.

While Borgata and BetMGM are largely similar, it is worth pointing out that the Borgata boasts a better App Store rating than BetMGM Poker. So, if you’re planning on playing a lot of games on your iPhone or iPad, this might be probably the better choice. The desktop and Android apps offer the same level of quality, though.

Other Online Poker Sites in PA

  • PokerStars PA — Features a range of cash games at a variety of stakes, Sit & Go’s and Spin & Go’s, plus a full schedule of multi-table tournaments every day including the $100 Sunday Special with a $40,000 guaranteed prize pool and the $250 Sunday High Roller with a $20,000 guarantee. Look also for the PACOOP and PASCOOP series along with other marquee events.
  • BetRivers Poker PA — Pennsylvania’s newest online poker site, BetRivers Poker launched in October 2024 with cash games, tournaments, and SNG Select games that can be played in “Classic” mode (with fixed prizes) or “Cub3d” (with jackpot prizes.). Features that BetRivers has introduced in order to try to earn player traffic include dynamic avatars, built-in heads-up displays, and lower-than-usual rake and fees.
  • DraftKings Electric Poker — There is also another version of the three-handed jackpot sit-n-go PA players can enjoy at DraftKings Casino called DraftKings Electric Poker. Play against other players in a turbo-style no-limit hold’em tournament and have a chance to win as much as 10,000 times your buy-in.

Best Types of Online Poker to Play in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania online poker sites offer a lot of different ways to play America’s favorite card game, including some ways that are only available online.

Cash Games

Cash games, also called “ring games,” are popular at PA online poker sites and spread at a variety of states. Most of the games are no-limit hold’em, and you can play for as little as $0.01/$0.02 blinds or as high as $25/$50 (or even higher). You’ll find both “full ring” nine-handed cash games, six-handed games, and heads-up, too.

Multi-Table Tournaments

Multi-table tournaments are a top draw at online poker sites, some of which feature large fields and big prize pools. These MTT’s are scheduled every day with most sites having marquee events on Sundays (and other days) with guaranteed prize pools. There are frequent tournament series, too, like the BetMGM Poker Tournament Series and the online bracelet events at WSOP.com

Sit-n-Go’s

Sit-n-go’s are special tournaments that have no scheduled start times, but begin only after the required number of players have registered. Often these SNG’s are single-table tournaments, for nine, six, or three players, or even heads-up. There are multi-table SNG’s, too, however.

Jackpot Sit-n-Go’s

Jackpot sit-n-go’s are like regular SNG’s except the prize pool is determined not by the number of buy-ins, but by a random drawing before the tournament begins. The prizes are usually similar to regular SNG’s (or even less), but if the players are lucky they can be quite huge and pay out thousands of times the buy-in.

All PA online poker sites feature jackpot sit-n-go’s. They go by different names at different sites. At BetMGM & Borgata, they are called SPINS. At WSOP.com, you’ll find BLAST Poker. At PokerStars, they are called Spin & Go tourneys. And at BetRivers, the jackpot SNG’s are called SNG Select Cub3d. Meanwhile, DraftKings Electric Poker is also a version of the same idea of a fast-paced three-player SNG with a randomly-determined jackpot awarded to the winner.

Fast-Fold Poker

Fast-fold poker is a special online-only variant in which players rotate from table to table after every hand. Players can even fold hands early and immediately be moved to a new table and new hand without having to wait for the previous one to finish.

These games require a significant number of players to participate for them to be viable, and thus tend not to attract a lot of traffic at the PA sites that feature them, namely, BetMGM and Borgata (where the game is called FastForward Poker, and PokerStars where it is called Zoom Poker.

Online Poker Variants in PA

Within the different categories of online poker games, there are multiple variants, too, although most of the PA sites only offer a couple of them.

  • No-Limit Hold’em — NLHE is by far the most popular poker variant both in live poker rooms and online. The majority of cash games and tournaments on every online poker site are no-limit hold’em. There are fixed-limit hold’em tables at most sites, although they tend not to attract many players.
  • Pot-limit Omaha — PLO is also popular and offered at all of the sites listed above, both in cash games and tournaments. You will also frequently find pot-limit Omaha hi-lo or “PLO8” games, as well as no-limit Omaha games. Occasionally you might see fixed-limit PLO hi-lo as well, or even five-card PLO (offered at PokerStars PA).
  • Seven-Card Stud — Stud games (both hi only and hi-lo) are much less frequently found at online poker sites, and indeed of the PA sites only PokerStars features stud games at all.
  • Other mixed games — PokerStars PA is also your only option when it comes to other mixed games like five-card draw, deuce-to-seven triple draw, or razz. Of course, those cash game tables for those games are often empty.

