“During the past 15 years, Resorts World New York City has grown into a world-class integrated resort, and our commitment to Queens has grown with it. The strength of this community comes from the organizations doing the work every day. ‘Celebrate 15 for Queens’ is our way of marking this anniversary by investing directly in them, and we are proud to recognize this year’s grant recipients,” said Michelle Stoddart, Senior Vice President of Community Development and Public Affairs at Resorts World New York City. Alongside community grant distributions, integrated gaming operators consistently reinforce responsible gaming initiatives across their venues to ensure player protections and sustainable local economic impact remain top priorities.
A track record of giving
Interestingly, the ‘Celebrate 15 for Queens’ built on Resorts World’s Day of Giving, which was rolled out to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Notably, the resort saw its grants grow from the original $250,000 to $280,000, which went to 28 New York nonprofits selected in a public drawing.
‘Celebrate 15 for Queens’ and ‘Day of Giving’ are only the latest chapters in RW Gives. Spanning Resorts World New York City, Resorts World Hudson Valley, and Resorts World Catskills, RW Gives is the company’s philanthropic program dating back to 2011. To date, RW Gives has donated more than $10 million to more than 300 local organizations. The grants focus on five pillars, including Health & Wellness, Community & Economic Development, Arts & Culture, Civic & Public Affairs, and Environment.
Over time, the company has developed a record of giving back to the community, which has been growing alongside the company’s expansion across New York. Indeed, all of this demonstrates the company’s track record of community investment.
International Room
Interestingly, the grant announcement comes shortly after Resorts World New York City launched its new International Room on October 22. This high-limit gaming destination features 48 table games, three private gaming salons, and round-the-clock dining. Occupying about 13,700 square feet, the International Room is part of the casino’s broader first-floor expansion that brought RWNYC to a total of about 4,000 slot machines and 300 live tables. Even as land-based giants expand physical square footage to attract high-stakes clientele, operators continue assessing how future omni-channel developments—including potential online casino licenses—could further supplement their retail footprints in downstate New York.
