Spanish-language live dealer games included their first Spanish-language gaming tables on March 21 in New Jersey online casinos, Evolution‘s North American CEO Jacob Claesson told Bonus that day.
Claesson said it made sense to test the first gaming tables to house Spanish-only information in New Jersey.
He told Bonus about the Spanish-language blackjack tables that showed up in online casinos on March 21:
New Jersey was the natural place to start testing the interest and player engagement, as it is the state with the highest portion of Spanish-speaking population out of all states we are live in.
US Census Bureau data shows that 16.7% of New Jerseyans speak Spanish at home. That’s about 4% higher than the national average.
So, the March 21 news from Evolution translates to an immersive Spanish-language live dealer experience for New Jersey online casino players who pick that experience. Plus, if the test goes well, more states may see the option.
Evolution’s studios are in New Jersey, Connecticut, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania’s studio live streams to West Virginia online casino bettors.
New Jersey’s Spanish-Language Blackjack Tables
Evolution (Evolution AB (publ) 4,61 -2,12%) first received permission to offer spoken Spanish-language blackjack on Oct. 16 in two of its New Jersey live dealer studios. Then, on Jan. 5, the state’s gaming regulator — the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) — approved Evolution’s application to offer Spanish-language blackjack table layouts.
On March 13, DGE Interim Director Mary Jo Flaherty signed the order allowing Evolution to use its new Spanish-language blackjack tables, including a revision the company made on March 1.
On March 21, Claesson told Bonus:
The table launched today, it’s the first table presented in anything other than English in the US.
Claesson has told Bonus that, regardless of the language spoken by the human croupier, blackjack is the most popular live dealer game Evolution offers in the US.
So, if Spanish-language live dealer games do well in New Jersey, bettors may even see a dedicated studio. That means only Spanish will be spoken by croupiers using Spanish-language gaming tables.
Claesson said to Bonus:
If it is received well, we will consider doing it with more games and make a separate studio.
Spanish-Language Live Dealer Games Elsewhere
Evolution is a global company. So, it offers live dealer studios in other countries and did so before launching in the US. That means its croupiers speak many languages.
Claesson told Bonus on March 21:
Localized live dealer is something we’ve been doing for over 10 years in Europe, where we operate [using] many different languages.
Happy to be able to now bring it to the US and see how the players will react. We’re step-by-step elevating the product experience in the US with the ultimate goal of [introducing] as many players as possible to the world of live dealer games.
This product launch by Evolution is happening as games enter augmented reality and other realms to compete.
In addition to Evolution, US live dealer providers include Playtech Live, Light and Wonder (LNW), and Stakelogic. Evolution is the current market leader.
