These high ratings stem from the BetMGM experience as a whole, but there are a few standout features that truly bring it to the next level. As you’ll see in the next section, the pros of BetMGM Casino greatly outweigh the cons. In fact, it was hard for me to find more than one con to include in this review, but for the sake of transparency and fairness, I dug deeper to find any potential sticking points.

Where I Found BetMGM Casino Available

My extensive testing took place in New Jersey, where I currently reside. Other than New Jersey, BetMGM Casino is also available in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Across these states, players will find the experience to be the same outside of the game counts. For example, while BetMGM Casino New Jersey has nearly 6,000 games, BetMGM Casino West Virginia has just over 1,000 (still, a huge catalog that should prevent any and all players from ever getting bored). Promotions may also vary slightly from state to state, but only in timing. In other words, BetMGM Casino NJ may currently feature different promotions than BetMGM Casino PA, but they both have the same types of promotions and the same general level of bonus amounts.

Navigating BetMGM Casino: My Impressions of the Platform

Desktop Experience

Overall, the website maintains a simple, straightforward layout and navigation system, avoiding too many overly flashy colors and designs and instead opting for a simple black background and letting the game and promotional tiles speak for themselves. The top navigation bar primarily features the integration of other products including Sports and Poker, but also includes links to “Arcade” and Promotions. These sections are self-explanable, perhaps with the exception of the “Arcade” section, which we’ll cover in more depth shortly.

As you can also see in the above screenshot, the casino section features a submenu that offers a mix of overarching game categories (Live Dealer, Table Games, and Slots) and more niche categories (Four-Leaf Fortunes, Studio Spotlight, Hollywood Hits, etc.). My personal preference is for online casinos to focus strictly on the game types as primary categories to avoid clutter and confusion and then break them out into more niche categories further into the navigation. However, I didn’t find this particular configuration to be off-putting, as those categories were still easily accessible.

Beyond those rare occasions, however, I’ve always found a plethora of casino promotions that have been appealing, generous, and worth claiming.

In summary, I’ve found the desktop experience to be well thought out, straightforward, and intuitive. I have never encountered any technical issues or problems figuring out where to go to find a certain thing. The mobile app experience is similarly intuitive and enjoyable. The app holds high ratings – 4.5 stars on the Google Play Store and 4.7 stars on the Apple App Store, and it seems to be for good reason. Everything that can be found within the desktop experience can also be found in the mobile app experience, at least through my extensive testing. The game catalog feels complete, the promotions are there, and the auxiliary functions such as cashier, customer support, and so on are all easily accessible.

As you can see from the screenshot above, the mobile app has a similarly simple design, avoiding bright and overwhelming colors and design elements. I appreciate this simplicity—when I play at online casinos, I want the flashy and exciting aspects of my experience to come from the games and promotions themselves.

Exploring the Games: What I Found & What Stands Out

In short, I cannot imagine a single player who wouldn’t be able to find a vast number of slots to keep them satisfied here. Despite a clear focus on the slots catalog, the table and live dealer catalogs did not suffer from any forgotten effort. In fact, as you can see in the table above, both catalogs also feature more games than other comparable online casino catalogs.

Here, you’ll find plenty of variations of every popular table game you can think of, including the above-pictured BetMGM Blackjack Pro. There are also quite a few exclusive unique partnerships to be found here as well, such as NBA Blackjack and Roulette, New York Jets Roulette (in NJ), and more. In my mind, these partnerships make sense coming from an online casino that has so prominently integrated its sportsbook and marks an excellent option for players who enjoy both online casino play and sports.

As you can see in the screenshot above, there are also plenty of live dealer options for players who enjoy the fusion of land-based and online. For those unfamiliar, live dealer games offer the option to play online with simple controls while still enjoying a real-life dealer at a real-life table.

Especially worth noting here is a live dealer feature that can’t be found anywhere else: a game that combines live dealer online play with land-based casino play. In my opinion, the importance and precedence set by this integration cannot be understated.

Does BetMGM Casino Offer Games You Can’t Find Elsewhere?

