ClubWPT is a subscription-based online poker site associated with the long-running World Poker Tour television show and live tour. Unlike other social and sweepstakes poker sites and casinos, players pay cash to become members of ClubWPT, and in return get to play games in which they can win real money prizes or even entries into live WPT tournaments. ClubWPT members can compete for more than $100,000 in cash and prizes each month.
I’m a longtime online poker player with fond memories of “back in the day” when there were dozens of sites available to US players. Those days are gone, and ClubWPT has managed to fill a void for many. While I personally prefer other types of online poker besides the subscription-based model at ClubWPT, I appreciate what the site provides, especially to dedicated tournament players.
Read on for full, honest assessment of ClubWPT including information about site features, bonuses, promotions, and everything else you need to know about the site.
Subscription-Based Online Poker at ClubWPT
ClubWPT has been around in some form for a long time, having first launched way back in 2008 during the “poker boom” era. That’s a time when many of us (yours truly included) were watching the World Poker Tour on TV every week and enjoying the late great Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten’s commentary on some of the most exciting televised poker being produced. That was also when I was playing a lot of poker online at real-money online poker sites.
Since I had so many other options, I didn’t give ClubWPT a try back then. Meanwhile, the US online poker landscape has changed quite a bit since the 2000s. Those sites I was playing on before are no longer available to me in the state where I live. ClubWPT gives players like me a legal way to play online poker in almost every state (plus DC) except for Michigan, Montana, and Washington. Note that you must be at least 18 years old to join ClubWPT and play games on the site.

I like the fact that ClubWPT offers a legal way to enjoy online poker in places where there aren’t that many alternatives. There are always games going, and for those willing to spend money on a membership ClubWPT offers lots of chances to win big prizes including entries into prestigious World Poker Tour events.
The software is not dazzling, and in fact feels quite dated (making me think back to those online poker days of the 2000s). It is perfectly adequate, though, and I haven’t experienced any real issues or glitches. You can chat, take notes, review stats or previous hand, and adjust a few table settings.
You can play via a web browser or by downloading a separate ClubWPT client, if you prefer. ClubWPT also offers a dedicated mobile app for both iOS and Android devices.
Let’s get into some of the ins and outs of ClubWPT, as well as some of the pros and cons.
Pros and Cons of Playing Online Poker at ClubWPT
Pros
- Provides legal online poker to nearly every US state.
- Tournaments and sit-n-go’s run constantly, providing lots of options every time you log in.
- Offers ways to win cash prizes and entries into World Poker Tour live events.
- Free Play Chips every day for everyone, and free Tournament Points for VIP and Diamond members.
Cons
- Subscription model with monthly, quarterly, or annual payments may not suit some players’ preferences.
- Paying the fee might make you feel obligated to play a certain amount, even if you don’t want to.
- No ring games for Tournament Points, only Play Chips.
- Playing the site's marquee Super SATurday event requires paying an extra $100 to month.
- The only option for receiving winnings is check by mail with a potentially long processing time.
What is the ClubWPT Promo Code?
You don’t need a promo code when registering at ClubWPT when creating your account. Nor do you need one if you are getting a paid subscription. You’ll still receive the welcome bonuses of Play Chips and (if you’re getting a paid account) you’ll start receiving your daily Tournament Points along with whatever other benefits go with the level you’ve chosen (VIP, Diamond, and/or the Super SATurday subscription).
How do ClubWPT Bonuses Compare to Other Sites?
Since ClubWPT is a subscription-based site, it is difficult to compare its bonuses and promotions to what you find at online poker sites that use a sweepstakes model.
Those who get basic memberships at ClubWPT receive 5,000 Play Chips upon registering. They can also start collecting 500 more Play Chips every two hours. Those who get paid memberships also start receiving 500 Tournament Points each day as well. That might be considered a daily “bonus,” but in truth the players have already paid for that with their membership subscriptions.
Meanwhile, the TP tournaments have prizes consisting of Tournament Points and in some cases cash prizes for the top finishers. Those cash prizes might resemble “added” prizes, say, when a site runs a freeroll and contributes a certain amount of cash as a prize pool. You’ll see that model used at some sweeps sites, actually, such as at Stake.us where the site offers traditional player-versus-player poker and each day runs multiple free-to-play tournaments with either 50 or 200 in Stake Cash added to the prize pool.
At ClubWPT, though, the players have paid money every month to participate in these events, and so the money isn’t really “added” but comes from the players themselves.
ClubWPT Loyalty Bonus Program
One area where we can certainly talk about bonuses at ClubWPT is in the context of the ClubWPT Loyalty Bonus Program.
Any ClubWPT VIP member or ClubWPT Diamond member who has been a member for three straight months receives a loyalty bonus of 10,000 Tournament Points. The bonus is awarded on the 15th of the following month, so (for example) if you’ve been a member from January through March, you’ll get your bonus on April 15.
It’s a pretty simple program without complicated levels or tiers. Also, everyone whose is a paid member gets the bonus, so it doesn’t require putting in a certain amount of volume or wagering a certain amount to get it.
Options for Joining ClubWPT and What You Get When You Do
From the outside, ClubWPT probably appears a bit complicated, a factor that understandably prevents many from exploring it. There are actually multiple ways to join ClubWPT, which means you’ll have to figure out which one is the most appealing to you before you get involved.
When you visit the website and click “Sign Up,” you’ll need to create a username and password and also share the following:
- full name
- email address
- date of birth
- phone number
- mailing address
You’ll also have to set up a security question and answer as well as tick boxes saying you agree to the site’s privacy policy and terms and conditions. You’ll also be sent an email with a validation code in order to verify your email address, although you don’t have to do that right away.
From there you’ll be confronted with no less than four different options for how to join ClubWPT. One of these options is to simply sign up for a basic membership and only play games for free.
The other three paid options are the ones that give you the chance to win cash prizes. For each of the paid options there is a recurring fee, and with each of these you’ll have to enter payment information when signing up. You can choose to start out with a 14-day free trial, but you’ll still have to enter your payment info.
Look below for more details about each of the available options.
ClubWPT Membership Options

