BetRivers Delaware slots, table games, and sportsbook officially launched on Dec. 27. The online casino and sports betting operator made the announcement on X at 3:01 p.m.

On Dec. 28, the Delaware State Lottery site also said BetRivers online gambling was live.

The lottery virtually screamed it:

NEW HOME FOR INTERNET GAMES AVAILABLE THROUGH DELAWARE CASINOS!

Those casinos are:

  • Bally’s Dover Casino Resort
  • Casino at Delaware Park
  • Harrington Raceway and Casino

What the lottery means by “new” is 888 powered Delaware’s online casino gambling for the past 10 years until the lottery partnered with Rush Street Interactive (RSI) on Aug. 17.

BetRivers is an RSI (Rush Street Interactive 10,85 +3,93%) brand.

BetRivers Delaware will have a monopoly in the 1 million population state. That may be refreshing for a brand with a smaller market share in the other states where it operates. For instance, BetRivers Online Casino is live in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. BetMGM, DraftKings, and FanDuel are the dominant iGaming operators in all of those states.

No BetRivers Delaware Poker App

Delaware is known among online poker players as having one of the longest-standing multi-state relationships among players. However, the switch from 888 to BetRivers leaves Delaware without the game.

That’s because RSI’s apps don’t yet have the capability.

While the BetRivers site says online poker is on its way that seems to be little comfort to Delawarean players.

RSI’s site shows on Dec. 28:

Coming Soon: Poker

Currently in development, RSI’s proprietary poker platform will provide players with a fair and fun experience through a modern, streamlined user interface. Our thoughtfully crafted policies and features allow our players to feel safe, protected, and to just play. Moreover, our Dynamic Avatar feature will bring a human element to online poker.

Online poker players are hoping RSI will launch Run It Once Poker soon. RSI bought Phil Galfond’s product last year.

However, Bonus News Managing Editor Alex Weldon noted on Aug. 17 that BetRivers Delaware likely won’t be the first to offer RSI’s online poker.

Weldon wrote:

Although RSI hasn’t commented on the possibility, Delaware lacks the population to support a standalone poker site. RSI first needs to launch Run It Once in New Jersey or Michigan to have enough players to build a sustainable multistate network.

BetRivers Delaware Online Casino Games

Bonus took a look at the BetRivers Delaware games through the casinos’ links on Dec. 28.

All three retail casinos are linked to identical BetRivers sites, with the same online casino game categorizations:

  • This Week’s Top 10 Slots
  • Featured
  • Blackjack
  • Everlasting Epics (games like 88 Fortunes)
  • Hot Games: Top Payouts in the Past Hour (half were progressive jackpots)
  • More Table Games
  • Popular Asian-Inspired Slots
  • High Denom Slots (both were progressive)
  • Stepper Games (half were progressive)
  • Essentials (including games like Wheel of Fortune Triple Spin Extreme)

However, the top Hot Games did differ by casino.

Running down the top two Hot Games per BetRivers site, they were the following on Dec. 28:

  • Bally’s Dover Casino Resort: Midnight Matinee, 5 Treasures,
  • Casino at Delaware Park: Triple Double Patriot, Cleopatra
  • Harrington Raceway and Casino: Wheel of Fortune Triple Spin Extreme, 88 Fortunes

Notably, none of the BetRivers Delaware sites mention online casino live dealer products. In Pennsylvania, BetRivers even has a branded live dealer studio through Evolution (Evolution AB (publ) 3,26 -2,40%).

That Deleted BetRivers Post

Washington Crossing the DelawareBonus saw the 3:01 p.m. Dec. 27 post on X from BetRivers announcing the Delaware launch.

By noon on Dec. 28, BetRivers deleted the post.

That’s likely because the BetRivers Delaware announcement included an image referencing the Delaware River, not the state of Delaware.

While the X post’s words were accurate — that BetRivers Delaware was live — the image was of Washington Crossing the Delaware.

The iconic painting by Emanuel Leutze was shipped from Germany to the US in 1851. It depicts President George Washington and members of the Continental Army crossing the icy river on December 25-26, 1776.

The first US president led troops on a surprise attack on a Hessian garrison near Trenton, according to MountVernon.org.

Trenton, of course, is an hour away from Delaware.

However, the social media misstep didn’t seem to dull the enthusiasm about the launch:
