BetMGM said Oct. 6 that members of BetMGM Rewards can now redeem loyalty points for live event tickets through a new partnership with ticketing platform Gametime.
The change broadens how BetMGM customers can use rewards beyond gambling-related redemptions. Before the partnership, points could be used for free bets, online casino bonus credits, poker fees, sports wagering, or transferred to MGM Rewards or converted into Marriott Bonvoy points.
BetMGM expands rewards beyond betting
Under the new setup, BetMGM Rewards members convert loyalty credits into Gametime funds and use those funds to buy tickets on the Gametime platform. BetMGM said the partnership gives rewards members access to tickets for “high-demand” live events.
“Loyalty isn’t just about earning and spending points; it’s about giving players opportunities to enjoy special moments they can’t find anywhere else,” BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost said in a statement.
Prevost added that the Gametime deal gives customers “more flexibility in how they use their points while connecting them to the events they care about most.”
Gametime, which describes itself as a mobile-first ticketing platform, said listed prices include all fees. The company also advertises a Lowest Price Guarantee, which it says pays 110% of the difference if a buyer finds a lower price elsewhere.
What the partnership means for BetMGM players
Enrollment in BetMGM Rewards is automatic when a customer creates an account in one of the 23 states and Washington, DC, where the app is available for sports betting and/or iGaming, according to BetMGM. The company also said rewards points can be earned through wagers placed at retail BetMGM sportsbooks nationwide.
The announcement adds a non-wagering redemption option to a loyalty program tied closely to BetMGM’s broader sportsbook and casino business. In its first-quarter earnings report, BetMGM said it held a 13% market share in the 23 jurisdictions where its online sportsbook operates and a 20% share in its four iGaming states.
Gametime founder and CEO Brad Griffith said the partnership is meant to give players an easier way to exchange rewards for experiences outside betting.
“Live events have a way of turning a good day into a great story, and that’s the reason Gametime exists,” Griffith said. “Partnering with BetMGM lets us bring that feeling to even more fans, giving players a fast, easy way to trade their rewards for a night they won’t forget.”
BetMGM did not disclose in the announcement which events are included, whether the feature is live in every BetMGM jurisdiction, or what conversion rates apply when points are turned into Gametime funds.