Basic Membership
You can create an account and simply play the free games at ClubWPT with a Basic Membership. You receive 5,000 Play Chips when you register, and you can get 500 more PC for free every two hours. You can buy more PC with packages starting at $4.99 for 30,000 Chips and going up to $499.99 for 10 million, but you don’t have to.
Unlike at no-deposit sweepstakes casinos, when you buy Play Chips at ClubWPT, you don’t receive any bonuses of Tournament Points. Only those who purchase membership plans receive Tournament Points with which to play TP games.

ClubWPT VIP
You can become a member of ClubWPT VIP by first selecting a free two-week trial, then afterwards you’ll be charged $33.95 a month. You still have to share your payment information when you sign up, even if you choose to cancel after the trial.
There are options to be charged quarterly for $89.95 or annually for $299.95. You can also to add Super SATurdays to your subscription for an extra $100 a month.
ClubWPT VIP members can play a variety of freerolls every day. They also receive 500 Tournaments Points each day with which they can enter TP tournaments that award more Tournament Points and cash prizes. VIP members receive other exclusive benefits, too, including streaming of WPT TV show episodes.

ClubWPT Diamond
Joining ClubWPT Diamond is a level up from regular VIP and costs considerably more at $149.95 per month. That doesn’t include Super SATurdays, either, which you can add for another $100 per month.
Those who join ClubWPT Diamond also get 500 TP’s per day and access to all the same tournaments the regular VIP members can play. Diamond members additionally are able to take advantage of exclusive LearnWPT Insider Access, the site’s educational program for help with strategy.
In addition, Diamond members get to play Diamond-exclusive freerolls that award cash prizes. There are usually a couple of Diamond tournaments scheduled each day plus some special monthly events, and the prize pools for these tournaments can range from $1,000 to $10,000.

