More Big Numbers For US Online Casinos In February

US legal online casinos boomed in 2020, and so far 2021 appears on pace to shatter last year’s record-setting numbers.

The industry welcomed a new big player with the launch of Michigan’s online casinos in January. February marked the first complete month of operations for Michigan’s mobile casino apps.

The revenue numbers are in, and Michigan’s online casinos put up February revenue numbers that might exceed even the highest of expectations. Markets are thriving in states that elected to legalize online casinos.

Fast Start To 2021 Continues For New Jersey Online Casinos

New Jersey online casinos hit an all-time high in January, clearing the $100 million revenue mark for the first time. February saw total revenue dip 7.1% month-to-month, although January included three extra days compared to February.

The Borgata interactive gaming license (Borgata, BetMGM, PartyCasino, Pala Casino) keeps chipping away at the Golden Nugget Atlantic City license (Golden Nugget, Betfair, SugarHouse, TwinSpires) for the No. 1 spot in the battle for state market share.

With two months in the books, New Jersey online casinos are on pace to go over the $1 billion revenue mark by the end of 2021. The end of February figures puts New Jersey 91.3% ahead of the year-to-date marks set in 2020.

February Marks Another Big For Pennsylvania Mobile Casinos

The shorter month didn’t stop Pennsylvania’s online casinos from posting another run of success. February mobile casino revenue ended up just under $77.8 million.

Powered by a trio of platforms (DraftKings Casino, Hollywood Casino, BetMGM), the Penn National Hollywood Casino license tops the revenue rankings in February. Rivers Philadelphia’s pair of products (BetRivers, SugarHouse) makes the Rush Street Interactive-owned mobile casino line a major player in Pennsylvania as well.

Despite the loss of three days compared to January, Penn National and Valley Forge Casino (FanDuel Casino) actually posted gains month-to-month. The Pennsylvania online casino market continues to thrive, as seen by the February revenue figures posted by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

BetMGM, DraftKings Battle For West Virginia Market Share

West Virginia’s online casino industry sees an almost dead-even battle for market supremacy in the early months of 2021. The Mountain State’s pair of online casinos, BetMGM and DraftKings, have pulled almost identical revenue numbers through the first two months of the year.

The state’s online casinos posted a 1.8% month-to-month revenue gain, despite losing three days against January. February and January 2021 easily stand as the two biggest revenue-earning months in the history of West Virginia’s mobile casino market.
