- Fanatics debuted a marketing campaign featuring Dennis Haysbert to launch FAIR PLAY MAX ahead of football season.
- The updated product introduces Forward Progress Protection, protecting rushing prop bets from negative-yardage plays once overs hit.
Fanatics Sports & Casino has launched a new marketing campaign for FAIR PLAY MAX ahead of football season, with Dennis Haysbert returning as the ambassador and voice of the product and a new Forward Progress Protection feature debuting for the 2026 season.
The announcement matters because Fanatics is tying a high-profile ad push to a betting-protection feature aimed at football prop bettors. The company said its broader Fair Play protections have already saved more than half a million bets since September 2024, including nearly 200,000 pro football bets last season.

New protection targets negative rushing-yard plays
According to Fanatics, Forward Progress Protection applies when a quarterback or running back hits the over on a rushing prop. In those cases, the bet is protected from negative-yardage plays.
The company said the new campaign will begin running across digital and social channels this week.
Fanatics Betting and Gaming created Fair Play in 2024, describing it as the first player injury protection program. Fanatics also said it was the first operator to offer both First Half Injury Protection and Second Half Injury Protection at no charge as part of FAIR PLAY MAX.
Fanatics highlights results and Haysbert’s return
In a statement, Selena Kalvaria, chief marketing officer of the Fanatics App, said the product reflects the company’s effort to respond to customer frustrations around bad beats tied to on-field events.
> “At Fanatics, we’re building a better way to experience sports and FAIR PLAY™ MAX is the latest example of how we listen to our community and innovate to ensure that bad luck on the field doesn’t have to turn into a bad beat,” Kalvaria said.
Kalvaria also said Haysbert’s return is meant to reinforce the campaign’s tone and credibility.
> “Dennis is known as one of the most trusted, well-liked spokespeople in TV history, and we’re playfully engaging with that credibility with smart, entertaining creative,” she said.
Fanatics did not specify in the announcement which states its sportsbook is available in, saying only that Fanatics Sportsbook operates in limited states. The company also did not outline additional eligibility terms for FAIR PLAY MAX or Forward Progress Protection in the source announcement.
The latest rollout positions FAIR PLAY MAX as part of Fanatics’ football-season product pitch, with the new protection feature and campaign launching together this week.
