The online gambling industry’s message to the 5.6% of Pennsylvanians who speak Spanish at home is, “We see you.” On Aug. 15, Evolution debuted its Spanish-speaking live dealer services via online casinos in the Keystone State.

The launch follows five months of testing in New Jersey, where the Spanish-speaking croupiers began dealing cards on March 21.

The pioneering live dealers did so well in the Garden State that Evolution (Evolution AB (publ) 3,36 -1,75%) now offers VIP Spanish-speaking tables for New Jersey online casino gamblers.

While 16.7% of the 9.3 million New Jerseyans speaking Spanish at home outnumber the 5.6% of 13 million Pennsylvanians, the US Census Bureau figures still mean a sizeable number of Keystone Staters — 728,151 — prefer to speak Spanish at home.

So, starting with blackjack tables, Pennsylvanians saw Spanish-speaking croupiers on Aug. 15.

Claesson on Evolution’s Spanish-Speaking Dealers

Evolution’s North American CEO, Jacob Claesson, told Bonus:

The initial Spanish-speaking blackjack in New Jersey was so well received that we quickly made the decision to expand our offering to include a high-stakes Spanish-speaking table, ‘VIP Blackjack en Español,’ and to expand the Spanish-speaking tables to neighboring states.

… We are working on our first Spanish-speaking Infinite (scalable) Blackjack game in New Jersey as well, which we will launch later this year.

Claesson added about his international gaming company:

Evolution has been a pioneer of non-English tables, which started in 2012 when we launched our first roulette table with Italian-speaking game presenters. To date, we offer close to 30 different languages and dialects globally, so in a way this is nothing new to us. But we’re very happy to bring this experience to players in the US.

Connecticut Is Next at the Table

Connecticut will see a Spanish-speaking blackjack table “in the coming months,” Claesson said in the Aug. 15 Bonus interview.

About 12.8% of the state’s 3.6 million residents speak Spanish at home.

Evolution expanded its live dealer services for Nutmeggers in December 2023, due to online casino gambler demand.

West Virginia Isn’t Yet Included

Bonus asked Claesson if West Virginia would see Spanish-speaking dealers. (The Mountain State is served via a live stream from the Pennsylvania studio.)

Claesson said:

Since regular (7-seat) blackjack tables cannot be shared between Pennsylvania and West Virginia, this new table that launched today is only available for players in Pennsylvania.
