Bonus TL;DR
- New Jersey’s online casinos generated $259.3 million in gross gaming revenue during August, marking a 4.4% increase year-over-year and the eleventh consecutive month above the $250 million threshold.
- Growth was largely driven by smaller and mid-tier brands—such as BetFanatics, Bet365, and Resorts Casino—while top market leaders FanDuel and DraftKings experienced slight year-over-year declines.
New Jersey online casino revenue, the industry’s term for gross gaming revenue or GGR, reached $259.3 million in August, up 4.4% from a year ago, according to the state Division of Gaming Enforcement.
The market’s two biggest names did not drive that growth. FanDuel, the leader, won $56.7 million in August, down slightly from a year ago. DraftKings won $43.5 million, off 7.5%. Together they still account for roughly 4 in 10 dollars won by New Jersey’s online casinos last month.
Just not more of them than a year ago.
Where the growth actually came from
Growth showed up furthest from the top of the market.
Resorts Casino’s own branded app won $2.6 million, up 47.6%. Bet365 won $3.4 million, up 46.6%. BetFanatics, Bally’s online skin, grew 30.7% to $13.1 million. Golden Nugget’s branded app grew 28.8%, and BetRivers, running on the same license, grew 28.1%.
BetMGM, Borgata’s national brand and the state’s third biggest online casino, split the difference. It grew 7.8% to $35.1 million, enough to gain ground on DraftKings without threatening FanDuel.

The one name that disappeared
PokerStars, one of the state’s original online poker rooms, shows zero win in the August report.
Not a data error. The brand shut down its standalone United States operation this spring and folded its player pool into FanDuel, which now carries what used to be PokerStars business in New Jersey under its own numbers.
Whether the smaller brands keep growing once FanDuel and DraftKings find their footing again is the number worth watching into the fall.
