The upward growth trend for online casino revenue slowed down in New Jersey and Pennsylvania this month, but iGaming is still booming in the two biggest US markets for mobile gambling.
New Jersey’s online casinos posted the second-best month in the history of the state’s industry, while Pennsylvania extended its streak of record-breaking revenues for a fifth straight month.
Online casino revenue in New Jersey is beginning to approach land-based casino revenues, as a landmark year for legal online casino gaming continues in 2020.

Another Strong Month For New Jersey’s Mobile Casinos
The four-month streak of New Jersey online casinos breaking monthly revenue records came to an end in November. Online casino gaming is still booming in the Garden State, however.
New Jersey’s online casinos set an all-time high in July, posting $82.64 million in revenue. August, September, and October each set new monthly benchmarks as mobile gaming revenue surged for New Jersey operators.
November revenues dropped 1.7% from October, bringing in over $89.4 million. That marks the second-highest revenue-earning month in the history of the state’s online casino industry.
New Jersey’s land-based casinos, by comparison, brought in $146.5 million in November from slots and table games. The Golden Nugget Atlantic City license still reigns supreme in New Jersey, but Borgata and Resorts Digital Gaming continue to creep up on Golden Nugget’s market share.
With one month remaining in 2020, online casinos have earned more than $835 million this year. Could a $1 billion year happen for New Jersey’s mobile casinos in 2021?

New Jersey’s three regulated online poker operators held steady in November, with just under $2.4 million in combined revenue earned. November marked the third straight month in which New Jersey’s poker sites took in right around that number, with September ($2.55 million) and October (just under $2.52 million) showing similar figures.
December could be a big month for online poker in New Jersey, with the World Poker Tour running a Main Tour event on the partypoker US Network, which includes three of the skins under the Borgata license.

Pennsylvania Mobile Casinos Extend Peak Performance
Like New Jersey, Pennsylvania enjoyed a four-month streak of successive record-setting months in online casino revenues from July through October. November revenue figures posted by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board saw that run continue, with mobile casinos showing a slight gain of 0.05% from October.
The top three operators in the state all posted similar numbers for the second consecutive month. Rivers Philadelphia, Penn National’s DraftKings Casino license, and Valley Forge Casino (FanDuel Casino‘s land-based partner) take the top three market share spots in the booming Pennsylvania market.
Total revenue for PA online casinos went over the $461 million mark in November. By year’s end, the Keystone State’s mobile casino market will likely top the half-billion mark in annual revenue.

Consistent Earnings From PokerStars PA
Pennsylvania’s one operating legal poker site, PokerStars PA, hovered around the $2.4 million revenue mark for the third consecutive month. Pennsylvania poker players will soon have more online options to choose from, as both 888 and partypoker are expected to enter the state sometime in 2021.
PokerStars PA debuted in November 2019, with this month marking the one-year period for PokerStars in the Pennsylvania market. The Pennsylvania platform has earned more than $33 million in revenue for 2020.

Slight Drop For WV Online Casinos In November
West Virginia’s pair of online casinos combined for more than $2 million in monthly revenue for the second straight month. November’s figure of $2,057,046 dipped slightly, however, down 4.3% from October’s all-time high.
Both BetMGM and DraftKings Casino debuted in West Virginia in August 2020, and the state’s mobile casino market is still in its infancy as 2020 comes to a close. The weekly revenue figures from the West Virginia Lottery can be viewed here.

Has Delaware Online Gaming Revenue Peaked For 2020?
Both online casino and poker revenues declined for the third consecutive month in Delaware. The state’s 888-powered online casino platform dipped 11.5% from October to November and is down almost 50% from its peak 2020 month in May ($1.13 million).
Online poker dropped 15.7% in November when compared to October. Online gaming revenue is still up big versus 2019, however, as both mobile casino and poker revenue is up more than 130% against year-to-date figures from November 2019.
