Think you’ve seen every Price Is Right game under the sun? Plinko, Showcase Showdown, spinning that big shiny wheel? Well, brace up, because the show is bringing out a brand new one called The Lion’s Share. And this is made possible through a collab with BetMGM. So expect a mix of classic Price Is Right fun with a little casino touch.
The game goes live on Sept. 22 as part of the show’s 54th season, and the stakes are something else. We’re talking about up to half a million dollars in prizes. That’s cars, trips, and a mountain of cash on the line. Basically, the kind of haul that makes you scream “COME ON DOWN!” from your couch.
“BetMGM is always looking for ways to create legendary moments. This collaboration combines the legacy of an iconic gameshow with the excitement of the BetMGM brand. The rarity of a new pricing game and the opportunity for players to win one of the largest prizes in the show’s history reflect BetMGM’s focus on bringing a world of unmatched entertainment to our players,” BetMGM CRO Matt Prevost said.
Inside The Lion’s Share
So, how does it play out?
- First, contestants guess the prices of everyday items, classic Price Is Right style. Each correct answer earns them a ball, up to five in total.
- Then those balls head into a wind tunnel chamber. Contestants step inside and grab as many as they can. Every ball is tied to a prize, but one unlucky ball says, “Lose It All.”
- At that point, it’s decision time: take what you’ve won so far or risk it for a chance at something even bigger.
What makes The Lion’s Share pop is the balance, is that, you still get the old-school price guessing we all know, followed by a finale that flips into a casino-style rush that keeps everyone glued in.
The Lion’s Share Expands Beyond TV
Why this game is sort of a big deal is that it’s the first brand-new pricing game added since 2021, and it kicks off a bigger collaboration between BetMGM and Fremantle, the company behind The Price Is Right.
Even better, the game is already being developed for casinos and online play. Yup, sometime in 2026 you’ll be able to play The Lion’s Share yourself, without needing to run down to Contestant’s Row.
And it’s not just The Price Is Right making casino moves. Family Feud is also getting a makeover, with a live dealer game show twist coming to Las Vegas and online casinos.
Oh, and if you love the show for more than the games, don’t worry. All your favorite models—Rachel, Manuela, Amber, James, Devin, and Alexis—are back to show off the goods. Plus, this season is packed with themed specials for holidays, Breast Cancer Awareness, Pet Adoption Week, and more.
When you step back and look at it, this is part of a bigger trend. Game shows have found new life in casinos. Deal or No Deal is a live casino hit, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire turned into a global slot favorite, and Wheel of Fortune has been dominating casino floors for decades. The Price Is Right joining forces with BetMGM just feels like the natural next step.
For players, it’s a win all around. You get the nostalgia of a game show you grew up with, plus new ways to actually play it yourself. For the show, it’s a way to bring in new fans while rewarding the old ones.
“It’s an exciting moment when a new game is added. Partnering with BetMGM, a brand known for innovation in games and entertainment, is the perfect collaboration. We look forward to bringing a fresh energy to a timeless format, while honoring the iconic gameplay fans know and love,” Fremantle’s Chief Operating Officer Suzanne Lopez said.
