Resorts Casino was the first casino to open in Atlantic City in 1978. Resorts Online Casino wasn’t the first in the NJ online casino market, but since its initial launch in 2015, it has continued to grow and offer more games, promotions, and features. I recently dove in to conduct a full and thorough test of Resorts Online Casino and how it is now for review purposes, and you can find everything you need to know right here. With over a decade in the online casino industry, I know what to look for, so by reading this guide, you’re sure to make the most of your experience at Resorts.
The journey begins with the Resorts Casino promo code, which grants new players a three-part bonus in the form of 25 BONUS Spins on Opal Fruits, a 100% Deposit Match up to $200, and an additional 200 BONUS Spins on Opal Fruits. Beyond that, the online casino is quite simple in appearance and navigation – some may say it even appears outdated. However, Resorts Online Casino offers everything you need to have fun, including slots, table games, live dealer games, promotions, and a rewards program.

My Experience with Resorts Online Casino
All in all, I had an enjoyable experience with Resorts Online Casino. That being said, it wasn’t one that particularly stood out to me or felt “above and beyond” – it was simply enjoyable. In terms of games, it had everything I wanted, including a solid slate of exclusives that aren’t found elsewhere. Promotions are nice, but they do hold some tough terms and conditions. The layout and user experience were simple and straightforward (and could perhaps use a modern refresh, in my opinion).
Overall, it was nothing to write home about, but nothing to rule out from ever playing again. It struck a happy medium ground that left me feeling positive.
Overall Product Rating & Key Takeaways
I gave Resorts Online Casino a 3.6 out of 5, and our users gave it a 3.4 out of 5, so the sentiment seemed to match up and track across the board. My biggest positive was the game selection, and my most significant negative was the bonus terms and conditions. My middle ground pieces were the aforementioned layout, and the fact that a rewards program was offered, which isn’t the case at all online casinos.
Pros & Cons of Resorts Casino
With all the above said, the easiest way to summarize what I liked and what I didn’t like is through some quick pros and cons. Of course, I go into much more detail throughout this review, but I recommend the pros and cons as a launching point for your Resorts Online Casino knowledge.
Pros
- Huge game catalog, including a nice number of exclusives.
- Clean and simple layout.
- Market-leading rewards program.
- Convenient deposit and withdrawal methods.
Cons
- Website feels slightly outdated.
- Bonus terms and conditions can make them hard to convert.
- Withdrawal times are slower than many other NJ online casinos.
Where I Found Resorts Casino Available
Resorts Online Casino is currently only available in New Jersey, which is, luckily, where I reside and conduct my testing and reviews. As of the time of writing this review, there are no plans for Resorts Casino to expand beyond New Jersey. If expansion does happen down the line, I would wager a guess that it would begin in neighboring Pennsylvania, as Resorts does have name recognition there thanks to Atlantic City.
Exploring the Games: What I Found & What Stands Out
Resorts Casino | Caesars Palace Online Casino | DraftKings Casino | |
---|---|---|---|
Slots | 1,790+ | 1,720+ | 2,000+ |
Table Games | 85+ | 55+ | 110+ |
Live Dealer | 50+ | 45+ | 60+ |
Specialty Games (Originals, Bingo, etc.) | N/A | N/A | 10+ |
TOTAL: | 1,900+ | 1,820+ | 2,180+ |
Slot Games
As you can see from the table above, Resorts Casino has a massive slots catalog. In fact, the count alone rivals other big-time competitors, such as DraftKings and Caesars Palace. I found all of the most popular game providers included in this catalog (IGT, NetEnt, Light & Wonder, etc.), but I was most impressed by the number of exclusive games available.
In fact, many of the exclusives were even Resorts-branded, which I thought was really cool and assured that you wouldn’t find that exact game on another site. While I enjoyed my time testing those, I knew the exclusive I absolutely had to check out – the above-pictured Jersey Devil Slot. Being a born and raised Jersey boy, this is perhaps one of the most exciting exclusives I’ve come across in any of my testing and reviewing of any online casino. Developed by Light & Wonder, it had it all – respins, the Lock it Link feature, free spins, and more. It even had four fixed jackpots that grew with my wager amount. All in all, I couldn’t be happier with the slot selection.
