The iconic Stardust Casino brand is making a comeback, this time as a real money online casino in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Boyd Gaming and FanDuel have announced plans to bring the online casino to both states in April 2021.

Keith Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boyd Gaming, said: “For nearly 50 years, the Stardust was one of the most famous casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. And while the resort has been gone for more than a decade, the Stardust brand is still as well-known and popular as ever.  We are excited to work with our partners at FanDuel to launch our first real-money online casinos and are confident this legendary brand will give us a significant advantage in connecting with players looking for a distinctive online gaming experience.”

The Details

The Stardust real money online casino will be built on FanDuel’s platform. Boyd Gaming entered into a strategic partnership with FanDuel in 2018.

The Stardust online casino will launch pending regulatory approval in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Players will be able to link their B Connected player loyalty accounts to the platform to earn points and credits while they play.

The casino will compete with major operators in the state by offering a strong stable of games: baccarat, blackjack, roulette, video poker, live dealer, and, of course, slots.

“The new Stardust Casino will retain all of the great games that customers love on Betfair Casino, while incorporating a new stylish look that captures the glitz, glamour and nostalgia of old Las Vegas,” said Amy Howe, President of FanDuel Group.  “Stardust Casino allows us to take a market-leading product to the next level, creating a unified platform across New Jersey and Pennsylvania and integrating Boyd Gaming’s B Connected player loyalty program to provide even more value to our customers.”

Stardust’s Sparkling History

The Stardust Casino, which was demolished in 2007 after operating for 48 years, has cemented its place in the annals of gambling history. The property was the inspiration for the 1995 feature flick Casino, directed by Martin Scorsese. Siegfried and Roy also made their debut at the Stardust.

For some time, the Stardust was under mob control. In the early 80s, however, the government kicked out the mob and asked Boyd Gaming to take over operations for the property. Boyd Gaming obliged, and purchased the Stardust just a year and a half later.

In 2006, Stardust Casino closed its doors. Six months later, the now-legendary property was imploded.

Now, the Stardust is carrying on its legacy, reflecting the ever-evolving nature of the gambling arena. The launch of the online casino will revive the brand in a uniquely modern way. Players young and old will once again be able to experience the iconic Stardust Casino once it’s live.
