My Experience with the Bonus
I decided to use my $25 first-bet-bonus token on the primetime NFL game that night and, while I could have again picked a longshot to potentially maximize my return, I decided to play it safe and picked the favorite at -125 odds, so I’d at least get something back.

App Speed
My biggest issue with BetMGM Sportsbook is that, compared to some other sportsbooks, it takes slightly longer for pages to load when opening the different sports markets and trying to place a bet. It’s only a matter of an additional 2-3 seconds, but it can often be frustrating, particularly when engaging in live, in-game betting.
Ease of Use & Navigation
The speed issues make the platform feel less intuitive than other online sportsbooks. But the BetMGM Sportsbook app and site are by no means difficult to navigate, with the different sports and leagues laid out in easy-to-find sections. The loading issues don’t affect the ease-of-use too terribly much; I think more experienced bettors used to faster sportsbooks might get impatient, but new or more casual bettors may barely notice.
Login, Geolocation
I had some issues when opening the app, where the app would stall out and I had to close and reopen it. When it did load properly, I found that turning on Face ID sped up the login, but the app still took an extra second or two more to load when logging in compared to some other sportsbooks.
I never had issues with geolocation checks, which confirm you are in a state where betting on BetMGM Sportsbook is legal. When loading the site on my computer’s web browser, it seemed to automatically take me to the site for the state in which I was betting.
Overall Interface & Design
I love the look of BetMGM Sportsbook, which uses a dark background with white text, making it easy to read. While the layout is easy to navigate, the opening homepage can be a little cluttered, with scroll bars with the different games and boxes promoting pre-built parlays inserted throughout. Thankfully, those promotions mostly disappear as the games start.
The sections for the different leagues and sports are much more clean and straightforward, showing boxes with just the different games and related straight-bet odds, which can be clicked on to see the full range of bets available.
Placing Bets – Pre-Game, Live & Parlays
Besides taking a second or two longer than I’m used to when placing bets due to the aforementioned speed issues, the betting experience at BetMGM Sportsbook is pretty smooth. There are betting markets for all major sporting events and numerous betting options, including straight bets, player, game and team props, and SGPs and multi-game parlays.
🔍 Finding Markets
I never had any issues with finding particular markets on BetMGM Sportsbook. You can click the collapsible “Sports” section at the top of the homepage to see all of the sports and leagues, or scroll through them all in the toolbar just beneath it.
The search function also works pretty well, but can be a little quirky and require additional clicks.
For example, when I searched “Charlotte” to look for Hornets NBA markets, instead of listing every team attached to the name, it provided links to the results in the football, basketball, and World Cup betting sections that required an additional click. The only direct link provided was for the “Charlotte 49ers,” the teams from University of North Carolina at Charlotte. But when clicking on the Charlotte 49ers link, it also showed me the market for an upcoming San Francisco 49ers game.
🧾 Bet Slip Experience
The bet slip at BetMGM Sportsbook can be opened at any time by clicking on the bar near the bottom of the screen, even when you have no bets in progress. It’s easy to add and delete wagers on the betting slip; just click the “X” next to the bet to get rid of it. When placing a bet, you’ll see your potential payout, including what it will be when using bonus bets.
I could also build parlays easily by just selecting multiple bets after my first bet had been added to the bet slip. After clicking on multiple bets, BetMGM gave me the option to place them individually or all together as a parlay. I could also choose to keep wagers on my bet slip, which would seem to be useful only if you are planning to make the same exact bet in near future, perhaps on something like a particular player to reach the same benchmark stats game to game.
💰 In-Play Betting
On BetMGM Sportsbook, I could make many bets on games even after they’d started. Click the “Live” section to see all of the games currently in progress. These live bets include most props and straight bets, including spreads and totals, which allows you to respond to odds adjustments as the game goes on.
When odds change, BetMGM highlights them with different colors to show whether they’ve gone up (highlighted in green) or down (highlighted in red). I did notice that when certain bets would lock while the odds were being adjusted, it sometimes took a few minutes before they reopened.
BetMGM Sportsbook also lets you bet on some shorter-period outcomes. I didn’t have any issues placing bets on next possession results f or football games or point/set winners during tennis matches.
But given the sometimes lengthy period of time some markets lock for odds shifts, I imagine it would make shorter-period outcomes, like the result of a next pitch in baseball, more difficult to wager on. BetMGM doesn’t have an extensive menu of these types of “microbets” and they were only available for some games. I didn’t see any basketball “next possession result” bets, for example.
Features That Stand Out
On BetMGM, You’ll find most of the same features you’ve seen at other sportsbooks, including a couple of standout ones.
Live Streaming & Visualizations
BetMGM reportedly offers in-app, live video streams of some games, including MLB matchups. Over the four days I tested the sportsbook, during which there were football, basketball, hockey, tennis, and soccer matches, none of the games were available to stream.
But you can follow along with games using BetMGM’s visualizers, which are accessible in each game market by clicking the field icon in the upper right corner. The game visualizers work well, updating with every play while also showing various related stats.
Cash-Out & Same Game Parlay
In the My Bets section, you can see your live, open, and settled bets. If early cash out is available on your bets, you’ll see a button to initiate that process in this section.
It’s easy to build parlays on BetMGM Sportsbook. Just add bets and, when you go to enter your wager amount, you’ll see them presented as both parlays and individual markets, along with the latest odds and your payout if you win. You can also hit the “Build Parlay” button on any game market to start building SGPs.
I like that BetMGM Sportsbook doesn’t over-promote their pre-built parlay suggestion, limiting them to pre-game. At some sports betting platforms, they are over-highlighted and can get pretty annoying.
Unique Features
BetMGM is one of the few online sportsbooks that allows you to change your bet after you’ve placed it with their Edit My Bet feature (which closes once a game starts). At many sportsbooks, if you’ve made a mistake or want to change your bet, the only way to do so is to cash out your wager and usually lose a little money. At BetMGM, I could also cash out the full amount of my wager within minutes after placing a bet.
You can also set up “Auto cash out,” which lets you pull out of a bet once the cashout value reaches a specified amount.
BetMGM also has a solid loyalty program, BetMGM Rewards, which I was automatically enrolled in when I signed up for an account. You earn points with every bet you make, which can be redeemed in the rewards store for bonus bets. Points can also be converted into MGM Rewards points and be used on dining, entertainment and more at MGM’s various brick-and-mortar properties around the country. Overall, I found the deposit/withdrawal process at BetMGM Sportsbook to be very fast, transparent, and efficient. When I deposited funds into my wallet using both ApplePay and my debit card, they hit my account and could be used instantly.
In its FAQ help section, BetMGM says it has a 3-5-day review period for all withdrawal requests, but I received my payouts much faster. After review, the sportsbook also says that the average payment processing period for withdrawals with Visa cards, PayPal, Venmo, and Play+ prepaid cards is less than 24 hours, while most other options can take up to 3-4 days.
When I put in my requests for withdrawals using ApplePay and a Visa debit card, the funds were shown as pending in my accounts within minutes. I had access to the funds the following morning. BetMGM sent emails and in-app notifications when my withdrawal requests were received, and also when they were approved.
Customer Service Experience

The 24/7 live chat feature works very well. I was initially greeted by a chatbot, which asked what my issue was and offered a few options to click for some stock responses. The primary knock against it is the slower speed and glitches that sometimes occur.