Table & Live Dealer Games
I was also impressed by the table game selection. It went above and beyond the basics to include plenty of variations with additional fun features. It’s worth noting that generally (but not in all circumstances), table game variants serve to increase your maximum win potential at the expense of odds of winning in general, but if you’re hunting for big wins, the more variations the merrier.
In fact, there are over 25 blackjack options alone, including the above Blackjack Side Bets, which allows players to choose two of three side bet options that can increase the payout potential massively.
The live dealer game catalog is equally as robust, offering traditional table games, some variations, and other options, such as Crazy Time, Dream Catcher, and Side Bet City. There are plenty of tables available, and Resorts has enlisted Evolution Gaming to provide an excellent all-around live product for its players.
Does Resorts Casino Offer Games You Can’t Find Elsewhere?
Yes, it absolutely does. I briefly mentioned the Jersey Devil Slot and other exclusives above, but there’s plenty more to dive into. I found it really cool that so many of the exclusive games were actually Resorts-branded, such as the options pictured above.
I will say, however, that it can be tough to find exclusive games, as there is no dedicated exclusive section that I could find. Instead, you’ll likely have to scroll through the catalog and look for games that either have Resorts branding or an Exclusive sash on the game tile. That being said, I will mention that I was able to find a lot of the exclusive games in the “Featured” section of the game catalog.
VIP & Loyalty Rewards: Is It Worth the Commitment?
Resorts Online Casino offers a standard Resorts Rewards program and an additional VIP and loyalty program known as Echelon Rewards. In this section, I’ll discuss the details so that you can decide if it’s worth exploring further.
How the Loyalty Program Works
The base rewards program at Resorts is simply known as Resorts Rewards. Upon registration, you’ll automatically join the program and start earning. Through this program, players earn Rewards Points (RP) at the rate I’ve included below:
- Earn 1 RP for every $2 you wager on all Slots
- Earn 1 RP for every $4 you wager on Roulette
- Earn 1 RP for every $4 you wager on Three-Card Poker
- Earn 1 RP for every $8 you wager on Video Poker and all other Table Games
These Rewards Points can be converted to cash at specific rates based on your rewards level. For example, at Bronze, you need 2,000 RPs for $1 cash. At Diamond, you only need 219 RPs for $1 cash.
You’ll climb these Resorts Rewards Loyalty Levels as you earn RPs:
Resorts Rewards Loyalty Level | Monthly RPs Required |
---|---|
Bronze | 0 |
Silver | 500 |
Gold | 2,000 |
Platinum | 7,500 |
Diamond | 20,000 |
Echelon | 75,000 |
Echelon Plus | 200,000 |
Echelon Elite | 750,000 |
Echelon Black | Invitation Only |
This brings us into the next loyalty program offered at Resorts Online Casino, called Echelon Rewards, as you can see from the highest four loyalty levels in the table above. This is where you really start getting into VIP-level perks and benefits, and you are sent a brand new device to play online with. I’ve included the benefits table below for reference.
My Experience with the VIP Perks
I’ve never come close to the Echelon Rewards program, so I can’t comment on that specifically. However, I have earned some RPs through my testing, and I like the idea that the more I earn, the less it is for me to convert them to $1. This is a unique rewards format that I haven’t really come across at many other online casinos, and I appreciated its freshness. I also appreciated the simplicity of the program as a whole. I play, I earn RPs, and I convert them to cash – it’s as simple as that.
How the Resorts Casino Rewards Compare to Other Casinos
When I make rewards program comparisons between online casinos, I usually like to reference how much slots wagering it would take to earn $1, just to give a baseline reference point. In this case, that’s a little bit tougher as that number changes depending on your Loyalty Level. However, we can still use it to get an idea of how it stacks up.
At Bronze, you’d earn $1 cash for every $4,000 in slot wagers. At Silver, that drops to $2,500 in slot wagers, and at Gold, it falls to $1,000 in slot wagers. Once you reach Echelon Black, you’d only need $132 in slot wagers to earn $1 cash.
Comparatively, with Caesars Rewards, you’d earn $1 Free Play for every $1,000 in slot wagers. With DraftKings Dynasty Rewards, you’d earn $1 DK Dollars/Casino Credits for every $1,100 in slot wagers.
One important point to consider here is that Caesars Rewards and Dynasty Rewards pay out in bonus funds that require a 1x playthrough, while Resorts Rewards pays out in withdrawable cash. If we don’t take that into account, however, you’d basically need to reach the Gold loyalty level to equal the earning schedule of other popular rewards programs.