BetMGM Casino indeed features many exclusives, most of which I’ve already discussed in the previous sections, such as MGM Grand Millions. However, as you could probably guess, there are plenty more where that come from with a game catalog of this size. In fact, there are over 130 other exclusive games available to players, which BetMGM categorizes as “games released early and nowhere else.”.

These include plenty of uniquely branded games, such as the above Rambo, but also feature plenty of games that are exclusively branded with MGM properties, such as Bellagio, Mirage, and more.

Specialty Games

BetMGM Casino features an entire section dedicated to nontraditional or specialty games. These games range from borderline traditional, such as LuckyTap and Slingo slots, to nowhere near traditional, such as Mines, Boxes, and more.

Take Mines, for example. When I loaded this game, I was first tasked with choosing my grid size, amount of mines, and bet. All of these settings affected my payouts and my likelihood of winning. Once I bet, my goal was to pick tiles to either unveil diamonds to increase my win or mines to blow up my chances. I was able to collect my win at any time, with each pick increasing my payout along with my likelihood of ruining it all with a mine. This game alone gave me a true feeling of excitement that rivaled other traditional casino games, and I found it to be a welcomed addition in my testing.

VIP & Loyalty Rewards: Is It Worth the Commitment?

BetMGM Casino is integrated with the coveted and wide-ranging MGM Rewards program, one of the most established loyalty programs in the world. Because of its distinguished status, I decided to take a deep dive into how it works, what it offers, and the experience I personally had with it.

How the Loyalty Program Works

As you can see above, the MGM Rewards program is based on tiers. These tiers range from Sapphire to NOIR, and all of them include extensive benefits, of which the above listed are only the beginning. Sapphire ranges from 0 to 19,999 Tier Credits, while NOIR is invite-only. The next level down from NOIR, known as Platinum, requires 200,000 Tier Credits.

Worth noting is that this is a partnership with Marriott, so for those who enjoy travel, this is an excellent and worthwhile rewards program. Starting at Pearl and ranging up to NOIR, you will be tier-matched for the Marriott Bonvoy program, from Silver Elite up to Ambassador Elite. That alone makes this a commitment-worthy program, but there’s plenty more to discuss.

Tier Credits may be earned in many ways, including MGM hotel stays, food and beverage expenses, and more. And, of course, players will earn by playing online at BetMGM Casino as well.

My Experience with the VIP Perks

I found my experience with MGM Rewards to be extremely enjoyable. Even if I wasn’t earning at a record pace (which I don’t feel, by the way), I still enjoyed the program’s vastness as a whole.

I also appreciated the benefits of being a member at even the lowest Sapphire tier. Without any play at the Borgata Atlantic City, I received a FREEPLAY balance there at my base tier level. Beyond that, I appreciated the variety within the rewards catalog. Aside from claiming FREEPLAY or SLOT DOLLARS, I could also use my Rewards Points towards entertainment, dining, spas, salons, and more. All in all, I felt that the value and vastness offered by MGM Rewards was second to none, only potentially matching up with the highly regarded Caesars Rewards.

How MGM Rewards Rewards Compares to Other Casinos

As mentioned above, I personally feel that MGM Rewards is above almost all other online casino rewards programs, on a different level only matched by Caesars Rewards. This is in part due to the generosity of the program itself but also due to the reach that only the Caesars and MGM brands hold.

BetMGM Casino has it all. The most impressive game catalog I’ve come across, paired with excellent promotions, easy and intuitive navigation, and strong customer support and cashier. As I said at the beginning of my review, I honestly had to dig to find anything that was even remotely a “con” in my pros and cons list. If anything, my main negative takeaway is that I’d like to see all promotions hold a 1x playthrough requirement, even if that makes them less generous in total amount.

Who Should Play Here?

I think BetMGM Casino should appeal to all players. This is not only because of the massive game catalog that features games for everyone but also because of the excellent desktop and mobile experience, as well as promotions and features that cater to all budgets.

Throughout my testing, I was impressed with how BetMGM Casino nailed it. They introduced and maintained a successful platform through and through, from the main experience of games and promotions to utility features such as deposits, withdrawals, and customer support.
