Lions of the East Poker Tournament at BetMGM and Borgata
The Lions of the East cross-property poker tournament, formerly known as Lions of the Atlantic, returns from October 7 to October 18 with a $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, with the buy-in set at $600.
The tournament is split between two locations: MGM National Harbor in Maryland and the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. Each location will host eight starting flights, with Borgata hosting the showdown when players who survive the initial flights converge to play down to a champion.
The initial Day 1 flights run from October 7 to October 12 and are split between the two properties. Day 2 flights run from October 13 to October 18 and will be held at Borgata, where participants will play down to the final table to determine a champion. Overall, this is a three-day event with 16 starting days.
All players must start with 35,000 in tournament chips. Registration opens at 9 a.m. and ends at the start of Level 13 of each flight. Notably, the tournament is based on a “best bag forward” format. Under the format, participants are allowed to play multiple Day 1 flights. If players survive and bad chips in more than one flight, they get the largest chip stack carried forward to Day 2, while the smaller stacks are removed from play.
Sunday Lion’s Stack
In addition to the Lions of the East poker tournament, there will also be an official side event poker tournament dubbed Sunday Lion’s Stack. This tournament will run for one day with a guaranteed prize pool of $50,000 and a buy-in set at $400.
The tournament is scheduled for October 18, starting at 1:15 p.m. It will be held at the Borgata Poker Room in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
