US Online Casinos Break Revenue Records Again In October

The upward potential of legal online gambling in the US continues to push the bar higher. In each of the last four months, New Jersey and Pennsylvania have reached record numbers in monthly revenue for online casinos.

Revenue numbers for the two biggest online casino markets in the nation still haven’t shown any signs of capping off. New Jersey’s online casino revenues for 2020 nearly reached the $750 million mark with October included.

Pennsylvania’s mobile casinos eclipsed the $400 million milestone in October, as online casino gaming continues to persist as one of the fastest-growing industries in the US.

Mobile Casino Revenue Sets All-Time Monthly Record Again In New Jersey

New Jersey’s online casinos set another new all-time record for monthly revenue, doing so for the fourth consecutive month. October 2020 now tops the list of biggest-earning months in the history of New Jersey’s online casino industry, followed by September, August, and July 2020.

Online casino operators in the Garden State went over the $90-million mark for the first time, earning $90,933,749 in revenue for November. Golden Nugget Atlantic City ($28.1 million) maintained its hold as the top-earning operator in the state,

Earnings for New Jersey’s most popular online casino operator hit an all-time monthly high in July when the Golden Nugget Atlantic City license topped the $31.4 million mark. After two straight declining months, Golden Nugget (Golden Nugget NJ, Betfair Casino, SugarHouse, BetAmerica) saw an 8.2% increase in month-to-month revenue for October.

Both Borgata and Resorts Digital Gaming went over the $20 million mark in monthly earnings for the first time, as they continue to battle for the No. 2 market share spot in the state. Golden Nugget, Borgata, and Resorts Digital Gaming make up 78% of the overall market share in New Jersey.

PA Mobile Market Continues 2020 Surge

Like New Jersey, Pennsylvania’s online casinos remain on a streak of setting new revenue highs in each passing month. The Keystone State’s mobile casinos have set all-time revenue records four months in a row, topped by the October 2020 mark of $57,337,926.

Penn National Gaming’s pair of licenses (DraftKings Casino, Hollywood Casino) took in more than $15.5 million in combined revenue for October, as Penn National continues to gain on Rivers Casino (SugarHouse, BetRivers) for the number one market share spot in Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reports the DraftKings and Hollywood online casinos as separate licenses. The Penn National Gaming DraftKings license by itself stands in the No. 2 spot in this month’s Pennsylvania roundup.

The booming Pennsylvania online casino market also includes competitive offerings from Valley Forge (FanDuel Casino), Parx Casino, and Mount Airy Casino Resort (PokerStars Casino).

October revenues brought the 2020 totals to over $400 million for the year in Pennsylvania.
