The Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) recently raided an unnamed business in Greenfield, Ohio, seizing 63 suspected illegal slot machines and an undisclosed amount of cash. The raid was conducted in conjunction with the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.
The unnamed business is located at 11939 State Route 753. Authorities acted in response to several public complaints about the illegal gaming machines.
The authorities haven’t yet announced any arrests or criminal charges. The investigation is still ongoing.
“We appreciate the Highland County Sheriff’s Office partnering with the OCCC to ensure an effective operation that shut down this illegal gambling site. Our enforcement efforts remain exceptionally thorough and strategically focused, as it has been consistently demonstrated that illegal gambling harms communities, undermines public safety, and negatively impacts the Ohioans who live in them,” said Ohio Casino Control Commission Interim Executive Director Andromeda Morrison.
“We will continue collaborating with our law enforcement partners to uphold the integrity of gaming in Ohio and protect residents from the risks associated with unlawful activity,” Morrison added. Morrison also noted that the OCCC has shut down thousands of similar unregulated gaming machines statewide, citing concerns about gambling’s effects on local communities and public safety.
