Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain plans to open Haunted Hall, a permanent Halloween-themed gaming area, with a grand opening weekend scheduled for Oct. 16-18 and an official ribbon-cutting on Oct. 17 at 5 p.m.

The launch matters because the property is positioning the new space as more than a seasonal attraction. According to the casino, Haunted Hall is designed to stay on the floor beyond Halloween as part of a broader push to create repeat visitation through themed, experience-led gaming.

Haunted Hall blends slots with permanent themed effects

Hard Rock Sacramento said the new area will combine slot machines with themed lighting, sound, visual effects, and other atmospheric elements. The casino plans a guest preview and soft opening in early October, though it did not specify an exact date in the announcement.

The gaming lineup includes titles from Aristocrat, Aruze, AGS, Light & Wonder, and Zitro. This unique physical activation highlights how regional destination properties continue to innovate floor layouts to drive foot traffic, complementing the broader multi-channel entertainment strategies that operators also deploy across digital platforms and regulated online casino ecosystems.

In a statement, Mark Birtha, president of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain, said Haunted Hall is intended to offer something distinct in the regional market.

“Haunted Hall represents another way we’re creating experiences at Hard Rock Sacramento that guests can’t find anywhere else in the region,” Birtha said.

Birtha also said the concept was built to extend beyond the Halloween calendar.

“We wanted to take the excitement of gaming and build an entire haunted atmosphere around it – something fun, unexpected, and highly memorable that guests will want to experience and share, beyond the Halloween season.”

Opening weekend includes influencer appearance and October event slate

The casino said the Oct. 16-18 grand opening weekend will include appearances by gaming influencer The Big Jackpot, guest experiences, livestream coverage, promotional giveaways and other events. The official ribbon-cutting is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17 at 5 p.m.

Hard Rock Sacramento also listed several additional Halloween-themed events across October:

  • Oct. 10: Boots on the Ground: Spirits & Spurs Line Dancing
  • Oct. 11: Paint & Sip Fall Series
  • Oct. 16: Murder Mystery Dinner: Midnight at the Masquerade
  • Oct. 30: Shadows & Spirits Halloween Crawl

The announcement did not disclose how many machines will be included in Haunted Hall or the installation cost. But the property said the concept is meant to remain a permanent part of the casino floor rather than a temporary holiday setup.
