The approval matters because Dutch gambling licenses cannot simply be renewed under current rules. Operators must submit a fresh application to keep serving the market when an existing license expires. In GGPoker’s case, its current license, issued to parent company NSUS Group, runs through Sept. 30, 2026.
GGPoker is one of four operators currently licensed to offer online poker in the Netherlands. The others named in the source report are Holland Casino, Bet365, and Unibet Poker.
Fresh application required under Dutch rules
According to Poker Industry PRO, the new KSA license gives GGPoker another five years of access to the Dutch regulated market. The outlet reported that Holland Casino and Bet365 have also secured new five-year licenses, while Unibet Poker’s current license does not expire until June 2027.
That makes GGPoker the sixth license holder across the broader Dutch online casino market to announce a new five-year license, according to the report.
Brendan Sleutel, compliance manager at GGPoker, said the operator was proud to extend its time in the country.
“We have been active in the Netherlands for five years now, and we get to add another five years to that. Naturally, we are proud of that,” Sleutel said.
What the decision means for the Dutch poker market
The new license means GGPoker will remain part of a small group of approved online poker brands in the Netherlands. Poker Industry PRO reported that three of the four licensed poker operators have now received approval to continue operating beyond their current license terms.
Sleutel also pointed to the company’s compliance record in the market, saying GGPoker wants to keep providing “a safe and, above all, trusted haven to Dutch poker enthusiasts” and adding: “Looking at the standings: five years active, zero fines. We are now going for 10!”
The next key date is Oct. 1, 2026, when GGPoker’s new Dutch license takes effect immediately after the current one expires.
