US’ Online Sportsbook Revenue Reports for June Contain Mostly Good News

Most major domestic sports leagues remained shut down throughout June, but legal online sportsbooks in the US still found a way to thrive. Driven by sports like table tennis, international soccer, and golf, many states with legal online sports betting realized month-over-month revenue gains.

New Jersey’s online sportsbooks took in more than $12.7 million in revenue, while Pennsylvania’s mobile sports betting platforms earned more than $6.7 million in June.

Colorado’s sports betting industry continued to post solid earnings, bringing in nearly $3.5 million in revenue in the second full month of operations.

New Jersey’s Online Sportsbooks Keep Climbing

Overall revenue for New Jersey’s online sportsbooks gained for the second consecutive month. New Jersey’s nine retail operators realized more than $12.7 million in overall revenue across the state’s 19 different online sports betting platforms.

The gains represented a 26.8% increase in month-over-month revenue compared to May. New Meadowlands, powered by the FanDuel Sportsbook skin, continues to reign supreme in New Jersey, with nearly half of all year-to-date revenue in New Jersey so far in 2020.

Resorts Digital Gaming, with DraftKings Sportsbook as it’s main revenue driver, held position as the second-highest revenue-earning operator in the state.

Despite widespread hiatus in domestic and international sports leagues, New Jersey’s online sportsbooks are up 12.8% in year-over-year earnings. Upward Trend Continues For Pennsylvania

Much like in New Jersey, Pennsylvania online sportsbooks enjoyed an increase in earnings compared to the previous month. Mobile sportsbooks in the Keystone State were up 14.2% in revenue overall, taking in more than $6.7 million.

FanDuel Sportsbook cleared $2.8 million in revenue for the second straight month, and continues to hold the top spot among the state’s online sportsbooks. DraftKings Sportsbook maintained status as Pennsylvania’s second-most popular platform, with more than $1.36 million earned in June.

The Pennsylvania scene remains competitive after DraftKings and FanDuel. Parx Sportsbook, FOX Bet, SugarHouse and BetRivers all realized month-to-month revenue gains.

Indiana’s Mobile Sportsbooks Lose Traction In June

The trend of revenue gains seen in Pennsylvania and New Jersey didn’t carry over to Indiana. Overall revenue for mobile sportsbooks in the Hoosier State took a hit compared to May, with a 14.5% decrease in earnings.

BetMGM realized a 7% revenue gain, but most of the other online platforms in Indiana decreased in month-to-month revenue. DraftKings Sportsbook still holds as the top choice for online sports betting in Indiana, followed by FanDuel Sportsbook.

Mobile Sports Betting Surges In Iowa

Led by William Hill Sportbook at Prairie Meadows, Iowa online sports betting platforms realized a 30.7% revenue gain overall from May to June.

DraftKings Sportsbook, licensed to Wild Rose Casino, saw a 105% increase in month-over-month revenue. Elite Sportsbook came in as another big gainer, realizing a 166.4% increase in June compared to May.

Colorado’s Sportbooks Off To A Solid Start

Legal sports betting in Colorado went live on May 1, 2020. In the second full month of operations for the industry, Colorado sportsbooks brought in more than $3.48 million in revenue.

Numbers from the Colorado Division of Gaming show that table tennis takes the top spot as the most popular sport for Colorado bettors in June. These numbers reflect reports on six online sportsbook and one retail sportsbook.

DraftKings SportsBook, FanDuel Sportsbook, and FOX Bet represent some of the mobile sportsbook choices for Colorado bettors.
