When WOW Vegas rolled out WOW Picks earlier this month, the coverage centered on one thing: a free-to-enter NFL contest with a 250,000 SC prize pool. Early write-ups characterized the section as a dedicated home for one-off sports prediction competitions rather than a full sportsbook feature.
That description no longer fits.
A look at the WOW Picks lobby this week shows a sports product that behaves like a conventional sportsbook. The board carries NFL, NCAA football, NBA, MLB and NHL, plus soccer across MLS, the Premier League, LaLiga and all three UEFA club competitions. Sport filters extend to tennis, golf, MMA, boxing and volleyball. Markets include moneylines, spreads, totals, same-game parlays, live lines that move during play, and player props granular enough to cover first-inning results and individual hit totals. A Virtuals tab fills the gaps when nothing real is running.
The most aggressive piece is the Boosted Pick Multiplier row, a set of pre-built parlays with the price marked up rather than shaved down. One MLB card on Monday moved from +900 to +1100, turning a GC 10.00 pick into a GC 120.00 return. Boosted parlays are a familiar acquisition tool at regulated books, and their appearance at a sweepstakes operator is a signal of where this category is heading.

The Contest That Started It
Last Fan Standing remains the front door. The format works like an NFL survivor pool: players pick one team to win each week and cannot reuse a team, but each entrant gets three lives, so two wrong picks won’t end the run. Picks lock every Saturday at 7 p.m. ET, and late entrants have until Saturday, Sept. 26 to join.
The prize structure is what makes it worth a look even for casual football fans. The 250,000 SC pool is split equally among everyone still alive at the end of the regular season — five survivors would take 50,000 SC each, ten would take 25,000 SC apiece — and the SC can be redeemed for cash prizes or played elsewhere on the site. There’s no purchase or SC play requirement, and each member gets one free entry.
Why It Matters
WOW Vegas built its reputation on slot volume, with a library north of 1,800 titles and no table games to speak of until recently. A sports section changes the pitch. Sweepstakes operators are adding features aggressively to differentiate themselves, and Crown Coins took a similar swing with Crown Sports around the 2026 World Cup.
It also arrives at a delicate moment. Sweepstakes operators are facing active legal pressure in several states, and a product that looks this much like a sportsbook invites scrutiny that a pick’em contest does not.
WOW Picks is available to WOW Vegas members, which excludes players in CA, CT, ID, IN, LA, ME, MI, MT, NJ, NV, NY, TN and WA. We’ve reached out to WOW Vegas for comment on whether SC wagering on the odds board carries the site’s standard 1x playthrough.
