BetMGM News

BetMGM emerged in 2018 as a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and European online gambling operator GVC, which later became Entain. MGM had already been offering online casino gaming in New Jersey since 2013 but recognized that the rapid expansion of the US market and the addition of sports betting required better technology and an experienced partner.

The new BetMGM brand quickly established itself as the frontrunner in the online casino space and a top-tier brand in sports betting. Since then, competition from DraftKings and FanDuel has grown intense. BetMGM products are available in almost every regulated state, including the NJ, PA, MI, and WV online casino markets.

One of the big questions surrounding BetMGM is what the endpoint will be for the joint venture. MGM has tried unsuccessfully to acquire Entain, but a public spinoff for the online brand is another option.