Types of Online Poker Bonus Codes in PA

Deposit-Match Bonus Icon

Deposit Match Bonuses

Deposit match bonuses will get you the most bonus money out of all welcome bonuses in the long term. Essentially, these bonuses match your initial deposit by a certain percentage and up to a certain amount.

High Limit Slot Icon

Reload Bonuses

Reload bonuses are similar to deposit match bonuses in that they match a deposit by a certain percentage and up to a certain amount, but in this case, they do so for existing players. In fact, they may even be called deposit match bonuses at some online poker sites.

Gift no deposit present icon

No Deposit Bonuses

A no deposit bonus simply gives players bonus money for creating an account. You usually have to verify your account via text or email, as well as undergo identity verification. Once that’s complete, you’ll receive betting credits.

Hold and Win Slots Icon

Freeroll Tournaments

Freeroll tournaments allow players to compete for real-money prizes without buying a ticket. For example, BetMGM PA offers daily freeroll tournaments. PokerStars PA also hosts a variety of freeroll tournaments for members on the last Sunday of every month.

How to Sign Up for a PA Online Poker Account

  1. Find a site that appeals to you

First of all, you have to find an online poker site that appeals to you. Luckily for PA players, they have multiple options that include all the biggest names in the game. When finding a site, you should, of course, consider the welcome bonus, but you should also consider the overall quality and reliability of the site, how it can be accessed, the games that are available, and how they treat their existing players. All of these future considerations will be important to you as you continue to play.

  2. Get registered

Now that you’ve found a site you like, it’s time to get registered to play PA online poker. The registration process at any PA online poker site involves providing personal details to verify your identity, in addition to creating account details such as a username, password, and so on. Make sure that all of this information is accurate so that your account gets verified successfully. Make sure you click through our links and enter any bonus codes to ensure you receive the welcome offer.

  3. Scope it out

Before jumping in and putting money down, you should first take a look around the site and some of the games themselves. This will help familiarize you to the layout, controls, and features that the poker software offers. Then, when you head to the next step and make a deposit and play, you’ll already know what to do and you’ll be ready.

  4. Deposit and play!

Finally, it’s time for the fun part. When you make your first deposit, there are two things you should consider. Firstly, if the welcome offer is a deposit match, make sure you can meet any added requirements. Secondly, make sure you choose a deposit method that’s convenient for you and that you’d be happy to withdraw back to when you’re ready. From there, hop into a game, put your money down, and enjoy!

Online Poker Rewards Programs for PA Players

PA poker players have access to multiple loyalty rewards programs:

  • Poker Rewards (WSOP): WSOP offers its loyalty program, which gives players comp points for spending money on the site.
  • Caesars Rewards (WSOP): WSOP members can also connect their Caesars Rewards account to earn points by playing poker at WSOP as well as playing casino games and betting on sports at Caesars Sportsbook & Casino.
  • MGM Rewards (Borgata & BetMGM): You’ll earn MGM Rewards points for betting at Borgata Poker, Borgata Casino, BetMGM Poker, BetMGM Sportsbook, BetMGM Casino, and all MGM Resorts properties across the country.
  • Stars Rewards (PokerStars): Pennsylvania players can earn Stars Rewards points for playing cash games and buying into tournaments at PokerStars PA.
  • iRush Rewards (BetRivers): BetRivers Poker players also get to participate in the iRush Rewards loyalty program, much as those who play at BetRivers Casino in PA do as well.

Do Pennsylvania Online Poker Sites Offer Mobile Apps?

Yes, all Pennsylvania online poker sites offer both desktop and mobile apps. Here’s a breakdown of the options:

  • PA Poker Apps For Desktop: Unlike casino games and sports betting, you need to download an online poker platform to play it via desktop. You can do so directly on the online platform’s website.
  • PA Poker Apps For iOS: You’ll likely have the largest screen and most computing power on a desktop or laptop, but all PA poker apps offer an iOS app. The top-rated option is PokerStars Pennsylvania. You can download the apps directly from the App Store.
  • PA Poker Apps For Android: All PA poker sites also have Android apps. The easiest way to find it is to visit the poker site on your device’s web browser, then use the direct link to either go to the Google Play Store or download it directly from the site. It depends on whether the online poker service is listed on Google Play.

When downloading the online poker platform, be sure you are downloading the PA version. It might not always matter, but in some cases if you accidentally download (say) the NJ version, you won’t be able to use it from PA.

Playing Online Poker in PA vs. Players in Other States | The Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement

After a long wait, Pennsylvania has finally joined the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) that allows online poker players in different states to play against one another. After about six months’ worth of negotiations by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, PA officially became part of the multi-state compact on April 28, 2025.

