Resorts World Bet is moving forward with its plans to launch a New Jersey online casino. So far, the online gambling brand only offers mobile sports betting in New York.

On Oct. 16, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) released records showing the gaming regulator approved Resorts World Bet’s request “to continue to conduct internet gaming and sports wagering-related business transactions.”

DGE’s Oct. 3 approval lasts until April 6, 2025, and allows RWB NJ to continue payments related to its online gambling market access agreement with Ocean Resort Casino.

That Oct. 3 paperwork to continue the market access agreement first approved on Dec. 5, 2022, followed a one-month DGE review that began on Sept. 6.

On Oct. 16, DGE records, RWB sites, and RWB social media accounts showed the online gambling brand affiliated with Genting Group wasn’t yet live in New Jersey. That would require further DGE approvals, the gaming regulator’s RWB NJ records said.

Resorts World Bet Entering New Jersey Soon?

The reason for the delay is unclear, considering New Jersey online casinos have been legal for a decade and New York doesn’t yet offer iGaming. Plus, the Garden State online casinos and poker rooms provide the opportunity to claim a portion of the $198.4 million in gross gaming revenue (GGR) the current skins generated in August.

Meanwhile, Brian O’Dwyer — chairman of the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC) — said he’ll be keeping a close eye on the online brand’s land-based counterparts.

Resorts World New York City may seek a full casino license when an NYSGC-appointed board begins accepting applications on June 27, 2025. O’Dwyer said on Sept. 23 that he’s concerned about criminal allegations against Genting-owned Resorts World Las Vegas. So he emphasized that the commission will “conduct a thorough review of all candidates” for the three available commercial casino licenses that are scheduled to be chosen by Dec. 31, 2025.

In a related matter, New Jerseyans may notice there’s already a “Resorts” online casino. However, that brand isn’t affiliated with Resorts World Bet.

Instead, Resorts Casino is already live in the Garden State and is on the Resorts Casino Hotel license. That land-based casino is a Mohegan Property.