How I Handled Deposits & Withdrawals
Resorts Online Casino doesn’t have the largest selection of payment methods or the fastest processing times, but it does offer plenty of convenient and fairly quick methods for both deposits and withdrawals. I’ve included a detailed table below for reference.
Method | Deposit Timeline | Withdrawal Timeline |
---|---|---|
VIP Preferred (e-check) | Instant | 3-5 Business Days |
PayPal | Instant | Up to 3 Days |
Credit/Debit Card | Instant | N/A |
Resorts Cage | Instant | Available 24/7 |
Play+ Prepaid Card | Instant | Up to 3 Days |
Deposit Options
In my case, I used PayPal to deposit as I usually do. I find this method to be convenient for me, as I already have a PayPal wallet with my financial accounts linked up. I also find it to be amongst the fastest methods in most cases. The deposit process itself was seamless, and I received my funds instantly. Out of the available deposit methods, I’d also consider using VIP Preferred (ACH) and the Resorts Cage if I were in the Atlantic City area, especially as the cage only requires a $1 minimum withdrawal, while other methods sit around $15 – $20 minimums.
Withdrawal Process
I think that this is where Resorts Casino could use some work, and I know that other players feel similarly, based on how often slow withdrawals are mentioned in the app store reviews. I will say that my PayPal withdrawal came through relatively quickly, but not as quickly as other online casinos that I’ve tested. In the Resorts Casino knowledge center, it says, “Please allow up to 72 hours (3 days) for review and processing for all withdrawal methods, assuming that all accounts have been verified.” I found this timeline to be pretty accurate, if not a little exaggerated.
Payment Security & Regulations
Resorts Casino protects personal and financial information with TLS encryption, which is the stronger successor to SSL encryption. This is the same security standard that online banks utilize, so you can rest assured that it is tried and true.
In addition, Resorts is licensed, regulated, and monitored by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, which is the gold standard in terms of government online gambling regulatory divisions. The NJDGE ensures that overall security, including the security of payments, is held at the highest standard and strictly regulated.
My Experience with Customer Support
When it comes to customer support, I always like to see multiple options and long hours, and Resorts Casino nailed it. Aside from a detailed and extensive knowledge center, Resorts offers a 24/7 Player Support Team that can be contacted via a support request, live chat, or phone (1-844-990-4263). The support requests and live chat can be accessed from links at the bottom of the knowledge center page. It’s worth noting that you can also request a callback via phone.
As you can see in the screenshot, the live chat feature differs from many other online casinos in that it first acts as a kind of search through the knowledge center. If you don’t find an article that answers your question, you can hit the Contact Us button, and you’ll be asked to provide your name, email, a brief reason for contact, a phone number, and a message. Following that, there’s no chatbot, and it connects you directly to a live agent.
I personally liked this, as it made it easy for me to talk to a live agent when I wanted to, rather than dealing with finding a way to make a chatbot transfer me. In my case, I needed to verify my identity following a recent move, and my agent was courteous and helpful.
How Resorts Casino Stacks Up Against Competitors
My Key Takeaways
Overall, I think that Resorts Casino is a good option for players in NJ. I will also say that I think, as of right now, there are better options in the state. However, Resorts does have a simple and easily navigable website and app, an extensive game catalog, and fun promotions for new and existing players. There is a lot on offer here, but my biggest takeaway is that some of those things are bogged down by slightly disappointing caveats (good bonuses, but tough terms and conditions; convenient payment methods, but slower-than-average withdrawal times, etc.).
Who Should Play Here?
I think that Resorts Casino is a solid place to play for players of all levels. I also believe that high rollers would do well here, as the Echelon Rewards program offers a lot of excellent VIP perks and seems to be a well thought out and valuable loyalty system all in all. As of right now, I would recommend this to players who are looking for a second or third online casino to keep in their rotation, rather than a singular option.
My Closing Thoughts
Overall, Resorts Online Casino has a lot of pros, but a list of cons slightly brings down many of those pros. That being said, I think the minor nitpicks I have issues with are easily fixable if Resorts Casino is interested in doing so. I think that Resorts could be a top-of-the-pack option with some relatively small adjustments – namely, less playthrough on bonus funds, faster withdrawal processing times, and a site with a few more modern touches. All in all, however, I had an enjoyable time during my testing here.