Super SATurdays
You can also just play Super SATurdays and nothing else for $100 a month. As noted above, there’s no way to play this weekly event without paying a separate fee of $100 each month, even if you are a member of Club VIP or Club VIP Diamond.
Super SATurday event is a multi-table no-limit hold’em tournament that happens every Saturday night at 7 p.m. ET. It is called “SATurday” because it is a satellite tournament in which the top five finishers win seats into $1,100 buy-in WPT Championship events. Those making the final table and finishing 6th-9th get to split $500 in cash. Often the top prizes are into WPT tournaments with even larger buy-ins (e.g., $2,500 or $5,000).
There is no entry fee into the Super SATurday tournaments. Everyone who purchases the $100/mo. package gets a seat, which amounts to a $20-$25 buy-in per event. That’s not bad considering the potential prizes up top, but this is obviously only for those who are interested in playing live WPT events.
What Is ClubWPT Gold?
In early 2025, ClubWPT Gold was introduced, a distinct site from ClubWPT where those who want to play will need to register a separate account. Unlike the regular ClubWPT site that works uses a subscription model, ClubWPT Gold is more like a sweepstakes casino, using Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins in a fashion that will be familiar to those who play at social and sweeps sites.
Registering an account requires entering a mobile phone number and an email address, and you’ll have to confirm both. You’ll also be agreeing to receive text messages when you register. The good news is you don’t have to pay anything up front, and you can choose whether or not to purchase coin packages (like at other sweeps sites).
Note that like the regular ClubWPT site, you have to be at least 18 to play at ClubWPT Gold. The site is also available throughout the US except for MI, MT, and WA, with Idaho also on the list of excluded states for ClubWPT Gold.
Since ClubWPT Gold is so new, I have yet to get a chance really to try it out. To be honest, the idea of the site is more appealing to me than the regular ClubWPT site, as I like the freedom to play whenever I want and not feel obligated to play a certain amount to justify paying a monthly fee.
How Do ClubWPT Poker Games Work?
In some ways, ClubWPT resembles a sweepstakes poker site like Global Poker, but it is actually quite different.
One point in common is the way ClubWPT uses two virtual currencies, Play Chips (PC) and Tournament Points (TP). These might be compared to Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins, but they aren’t actually the same.
Play Chips are like “play money.” They have no cash value and you can use to play ring games, sit-n-go’s, or tournaments just for fun. Meanwhile, when you play with Tournament Points you can use them to enter multi-table tournaments and sit-n-go’s that award cash prizes, more Tournament Points, and in some cases entries into live WPT events.
Also like with Sweeps Coins, you can’t purchase Tournament Points directly. Members are given a certain amount per day with which to play, though, which means in a practical sense they are purchasing them when they pay their membership fees.
Meanwhile, as mentioned above you can purchase Play Chips, but you don’t get any Tournament Points on the side as a bonus like you do at sweepstakes poker sites and casinos.
Games Available at ClubWPT
ClubWPT is primarily all about tournaments, and there are plenty every day to choose from. There are sit & go’s and ring games (for Play Chips only). There are even a few non-poker casino games on the site. Here’s an overview of the different games available at ClubWPT.
ClubWPT Ring Games
ClubWPT has ring games (aka, “cash games”). However, these are only for Play Chips. There are no ring games that use Tournament Points.
Here were ring games available the last time I checked:
- Hold’em (no-limit & fixed-limit),
- Omaha (pot-limit),
- Omaha hi-lo (pot-limit, fixed-limit, no-limit)
- Seven-Card Stud (fixed-limit)
The buy-ins for these games range from 25/50 PC to 2,000/4,000 PC. I’ve also seen a “high roller” no-limit Omaha hi-lo table where the blinds were 200,000/400,000 PC.
ClubWPT Tournaments
Those who become VIP or Diamond members get to play a variety of multi-table tournaments at ClubWPT. At any given moment, there are usually dozens of tournaments either running or open for registration, sometimes even more.
The great majority of the tournaments are no-limit hold’em, with a few pot-limit Omaha tournaments sprinked in as well. You’ll also occasionally see a fixed-limit hold’em tournament on the schedule.

