Slots Phillies Karen is (Probably) Playing Right Now

Karen Slots

If you’re here, I’m sure you’re aware of the “Phillies Karen” incident that unfolded at loanDepot Park on Saturday September 6. While many in the media are interested in answering questions such as “who was in the right” or “what is Karen’s identity!?”, we here at Bonus are interested in answering a far more important question related to the event — what slots does Karen (probably) enjoy and where is she playing them?

Karen Maneater

Our first choice here is a no brainer. It’s literally a feral Karen on the reels and we’re not talking “Maneater” in the Nelly Furtado sense. Is she a Phillies fan? I’m not sure. I definitely get more of a Diamondbacks vibe from her but people do surprise you. Either way, doesn’t this feel like something Phillies Karen would play?

To be fair, Karen the Maneater does feel a little more hard core than Phillies Karen. She simultaneously looks like a member of the Hells Angels and your local HOA. Truly a lethal combination.

  • Features:
    • xWays & Infectious xWays: These symbols transform into a randomly chosen symbol, increasing the number of symbols on a reel and expanding the number of ways to win.
    • Infectious Wild: A wild symbol on the final reel that nudges down, increasing its multiplier with each nudge.
    • Bonus Meal: The free spins feature, triggered by landing scatter symbols. It can include sticky xWays symbols.
    • XBet: An optional feature that increases the bet to guarantee a scatter symbol on the second reel, raising the chance of triggering the bonus round.
  • Baseball Fever

If nothing else, Karen’s exchange in the stands demonstrated her passion for the sport of baseball. Remember that old Nike ad about loving the long ball? Maybe there is some truth to that still. Maybe the 90s aren’t dead after all.

For slot players looking to channel some baseball nostalgia, there’s no better game than Baseball Fever.

  • Key Features:
    • Wild Symbols: Represented by the “Baseball Fever” logo, appearing on the middle three reels to substitute for other symbols.
    • Wild Multipliers: Wins involving wild symbols can be multiplied, with potential for multipliers up to 125x.
    • Scatters: Represented by a baseball, used to trigger free spins.
    • Free Spins: Awarded by landing scatter symbols, with the potential for retriggering.
    • Flaming Baseball Symbol: A special symbol that can appear during free games, offering instant bonuses.
    • Sticky Wilds: Mentioned in some descriptions as potentially appearing and remaining in place during free spins.
  • Pay Pig

While this one may not be as obvious a choice from an aesthetics perspective, it’s a perfect fit from an attitude perspective. Just like Karen believed she was entitled to that home run ball, the Pig in Pay Pig believes she/he(?) is entitled to a win with every spin and neither is scared to let you know about it.

  • Features:
    • Locked Reels: During the base game, sets of 2, 3, or 4 reels are locked, filled with symbols.
    • Bonus Respins: Triggered by landing a certain number of pig symbols, leading to a respin bonus round.
    • Big Pigs: Pig symbols can gather to form larger 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4 symbols for multiplied wins.
    • Bonus Buy: An option to purchase the bonus respins feature directly.
  • Deadly 5

Karen’s encounter with a father and son at the Phillies game could be characterized as a showdown between competing interests. Much like Karen and the father sparred over rights to the baseball, the Deadly 5 square off over the rights to the Wild West. Say what you want about Phillies Karen, but she certainly seems to be down for a dual. Did someone say this baseball diamond a’int big enough for the two of us?

  • Features:
    • Wild Symbol: The Sheriff’s Badge acts as a Wild, substituting for all other symbols except the scatter to help form winning combinations.
    • Safe Scatter Symbol: Landing 3 or more Safe symbols triggers the main bonus feature and an instant cash prize. The number of scatters determines the number of free spins and the multiplier (e.g., 3 scatters = 10 free spins and 3x win; 5 scatters = 20 free spins and 50x win).
    • Sheriff’s Bonus Free Spins: This is the main bonus round.
      • A Full-Reel Sticky Wild in the form of a Sheriff appears on the 5th reel and remains there for the duration of the feature.
      • Above the other four reels, Wanted Posters for the four outlaw symbols appear.
      • If a specific outlaw symbol lands on the reel that corresponds to their Wanted Poster, that symbol will expand to cover the entire reel and turn Wild for that spin.
  • Art of the Steal

Did Karen steal that home tun ball from the father and son? No. Did she apply the correct pressure points to end up with it anyway? Yes. In this sense, you have to give her some credit. Her method was, dare I say, somewhat artistic? Maybe not, but either way, I can see Karen enjoying a game where the primary character gets one over on the house.

  • Features:
    • Loot Line: A special line of suitcases below the reels. A Loot badge symbol moves to this line, applying a 22x multiplier to winning combinations.
    • High-Paying Wild: The “Dogs Playing Poker” painting acts as a wild symbol and is the highest-paying symbol.
    • Pick Bonus: Triggered by alarm bell scatters, this feature allows players to choose a prize from a safe, awarding a prize multiplier.
  • Diamond Vortex

Probably the most ominous slot of the bunch, Phillies Karen’s attraction to Diamond Vortex rests in vibes. Every time I play this game, I’m filled with a sense of scared seriousness. Though I was not in the park on Saturday night, watching the clips of Karen gave me the same feeling. I don’t know how to fully describe it, but there is a shared energy between that version of Karen and this game.

  • Features:
    • Rotating Reels: On every win, the rings of the grid rotate in alternating directions (clockwise and counter-clockwise).
    • Core Wild: A permanent wild symbol located at the very center of the grid.
    • Consume Feature: When a sticky wild is part of a winning cluster, it moves closer to the Core Wild. When consumed, it increases a multiplier.
    • Transform Feature: Triggered when a “Spot” symbol reaches a “Zone” on its ring, transforming all regular symbols on that ring into a single, random symbol to create a new winning cluster.
    • Free Spins: Triggered by bonus symbols, the free spins feature allows the Core Wild multiplier and Spot progression to persist across spins.