The MSIGA enables states with legal real money online poker to share their player pools with each other. That in turn means more cash games, bigger tournament fields, and larger prize pools.

There are now six states that participate in this multi-state online poker agreement:

Of those states, WV has yet to launch a site, and DE used to have online poker but currently has no sites operating. (Connecticut and Rhode Island have also legalized real money online poker, but neither state has a site and neither is part of the MSIGA, either.)

Previously, Pennsylvania online poker sites were “ring-fenced,” meaning players could only compete against others also located in PA. With Pennsylvania joining the MSIGA, that is no longer the case.

Again, here are the five currently available PA online poker sites along with the states in which they operate:

  • BetMGM Poker — MI, NJ, PA
  • Borgata Poker — NJ, PA
  • WSOP.com — MI, NJ, NV, PA
  • PokerStars — MI, NJ, PA
  • BetRivers Poker — PA

BetMGM Poker began sharing player pools between its MI and NJ sites in Nov. 2024. Note that in New Jersey, BetMGM Poker already operates on an in-state network that includes Borgata Poker NJ and Party Poker NJ, so all of those players are part of the mix with BetMGM Poker MI as well. Things work similarly in PA, where the BetMGM and Borgata sites operate on the same network and have shared players within the state.

Looking at the other sites, WSOP.com has also been combining players from MI, NJ, and NV. Meanwhile, PokerStars has been sharing players from its MI and NJ sites. Meanwhile, BetRivers Poker only currently operates in PA. I have heard BetRivers Poker is exploring launching a site in Delaware, and since DE is part of the MSIGA , BetRivers could explore combining the player pools from those two states if and when they do.

Multi-State Online Poker: What is Happening for PA?

Here’s the latest:

  • BetMGM Poker PA and Borgata Poker PA sites joined multi-state player pools with the MI and NJ sites on April 28, 2025.
  • WSOP.com also added PA to its network of MI, NJ, and NV sites on April 28, 2025.
  • PokerStars PA should become part of the pool including MI and NJ players very soon.

Stay tuned for further updates regarding PA online poker sites joining the multi-state compacts.

Social and Sweepstakes Online Poker Sites

Social and sweepstakes casinos offer an alternate way to enjoy online games, including poker. The most popular sweepstakes-style online poker site in the US is Global Poker, a free-to-play site that lets you enjoy ring games, tournaments, sit-n-go’s (including jackpot-style SNG’s), and more.

Instead of cash, players use virtual currencies in the games (Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins), and if they win enough Sweeps Coins they can redeem winnings for gift cards or cash prizes. You can check out my full review of Global Poker here.

Shuffle Up and Deal! Join a PA online poker site today

Pennsylvania is fortunate to have online casinos, online sportsbooks, and online poker sites. Indeed, PA is one of only a few states that enjoys all three. And as far as online poker goes, PA has become an especially great spot thanks to the variety of sites available and the state having now joined the multi-state agreement to share player pools with other states.

Online poker is a great alternative for experienced players looking for easy-to-join games any time of day or night. It is great for new players, too, providing an easy, inexpensive way to learn the game and experience the fun and intellectual challenge it can provide. Check out our reviews of PA online poker sites and if you sign up be sure to use our exclusive bonus codes to take advantage of those welcome offers.

Pennsylvania Online Poker FAQs

You must be 21 years or older to play real money online poker in PA. You have to be at least 21 to play at Pennsylvania online casinos and sportsbooks as well. It’s worth nothing that you do not need to be a legal PA resident to play at any of the gambling sites as long as you’re within state lines.

No, you don’t have to be a resident of Pennsylvania to play at PA sites, but you do need to be physically located within PA state lines in order to play real money games. The sites use geolocation technology to ensure you are within the borders while you play.

Yes, as explained above, Pennsylvania does participate in the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement and starting in late April 2025 some PA online poker sites began combining players pools with those from other states.

Technically speaking, no. The DraftKings Casino offers many poker-based table games as well as video poker, and in fact also has a player-versus-player poker game called DraftKings Electric Poker. But there isn’t a DraftKings Online Poker site that works like a traditional site such as BetMGM Poker or others.

All legal online poker sites in Pennsylvania offer easy and common payment methods for deposits. These include:

  • E-wallets like Skrill and PayPal
  • Credit and debit cards like Visa and MasterCard
  • Pay-in-Person Locations like PayNearMe and Vanilla Direct
  • Direct bank transfer
  • ACH/e-Checks

Note that most sites offer many different ways to withdraw your funds, too. Check the site’s FAQ section for details about available deposit and withdrawal methods.