A lot of these tournaments are freerolls, meaning anyone who is a member can jump in and play for free. These freerolls usually have prize pools made up of Tournament Points, although sometimes you’ll find entries into TP tourneys and other prizes up top.
There are also TP tournaments for which players use their Tournament Points to enter. You can win more Tournament Points in these events as well, and often there are additional cash prizes for the top finishers. For example, the “$200 Nooner” is a regular 50 TP buy-in tournament that awards $200 in cash prizes up top for the top 18 finishers, with everyone who makes the “money” winning Tournament Points as well.
The buy-ins for the non-freeroll TP tournaments usually range rom 50 TP to 500 TP, although there are some special events with higher buy-ins. For instance, the regular $4,000 Cash VIP Funday tournament requires 2,000 Tournament Points to play. As you might expect, the higher buy-in tournaments with bigger prizes can attract fields featuring a decent percentage of skilled players.
ClubWPT VIP members can play most of the tournaments on the schedule. ClubWPT Diamond members additionally get to play in a number of Diamond freerolls that feature
ClubWPT Sit & Go’s
Sit & Go’s are always running at ClubWPT. Most are no-limit hold’em, and you’ll always see a few pot-limit Omaha SNG’s as well. There are nine-handed, six-handed, and heads-up SNG’s, and often there will be a 50-player SNG available although that one usually takes a long time to attract 50 entrants.
For VIP and Diamond members, these SNG’s have buy-ins ranging from 25 TP up to 5,000 TP. Sometimes be a freeroll SNG with TP prizes will pop up on the schedule, too.
There are Play Chip tournaments and sit-n-go’s as well at ClubWPT. These are either no-limit hold’em or pot-limit Omaha, and the buy-ins usually range from 550 PC to 5,500 PC.
Casino Games at ClubWPT
If you want to play other online casino games like slots and table games, you can do that as well at ClubWPT. The ClubWPT casino features:
- Slots — there are around 60 slots, including several exclusives and one jackpot slot, Jackpot Shores
- Table Games — a small selection of 10 games include baccarat, roulette, craps, two blackjack games, and multiple keno games
- Video Poker — there are a half-dozen video poker titles, including Jacks or Better and Deuces Wild
You can play these casino games for free at ClubWPT with your Play Chips. I would imagine not many who sign up at ClubWPT are bothering much with these games, as poker is the main focus of the site and there are much better sites available for online casino games. I know I haven’t spent a lot of time with them, but they are there if you want to take a break from poker.
Banking Options at ClubWPT
As described above, there isn’t any “depositing” or “withdrawing” at ClubWPT. Rather, you make purchases either of subscriptions or Play Chips, and if you win cash prizes you can collect them later.
Making Purchases at ClubWPT
I mentioned before how even if you’re only getting a 14-day free trial, you still have enter some type of payment info when doing so. ClubWPT offers two ways to pay:
- direct deposit billing (ACH)
- credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Discover)
Those are your options when purchasing a subscription. It appears that when buying Play Chips you can only use a credit card, although I haven’t tried it.
Collecting Winnings at ClubWPT
If you do happen to win a cash prize at ClubWPT, you only have one option to receive it. You must request a check by mail.
The first time you attempt to claim a prize, you’ll have to provide a scan or photo of one of the approved forms of identification in order to prove your identity, your residency, and your age. Send that in via email, fax, or regular mail. If you have won $600 or more, you also have to complete and return an IRS form W-9 so that ClubWPT can issue you a 1099 at the end of the year.
Once you’ve submitted everything, ClubWPT asks to “please allow 4 weeks for processing once all required information is received.” In other words, it might be a month before you receive your winnings.
Compared to other social and sweepstakes sites, including online poker sites, this is a much longer wait than you have when redeeming winnings for cash prizes or gift cards. It’s also obviously a lot different from playing on regulated real-money online poker sites like BetMGM Poker or WSOP.com in states that allow them.
Contacting ClubWPT Customer Support
You can reach customer support at ClubWPT via two ways. You can email your question to them at [email protected]. You can also phone them at 800-619-7866 on Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. ET to 11 p.m. ET. There is no live chat support.
I’ve only contacted customer support via email, and have found the responses helpful if not especially quick. I haven’t encountered any significant challenges while playing, though, and so I haven’t had to seek assistance with any major issues.
What Others Say About ClubWPT
User reviews for ClubWPT are not so hot. For example, at the time of writing there were only a small sample of just over 50 reviews on Trustpilot, which shows the site isn’t getting the attention, say, of Global Poker which has well over 1,000 reviews. The ratings aren’t great for ClubWPT, either, averaging 1.6 stars out of 5.
For the ClubWPT apps, the Apple one has a rating of 2.6 (of 5) with just over 80 reviews. The Android app has a rating of 3.6 (of 5) with about 300 reviews.
There are the usual “site is rigged”-type complaints from bad beat sufferers which most seasoned online poker players know can be disregarded. There’s no reason to doubt the integrity of the site or the random number generator that ensures fairness. A few reviewers point out how such comments are misguided. Some also find the weekly cash tournament prize pools to be modest and not frequent enough at ClubWPT.
There are positive reviews, too, with some regular players finding great value when comparing the cost versus the entertainment provided and potential rewards.

That said, there are other complaints as well. Some discuss software and connectivity issues, while other have had problems with customer service. A few have experienced difficulty trying to cancel their service, getting charged even after they’ve decided they no longer wish to continue with site. This is worrisome for those contemplating signing up, as you don’t want to get involved in a situation where you cannot easily end your subscription.

One of the great joys of online poker is the fact that you can “walk away” from the virtual tables whenever you like. This is where the subscription model can be a drawback, I think, as you are somewhat obligated to play a certain amount in order to justify the monthly fee. Of course, not being able to close your account makes that situation even less desirable.
My Final Verdict — Should You Sign Up at ClubWPT?
As a longtime online poker player who played on all the sites “back in the day,” I have long felt the desire to find ways to play over the years since “Black Friday.” That has been a challenge sometimes, especially since my state is not one of the ones that has introduced legal real money online poker.
I can’t say that ClubWPT presents an option that works for me, but I know for many players it is a good fit. If you don’t mind the monthly fee and like always having tournaments you can enter every day, you might enjoy the site. Especially if you have some poker experience and can compete well against skilled players, you have a great chance both to win some money and challenge yourself at the virtual tables. You might even win your way into a WPT live event and give yourself a special poker experience.
Weigh the pros and cons discussed above and think about whether or not you want to check out ClubWPT with a free trial. For more casual players, I would recommend Global Poker above it, if only because it doesn’t require quite such a commitment, but you might find ClubWPT more to your liking.
