Legal online casino platforms saw continued traction from US players in June. New Jersey monthly revenue nearly matched the record-setting numbers reported from the Garden State in May, as the state’s retail casinos stayed closed for the entire month.

Online casino platforms in Pennsylvania and Delaware continued to enjoy success as well, even with land-based casinos reopening in those states in June.

More Big Numbers For New Jersey Online Casinos

June revenue figures for New Jersey’s online casinos came up just short of the all-time record set last month. Combined earnings across all online casinos ended at $81,376,070 for June, nearly identical to the May 2020 revenue figures of $81,423,413. The Division of Gaming Enforcement figures for June can be read here.

All retail casinos in New Jersey remained shut down for the entire month of June due to the COVID-19 pandemic. June marked the third full of closure for Atlantic City’s land-based casinos.

Coinciding with those shutdowns, April, May, and June 2020 marked the three biggest revenue-earning months in the history of New Jersey online casinos. Most Atlantic City retail casinos reopened in limited capacities at the beginning of July, which could affect next month’s online casino revenue figures.

Golden Nugget Atlantic City continues it’s reign as the top online casino operator. Golden Nugget NJ and Betfair Casino, both under the Golden Nugget Atlantic City license, operate as two of the top three revenue-earning online casino skins in the state.

Each of the three online poker operators continue to earn relatively even shares of the overall market, with Caesars Interactive taking the top spot for June.

Pennsylvania Players Continue To Go Online

June 2020 saw Pennsylvania’s online casinos post the second-highest overall monthly revenue in the industry’s history. Revenue for June posted at $46,814,333.

That number is down 8.6% from May’s record-setting figure of over $51 million, but still stands as the second-biggest month ever for Pennsylvania’s online casinos, by far.

Land-based casinos in the Keystone State began reopening in June. Even with the return of retail gambling, however, the state’s online casinos continued to flourish.

Rivers Casino Philadelphia still sits atop the mountain among online casino operators in Pennsylvania. Rivers Casino’s two skins, SugarHouse and BetRivers, are scheduled to merge into a single BetRivers-branded platform later this year.

Penn National Gaming’s pair of brands (Hollywood Casino and DraftKings Casino) brought in more than $9.6 million combined in June. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reports revenue for the two skins as different licenses.

The full June rundown from the PGCB can be found here.
