Sweden-based Supremeland Gaming has received licenses in New Jersey and West Virginia less than a month after making its US debut in Pennsylvania. Players in the two new states will soon be able to play two slots by Supremeland’s Powderkeg Studios:
- Munition Mine
- Red Panda Rising
That’s the extent of the company’s active catalog at the moment, as it has only been operating for a few months. However, it has more games in the pipeline. According to its website, Wild Quad Squad and Die Piñata Die will be available soon.
While the parent company, Supremeland, is European, Powderkeg Studios is based in Las Vegas. It’s brand new, having launched its first game in November 2023.
In New Jersey, Supremeland Gaming will distribute its games through a partnership with the content aggregator EveryMatrix. Some of EveryMatrix’s US partners include BetMGM, DraftKings, and BetRivers.
Erik Nyman, President of EveryMatrix Americas, said that EveryMatrix has created a solid framework for creating third-party games on its platform and carefully chooses partner studios. He added,
We have selected a number of high-quality games studios to partner this way and very much appreciate the high-quality games Supremeland has developed on our platform. We are confident they will be appreciated by US players who will now also enjoy bonus capabilities across these games that haven’t been seen in the market until now.
Meanwhile, in West Virginia, Supremeland Gaming received an interim Supplier License, which allows the company to offer its content in the state and partner with casino operators. West Virginia is a small market compared to other iGaming states, but that could make it easier for a small brand like Powderkeg to stand out.
Receiving licenses in New Jersey and West Virginia shortly after the Pennsylvania announcement could mean Supremeland Gaming and Powderkeg Studios could also be aiming toward other iGaming states, especially Michigan. In 2023, The Great Lakes State generated over $1.9 billion in gross gaming revenue, ranking second after Pennsylvania.
Red Panda Rising—a Hybrid Theme With Expanding Wilds
Red Panda Rising braids three thematic threads that are popular in the US: Asian slots, cartoon animals, and fantasy. As the name suggests, the characters are red pandas, in a setting that appears based on feudal Japan.
The slot features a traditional 3×5 reel layout, 25 paylines, and high volatility. Its RTP is 94.31%, on the low side for US online slots.
The minimum bet is $0.25, while the maximum is $100. A highlight is the rare feature of wilds substituting for all symbols, including scatters. In addition, during the base game, wilds can randomly expand to cover the entire reel.
The slot is centered around its Expanding Wilds. During ordinary gameplay, these have a chance to expand to fill the whole reel.
Unusually, they also count as scatter symbols for purposes of triggering free spins. Triggering the bonus round requires three Scatters or Wilds, but they must be on adjacent reels. During the bonus round, Wilds always expand to fill the reel and remain locked for the remainder of the free spins. Moreover, each Wild also carries a multiplier of between 1x and 25x. Wilds can only occur on the three middle reels, but filling all of these during free spins can lead to very big wins.
Where legal, the game has a Buy Bonus feature. By paying 30x your bet, you can get seven free spins, while for 441x your wager, you can get nine or 11 free spins with at least one locked Wild to start.
