Kambi Group, a renowned US sports betting platform provider, announced a partnership with Affinity Interactive to launch DRF Sports, a new online sportsbook coming to several US markets in 2022 and 2023, starting with Iowa. As part of the deal, DRF Sports will operate using Kambi’s proprietary software.

Affinity Interactive currently offers DRF Bets, a horse race betting and sports guide site available in most states (DRF stands for “Daily Racing Forum”). The sports betting side, DRF Sports, will become a new Iowa online sportsbook in early 2022, followed by additional states.

“We are thrilled to work with the talented team at Affinity Interactive to provide our leading software to sports enthusiasts across the US,” said Kristian Nylén, CEO of Kambi. “This agreement is an exciting opportunity to showcase the strength of our product and leverage our experience to succeed in the competitive sports betting market.”

This partnership not only expands Kambi’s marketshare within Iowa, it will also grant Kambi access to more states throughout 2022 and 2023.

Kambi’s Other Major Partnerships

The Affinity Interactive deal is one of many in a growing line of high-profile partnerships for Kambi. Kambi’s other clients include sports betting giants like Penn National Gaming and Rush Street Interactive. Partnerships like these put Kambi’s technology in the sports betting market of Illinois, as well as other critical markets like New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Kambi has made important strides on its own as well. In November 2021, the New York State Gaming Commission awarded Kambi a mobile sports betting operator license. That means several of Kambi’s partners will be available in New York’s new mobile sports betting market, Including BetRivers, WynnBET, Caesars, Resorts Sportsbook, and PointsBet.

Kambi also positioned itself to be a major player in Louisiana’s burgeoning sports betting industry. In November 2021, Boomtown New Orleans and L’Auberge Casino Baton Rouge accepted sports wagers through Kambi’s sports betting platform. That means Kambi’s software played a key role in the earliest sports betting options in Louisiana, one of the most-watched emerging markets in US.

Although bettors may not recognize Kambi by name, many have used Kambi’s betting platform. Kambi’s partnership with Affinity Interactive is one more in a growing list of partnerships designed to quietly capture market share.

By design, Kambi will profit from the successes of several major brands at once, including PointsBet, Barstool Sportsbook, and soon, DRF Bets. As more sportsbooks adopt its software, Kambi will continue to solidify itself as one of the most important companies in the industry.
