Jackpocket Casino Is Live in New Jersey, Bringing Online Casino Games to Lottery Players

New Jersey Jackpocket Casino officially launched on Jan. 31.

Jackpocket Casino officially launched as New Jersey’s latest online casino app on Jan. 31. The company best known in the US for its lottery ticket courier app, also named Jackpocket, tells Bonus that its online casino gamblers will be able to “move between the two apps with ease.”

Jackpocket‘s Jan. 29 announcement reads:

Every new casino user will receive both a casino and a lottery bonus offer after registering and making a first casino deposit. Through this connection, Jackpocket Casino will also amplify visibility and awareness of new lottery winners, games, prizes, and causes the lottery supports in New Jersey and across the country.

However, it’s unclear how that toggling will work. Because Bonus looked at Jackpocket Casino on Jan. 29 in New Jersey and saw what appeared to be a standalone casino app.

The site’s home page offers three drop-down menus:

  • Casino
  • Live Dealer
  • Offers

The newest New Jersey online casino does refer to its parent company’s lottery roots in offers like this one:

First deposit match: Up to $500, +$10 in lottery credits

Conversely, the lottery ticket courier app has a casino tab at the bottom of the screen. When Bonus tapped the casino tab, this image appeared:

Jackpocket didn’t immediately reply to those questions from Bonus on Jan. 29.

However, the company posted this on X:

UPDATE: 02/05/2024

On Jan. 17, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) authorized Jackpocket Casino to “commence full implementation of its online casino wagering operations.”

That DGE document also showed the state’s newest online casino was permitted to “terminate” its “soft play” operations. Soft launches allow the regulator to monitor the iGaming platform before authorizing a full launch.

On Feb. 5, the app remained at more than 1,000 downloads in Google Play. However, it moved up in the App Store from No. 139 to No. 137 in the “Casino” category.

Jackpocket iGaming Will Expand

Jackpocket Casino is starting in New Jersey, but the company plans to offer legal online casino games in other states.

That may not happen immediately, considering Jackpocket announced its New Jersey online casino plans back on Dec. 14, 2021.

Then Jackpocket Casino soft-launched last month on the Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City retail casino license. “Soft launches” of online casino sites must happen before operators receive regulator approval for full launches.

However, that expansion can’t match its lottery ticket courier footprint because not all of those jurisdictions offer legal iGaming.

The lottery ticket courier app is active in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Idaho, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Puerto Rico, Texas, and West Virginia.

The relevant state for Jackpocket Casino beyond New Jersey is West Virginia.

Legal online casino states that aren’t on the current lottery ticket courier app availability list are:

  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Michigan
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
