Quick Take:

MyPrize Markets aims to make prediction markets more accessible by combining them with social gaming and livestreaming. Instead of focusing only on experienced traders, it wants to reach a broader audience through a more interactive format. The partnership with prediction market platform Crypto.com points to a strong backend, but execution will determine its long-term relevance.

While not live yet, here is what we expect to see from MyPrize Markets.

MyPrize Markets Review

What Is This Platform Trying to Do?

According to the information released so far, MyPrize Markets will likely integrate the brand’s social-first front end with Crypto.com’s infrastructure.

MyPrize has announced that it’ll cover sports, politics, crypto, internet culture, and viral events while continuing the livestreams and community features already available on other brand products.

The general goal seems to be opening the doors of trading to users who might not have otherwise taken this step by merging predictions, gaming, and social interaction into a single experience.

Product & Feature Breakdown (Pre-Launch)

There is currently very limited information available about MyPrize Markets, so we based our analysis on MyPrize’s existing features and Crypto.com’s prediction market infrastructure. We’ll update our review once the platform launches.

Market Creation icon

Market Creation

No details confirm who will create markets, but we expect exchange-controlled listings with strict rules, which would ensure quality and reduce manipulation risk. Still, the announced focus on social engagement could indicate different possibilities.

NBA player James Harden has been frequently linked to MyPrize Markets, and it wouldn’t be impossible to consider creator-led markets. These could increase engagement, but would require strong moderation to prevent biased outcomes and low-quality contracts affecting overall market credibility.

Trading Experience icon

Trading Experience

There are no interface details available at the time of writing, but the front end will likely follow a fun gamified design, akin to other MyPrize platforms.

Trading itself will likely rely on an order-book model with market makers providing liquidity.

Resolution System icon

Resolution System

We expect outcomes to be resolved centrally using predefined criteria established in the CDNA Rules. This means contracts would be collateralized and settled through regulated processes.

Incentives & Rewards icon

Incentives & Rewards

The available information about incentives links to social features such as Play Together, creator rooms, and leaderboards, which are key features on other MyPrize platforms. While it could drive user participation, it also raises questions about market integrity.

Accessibility icon

Accessibility

Access will likely face pressure in states already pushing back against prediction markets, including Arizona, Illinois, Ohio, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. The announced availability across MyPrize.us and MyPrize.com adds another layer of regulatory uncertainty, especially between domestic and offshore access models. How each will handle restrictions remains unclear.

Tokenomics & Economics icon

Tokenomics & Economics

There has been no announcement about a native token for this product at the time of writing. However, MyPrize’s CEO previously mentioned plans for a broader “GambleFi” ecosystem back in March 2024. Prediction markets could justify a token through trading, rewards, or liquidity, but if introduced, though this would likely necessitate more regulation.

Team & Backers

Zach Bruch, Founder and CEO, has been in the crypto trading and traditional markets sectors for several years, with roles at Kraken, DWR, and JST Capital.
James Seibel, MyPrize’s co-founder and CTO, has worked with Bruch at RECUR and brings extensive engineering expertise from industry-leading cryptocurrency and blockchain technology companies.

Funding-wise, the company has raised $38M from investors, including Dragonfly Capital and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z Scout). The partnership with Crypto.com also strengthens the credibility of the infrastructure.

Knowledge and funding appear to be in place, but the real test will come once the product goes live.

Regulatory Considerations

MyPrize Markets’ announced setup combines three frameworks:

  • U.S. sweepstakes casino rules
  • Offshore gambling under a Curaçao license
  • Derivatives regulation through the Commodity Futures Trading Commission

While the platform has yet to expand on how it’ll operate, we expect some challenges ahead. State regulators have been challenging prediction markets despite federal backing and sweepstakes platforms face separate regulations across different states.

The offshore angle adds another layer of uncertainty, since Crypto.com currently limits prediction market trading to the U.S.

Competitive Positioning

The market is currently fragmented among regulated exchanges and betting-adjacent products, but MyPrize Markets wants to add yet another positioning, and it might be its main selling point.

The existing social ecosystem, with creators, chat, and rewards, can attract users who would not typically trade, aligning with one of Zach Bruch’s goals of democratizing online gambling and crypto.

Strengths (What Looks Promising)

MyPrize Markets’ main advantage lies in distribution and product layering rather than pure market mechanics.

With an existing base of over one million users, the platform will likely get immediate access to liquidity and an adoption rate that most new prediction platforms could only dream of.

Integrating with Crypto.com grants entrance to regulated infrastructure and, on the front end, proven engagement systems can drive repeat participation.

Combined with flexible fiat and crypto payments, the platform has all the tools it needs to bridge casual users and more advanced market participants.
If handled carefully, we expect real growth potential.

Risks & Unknowns

The biggest uncertainty is how regulation and integration will actually work.

Available information suggests that prediction markets will sit within existing MyPrize platforms: one operating as a new sweepstakes casino site and another under a Curaçao gambling license, but neither framework clearly aligns with how regulated prediction markets are supposed to operate.

Crypto.com shows that integration is possible, as seen with Fanatics and Underdog. However, those cases rely on a stronger regulatory footing. Underdog holds multiple state gaming licenses, while Fanatics Markets acquired a CFTC-registered introducing broker and operates within that system. MyPrize Markets still has time to establish a regulated structure, but looking from afar raises questions about compliance, market access, and long-term stability.

Another aspect to consider is how the heavy creator influence and gamified mechanics can blur the line between entertainment and financial risk, especially for users accustomed to free-to-play models. Brand communication and product transparency will be essential, or it may cause issues around responsible gaming and user protection once real money is involved.

What Needs to Be Proven at Launch

The product will likely follow Crypto.com’s infrastructure and rules, which raises its first test: can a regulated trading system work inside a social, creator-driven environment without creating compliance or safety issues?

The platform needs to demonstrate it can comply with state, federal, and international gambling laws without disrupting access or operations, especially when integrated into existing products.

We’re also curious to see how MyPrize protects users from risk as it moves towards a real-money trading system.

Early Signals to Watch

After launch, the first test will be whether the markets function properly. Activity, liquidity, and pricing will be the telltale signs of a working product, but only if we pay attention to the social engagement impact.

Another aspect to watch is user retention, which will matter more than signups. The platform already brings over 1 million users, so the real question is whether they adopt this product and keep using it.

Final Verdict

MyPrize Markets wants to layer prediction trading onto a social gaming ecosystem, which is a clear break from how current platforms operate. If it works, it could truly expand trading to an audience that might have otherwise been unaware of this type of product.

We’ll keep waiting to see how the platform is structured and how it approaches regulation and compliance issues. Hopefully, we’ll witness one of the major innovation moments in trading and gaming.
