Not only this, additionally you can win the community jackpots as well.”
This is a prime example of the promotional offering you’ll find at Skills & Slots. We can’t even begin to guess what this “offer” means or how players can redeem it.
That confusing messaging is par for the course at Skills & Slots. It’s one of many reasons we recommend you spend your time at a more reputable social or sweepstakes casino.
How Does Skills & Slots Work?
Skills & Slots claims to operate using the sweepstakes casino model, but it’s a tad more complicated than that. It’s unique in its structure.
Players sign up for Skills & Slots with a single account. Deposits are allowed (a big signal that the site is different than a traditional sweepstakes casino), and players can funnel their money into various gaming platforms. These “softwares,” as the site calls them, are the actual casino sites with games you can play.
When you move credits into a particular gaming software, you can play with them and later transfer them to another site or redeem them.
Contrasted against our trusted and recommended sweepstakes and social online casinos, Skills & Slots operates with some hard-to-follow practices. Its operating model is a large part of why we can’t recommend it.
How To Get In-Game Currency at Skills & Slots
Skills & Slots isn’t your typical online social or sweepstakes casino, which typically offers two currencies: a base currency (usually called Gold Coins or something similar) and a premium currency (Sweeps Coins or similar).
At Skills & Slots, there’s no such distinction. Instead, players can deposit money and move it into their preferred gaming software for credits. In essence, the only way to get in-game currency at Skills & Slots is to deposit.
The way Skills & Slots handles deposits is a big red flag for us, and one of the top reasons we don’t recommend the site. Legitimate social and sweepstakes casinos only offer purchases, and premium currency is always free. The only reason this category isn’t a 1 is that Skills & Slots’ software works at a baseline level. Otherwise, it’s clunky, difficult to understand, and hard to use.
Web Browser Version
The web browser version of Skills & Slots is bound to be confusing for any player, especially anyone new to online gaming. The main site is just a boilerplate web page with a few sub-pages. To access the games, players need to create an account, deposit, download separate gaming software, and funnel credits into it. These steps are quite convoluted, making Skills & Slots hard to recommend.
Tack on the fact that you must download a separate program onto your desktop for each gaming platform at Skills & Slots. That’s the sour frosting on this dry, tasteless cake. Again, we can’t recommend taking a bite.

The variety here is generally impressive.
The real standout—and one of the reasons the site gets a 2.5 in this category—is the variety of fish games. In these titles, players control harpoons and try to hook fish as they swim across the screen. Bigger fish give more points. Frankly, fish table games are a lot of fun, and they’re still rare in the sweepstakes casino world.
The options to play keno, bingo, pick’em, and other games also bring the score up.
So why not a higher score? Well, these games are split among the various gaming “softwares” that Skills & Slots aggregates. If you wanted to play one game at RSweeps and then switch over to a game on V-Power, you’d need to 1) have both platforms installed, 2) transfer your credits, and 3) switch between them to play the game you want.
Once again, Skills & Slots makes everything more complicated than it needs to be. If all of these games were available on just one platform, Skills & Slots would have a much higher score.
Skills & Slots Purchase and Redemption Options Grade—2/5
Skills & Slots has numerous elements of its deposit and redemption options that make us uncomfortable and unable to recommend the casino.
First and foremost, the site only allows cryptocurrency deposits. Skills & Slots advertises its recent additions to the deposit options, including Cash App, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and credit cards. These methods are available, but your deposit is automatically converted into Bitcoin.
You also need to provide a Social Security number and confirm your identity to create a Juno account. Juno is Skills & Slots’ banking partner, and it gives you a debit account. The Juno app is practically required to make deposits and withdrawals at Skills & Slots—yet another layer in this needlessly complex process. Plus, you encounter fees when you deposit, which you won’t find at our recommended social and sweepstakes casinos above.
Redemptions are also a bit cumbersome at Skills & Slots. Here’s a direct quote from the site’s FAQ section (at the time of this review) under ‘How To Redeem Credits’: “Select the Gaming Account you want to redeem credits from. If the amount is available for redemption, it will be transferred to your Skills & Slots balance. Please make sure that you are logged out from the game to process the redemption request.”
In other words, you must request a redemption from the gaming software holding your credits, then log out and go to the Skills & Slots homepage to get your redemption. Redemptions come in the form of Bitcoin, so you must set up a cryptocurrency wallet.
The cryptocurrency aspect alone is enough to make us uncomfortable with Skills & Slots. The process for depositing and redeeming just hammers the point further.
Skills & Slots Customer Service Grade—2/5
The main customer support option at Skills & Slots is live chat. It’s available in the bottom right corner of the screen on the desktop. To start a live chat, you must enter your email address and then type in your question.
Notably, Skills & Slots’ live chat tool says “We reply immediately” in the live chat window. This is far from the truth. When we tested the chat, we typed a question and waited more than five minutes for a response.
Our question—“Is Skills & Slots legal in Illinois?”—went unanswered for about 10 minutes. The representative eventually responded kindly and with a detailed answer, explaining that Skills & Slots is licensed in Costa Rica. In this way, she didn’t really answer our question, at least not directly.
There’s no email or phone support at Skills & Slots as far as we can tell, another reason for a low score here. Skills & Slots also has an FAQ page, but the answers to every question are vague and lackluster.
