Fanatics Casino Debuts in Pennsylvania ‘Next Week,’ as PointsBet Becomes Fanatics

Fanatics Casino is coming to Pennsylvania.

Fanatics Casino will replace PointsBet, a Fanatics Experience. At 7 p.m. on Jan. 16, I received notice as a Pennsylvania account holder that the changeover from PointsBet to Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino would happen “next week.”

When the app changes over, Fanatics Casino will be accessible through Fanatics Sportsbook. Eventually, the online casino app will be available as a standalone iGaming option, Fanatics Betting and Gaming (FBG) told Bonus on Dec. 13.

As for Pennsylvania online gamblers who were notified about the app transition on Jan. 16, they mostly learned there’s nothing they have to do yet about the change.

However, PointsBet Casino gamblers should use up their “free spins” now because they won’t be transferred to the new Pennsylvania Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino.

The letter to account holders further reads:

Your account information, outstanding balance, any open bets, Rewards Points, and Bonus Bets will all automatically move to Fanatics Sportsbook.

Transition Is Moving Quickly

Fanatics Casino Blackjack Game Is Part of the App's West Virginia DebutOn Dec. 13, Fanatics officials told Bonus the app transition would happen in early 2024.

Now, the change is scheduled for the week of Jan. 22.

The only state to see the new app before Pennsylvania was West Virginia on Nov. 16.

In the Mountain State, a migrated PointsBet gambler placed the first bet.

It was $5 wagered on Fanatics Blackjack.

FBG told Bonus on Dec. 13 that bettors will notice many more such games that are built in-house and placed on the casino site.

FanCash is also unique to the app. Online casino players will earn 0.2% on slots and 0.05% on table games.

The Jan. 16 email from Fanatics about the transition adds:

Every $1 of FanCash equals $1 for Bonus Bets or $1 towards gear on Fanatics.com.

When Bonus checked the current app on Jan. 16, it still appeared as PointsBet, a Fanatics Experience.

App users have been expecting this transition for months.

Because in August, sports merchandise etailer Fanatics bought the US businesses of Australian online gambling operator PointsBet (PointsBet Holdings Limited 0,33 0,00%).
