Online casino growth continues, even below July’s record
Through the first eight months of the year, New Jersey internet gaming win reached $2.13 billion, up 13.2% from $1.88 billion in the same period of 2025.
The sector generated $57.7 million in taxes in August and $473.4 million year to date.
Among operators, FanDuel Casino remained the market leader in August with $56.7 million in revenue, down 0.7% from a year earlier. DraftKings ranked second at $43.5 million, down 7.5%, while BetMGM was third at $35.1 million, up 7.8%.
Several other brands posted stronger growth rates. Fanatics rose 30.7% to $13.1 million in August, and its year-to-date revenue more than doubled to $106.4 million, up 100.6%. Golden Nugget generated $11.3 million, up 28.8%, while BetRivers increased 28.1% to $10.7 million.
Further down the market, bet365 rose 46.6% to $3.4 million, and Resorts Casino increased 47.6% to $2.6 million. New Caesars-affiliated brands also reported August revenue, including Betinia at $1.1 million, Vegas Club Casino at $875,415, and Ember Casino at $591,981.
Sports betting and Atlantic City casinos trail last year’s pace in August
Atlantic City’s nine casino hotels reported $294.9 million in casino win for August, down 5.5% from $311.9 million a year earlier. Even so, casino win was still up 1.8% year to date at $2.01 billion.
Sports wagering gross revenue fell 25% to $61.4 million from $81.9 million in August 2025. The Division of Gaming Enforcement said the decline was primarily due to a later start to the fall sports calendar for some sports, including college football, and a lower overall win percentage.
For the year through August, sports wagering revenue was down 5.3% to $671.4 million.
Total gaming revenue for New Jersey casinos, racetracks, and their partners fell 4.1% in August to $615.7 million. Still, for the first eight months of the year, total gaming revenue increased 5.4% to $4.81 billion from $4.57 billion. Total gross revenue taxes came to $81.5 million in August and $674.2 million through August.
The next key data point for the market will be New Jersey’s September revenue report, which will show whether online casino wins return to record pace after August’s pullback from July.
