Jackpocket Casino may be New Jersey’s newest iGaming app, but the online casino already has an established audience of New Jersey Lottery (NJL) players. That’s because the online casino’s parent company owns Jackpocket, the lottery ticket courier app that Garden Staters have been using since December 2019. That’s why gamblers who deposit money on the app are given “lottery credits,” among other promotions.
On the lottery ticket courier’s app, the latter are called “Jackpocket credits.” Accountholders can use those credits on the site so that Jackpocket can buy lottery tickets for them.
Hence, this latest product from Jackpocket Interactive Gaming (JIG) is living up to what the company told Bonus it would do a year ago. JIG representatives said Jackpocket Casino would cater to lottery players.
The New Jersey online casino app soft-launched on the Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City retail casino license.
However, Jackpocket Casino hasn’t yet fully launched. Also, when JIG told Bonus about its plans, the company said it may introduce the online casino app in other states later.
After all, Jackpocket is live in 17 US jurisdictions, including New Jersey.
UPDATE: 12/19/2023
Jackpocket Casino has still only been downloaded more than 500 times on Google Play.
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) still hasn’t listed Jackpocket Casino on the official Internet Gaming Sites page.
Jackpocket also didn’t immediately respond to a question from Bonus about whether it’s had its official launch yet.
Meanwhile, Jackpocket is posting on X about the building Powerball jackpot. Its graphic is already outdated — the prize is an estimated $572 million now. (It said $543 million.)
Jackpocket Casino’s Small Start
Bonus News Managing Editor Alex Weldon noted in the October online casino and poker revenue results that Harrah’s had a new app active on its license that generated $8 in gross gaming revenue (GGR).
Meanwhile, Google Play shows Jackpocket Casino has more than 50 downloads, and its description was updated on Nov. 15.
Google Play shows New Hampshire, New Jersey, and New York downloads of the original Jackpocket lottery ticket courier app total more than 1 million.
Perhaps that’s another reason the App Store and Google Play game descriptions for Jackpocket Casino both ensure viewers know about the company’s lottery history:

However, as of Dec. 5, Jackpocket Casino still isn’t listed by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) as an online casino site available through the Harrah’s license.
Jackpocket Casino’s Potential
Jackpocket Casino may have a built-in brand differentiation in a crowded online casino marketplace.
As the app descriptions indicate, Jackpocket is known in the lottery space.
NJL Executive Director James A. Carey Jr. said the lottery saw $3.634 billion in gross sales from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022. (That’s also known as Fiscal Year 2022.)
Annual online casino and poker revenue is about half that.
In October, iGaming GGR totaled $166.8 million.
So even though JIG hasn’t done much yet to promote the online casino it’s been working on since at least April 2021, when DGE provided its first approval, this app probably won’t be a secret for long.
For instance, Jackpocket Founder and CEO Peter Sullivan isn’t shy about sharing his company’s success in the lottery space. His most recent interview with Bonus happened on Oct. 11, when the Powerball jackpot reached an estimated $1.73 billion.
Sullivan told Bonus on Oct. 11:
Over the last year, Jackpocket users were responsible for up to 13% of all Powerball tickets sold in the states where it operates, and reached even higher market share in some states for particular drawings.
As White Hat Gaming put it in March, when the iGaming content creator agreed to be the player account management (PAM) provider for Jackpocket, the lottery ticket courier and iGaming operator has a legacy as a “well-recognised and high-growth company” that’s backed by billionaire Mark Cuban, actor Kevin Hart, and MLB player Manny Machado.
That means there’s bound to be more news soon about Jackpocket Casino.
